I can’t recall on which cuts atm but there are a few that I could hear the Cocteau Twins or just Elizabeth Fraser with This Mortal Coil. A chord progression or 3 that seemed just about lifted directly from a CTs song. Back ‘when’ it would’ve bugged me, but MH mentions the influence and doesn’t seem to be wanting to hide it. To pretend as though they were his.
Perfume Genius was successful for creating a world for me. Everytime I listen to "SMHOFI" I get comfort with my melancholy.. Perfume Genius owns my sadness and I own his Vinyl
