That museum is so kool 😉 When I was a kid, my grandma had this huge glass jar and it was known as “the Kool Aid” jar. Whenever me and my cousins were at grandma’s house, we knew there would be a pitcher of grape Kool Aid in the fridge. I’ll never forget the look on everyone’s face when one of cousins knocked over the empty jar and it broke. We all stood around staring at the wreckage as if the Hope Diamond had shattered. 😂
Thanks for making this video. This brought back a lot of memories. I grew up in Hastings and had many Kool-Aid stands with my friends during the summers. My mom made popsicles with Kool-Aid which were a big treat in the summer, and I still have the molds she used to make them. Hope you got to check out more of Hastings. It's not big but it was a great place to grow up in.
Kool-Aid Kool-Aid tastes great, Kool-Aid Kool-Aid can’t wait! I had that first see threw pitcher and they had matching mugs, you sent off Kool-Aid envelopes to purchase them and of course cash to cover postage those were the days, I bet my sister still has them. When we were kids we would bring some to the men that worked in the neighborhood 😎🐾
For so many of us Kool-Aid was a childhood staple. Thanks for sharing this nostalgic museum with us, Jordan and lKatie. I remember the Monkees Kool-Aid commercial with fondness.
I grew up drinking Kool-Aid, it was the best inexpensive refreshing drinks anyone could have. It was a great after school drink. I learned a lot today. Thank you Jordan and Katy.
What fun, Jordan and Katie! It brought wonderful memories of summer in the 1950s! My sisters, our cocker spaniel Mandy and a pitcher of cherry or raspberry Kool-aid! The pitcher was like the "holy grail" at our house! We took turns drawing the face and smile on it! Nebraska is an awesome state and good people! Thank you, Jordan and Katie! Had no idea the background on Kool-aid! Well done!
My husband's favorite flavor was Blue Houdini (blue tinted rasberry). He made me search everywhere to find some....now Walmart carrie's a generic and I tell him it's Blue Houdini and he's thrilled. Since he had a stroke he's easy to fool. ❤❤❤
I spent A LOT OF TIME making Kool-Aid when my kids were young! The kitchen table and chairs are from the same time period … and the other is what I believe was called a Step Stool … I have my Grandparents one in gray! Loved the tour! 🌈🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
I remember the Kool -Aid man that was on the left. I always noticed that little window at the top of the costume for the person inside to be able to see out of it.
Hi Jordan and Katie. Oh Yeah, kool aid, was a large part of my childhood. All kinds. I loved the red and grape. But drinked what ever was cool in the fridge. Loved those commercials. Some I never heard of. That Museum is cool, look like a neat place to visit. Haven't had Kool aid in years. Then there was Wyler's. Who competed with Kool aid. Guess I missed a lot of flavors and products. Was amazed to see all the flavors, and products they had . I say I was either born to early or too late.😁. But enjoyed what I had. I drinked so much, I started getting headaches. Had to slow down. Would make a pitcher before school, so it would be nice and cold when I got home. Fixed a sandwhich, had a glass of Kool Aid. That satisfied me till my mom fixed dinner. My twin and other siblings would argue about what flavor we wanted. Of course we all wanted a different flavor, usually the older siblings had thier way.🤦♀️. But that Museum is great. You showed a lot, we never knew. Thank you and Katie for taking us along, Oh Yeah, that museum has some great stuff. Worth going if you can. Jordan you keep taking us to the coolest places. My bucket list keep getting longer.😁. You Guys take care. Love, respect and positivity always. Neita.✌🕯💕🖖🌻🦋🙏🙂👋👣.
Cool aid was a treat, Mom was Big on juice (the real stuff) . My best friends family had cool aid at every meal, I ate a lot of meals there and got my cool aid fix at the same time!
Jordan this video brought back some childhood memories and this was so fun and exciting to see, I never new they had a museum and yes I grew up with the Kool Aid Picture and cups.
This was Kool. I didn't know there was so much history on Kool Aid. I'm like you Jordan. I grew up drinking it. Did they have a gift shop? Thank you and Katy for checking the place out for us. You both take care.
Much appreciated Jordan, as a kid we all enjoyed kool aid in the summer. But I had no idea how it came to be. Ty for showing us all about it! A Fantastic vlog. Cheers 😉🤝🏼✌🏼
So cool, takes me back to my childhood!👍 I remember cutting out the upc barcode symbol on the back of the package and saving them to get the toys they had, that when you saved enough to get a toy and sent the postage. I saved for the T shirt! Thanks!😊
This was great. I loved Kool Aid growing up. Hands down the 1975 costume was so much cooler than the 1990's version which was a wrinkled mess. Lol. Fun to see the history of this iconic product. Brings back a lot of memories. 💖
I used to watch you two all the time back when I was in high school and this video popped up on my TH-cam. I'm from Nebraska and to see that you guys made the trip to stop by is so cool! So glad you enjoyed the Kool-Aid section, if you get the chance to check out the rest of the museum out, you definitely should!
Hello! I have been watching you since Notre Dame was on fire, and you had just over 30,000 followers! I am so happy for you!! Kool-Aid had a root beer, and my husband loved it!! We have been married for 50 years!! We have a red kool-aid pitcher with glasses that we got for free from wrappers! Loved this!!
I wish I would have known you were going to be in my hometown of Hastings Nebraska. I live just a few blocks from the museum and could have shown you two some of the others interesting sites in central Nebraska.
I think I saved every empty package of Kool-Aid, for 20 years so I could get my kids the Kool-Aid pitcher & cups. I never turned them in. When I moved, I ended up giving them to a little neighbor boy. I've always regretted that. Very interesting vlog, enjoyed it very much! A Kool-Aid commercial always says "summertime" to me!!! ☀️
Grew up Husker in the area from Hastings ! Welcome to Nebraska. Grand Island and Minden have wonderful museums. Stuhr and Pioneer village. Its flat. I know. Omaha and Lincoln have hills. On ice. Its fun here. Safe travels!
Thank you for visiting my home state of Nebraska! Come on back and explore the sites associated with Johnny Carson, Henry Fonda, Joyce C. Hall, Fred Astaire and Marlon Brando to name a few!
I was 16 years old when the Kool-Aid man crashed through the brick wall. It was a great commercial back there. Now, when I see a brick wall I am always looking for the Kool-Aid guy to crash through. Well, not really...LOL. When I saw the presweetened packages with Bugs Bunny on them the first thing I think of is Cyclamates. The sweetener killed rats during experiments because scientists made them drink an equivalent of five gallons a day for 5 years. How would you feel after that?
I lived in Hasting for 5 yrs, Never new. I have been in the museum many time and they never has this exhibition. looking at the out side you showed it looks like they have extended the museum.
used to love kiil aid as a kid, loved all the flavors like cherry and grape. now i never drink it anymore. i prefer sugar free lemonade like crystal lite
In the 1950's, my mother made her version of popsicles using Kool-Aid by freezing Kool-Aid in ice cube trays (the metal trays popular at the time). They were good but could not hold a candle to the popular brand of store bought popsicles; banana and chocolate were my favorite flavors.
Started drinking kool Aid as a kid in the late 60s. Drinking Kool Aid as I watch this video. I'm now 58 and there's nothing like a glass of Kool Aid. Period!
78 years old and still enjoying a cold glass of Kool Aid! Prayers for Papaw, Jah and safe travels for you both! Hugs from avid viewers!
You find the most interesting places to visit, loved it.
i loved getting home from school and having Cherry Kool-Aid! Great memories.
Boy this brings back memories! I like the 70’s costume! The table chairs ETC is from the 50’s. I think they are just taking you back in time
