Excellent. I painted one of these about 3 years ago, before contrast paints existed, and it was hard work! You should do the Glottkin next!

@@Warhipster Get a 3d printer and make a bunch. I have about 5 of each greater demon, they cost about $5 a piece in resin, more options and have superior detail imo. The STLs are also free.

There any chance you would consider taking the plunge and try to make a painting guide on how paint rotigus to look like the paint scheme in the box and in the tome? No one has ever done it and if you do make one that'd be two times the GUO painting guides that'd be the first made for those color schemes.

I've wanted this model since I dipped my toe into AoS 2nd ed a couple of years ago but had so many other models to buy. Finally just picked him up this weekend and now I find this. :) Perfect! Thx! With the new Maggotkin battletome and Shadow Throne starter coming out this month, it is almost like Christmas or something. :P

Just got this guy as a Christmas present and I must say I'm very excited to get to work on one of these, I'm a Space Marine player but this is one of those models you just have to have if you love the building and painting side of Warhammer. I was surprised to see how large the base was, doesn't even fit the XL painting handle GW sells for stuff like Dreadnoughts, also this will give me an excuse to go to my hobby shop to buy a ton of paint.

Yeah, the chaos models are really beautiful and colorful when you think about it. Each god has its own signature color that applies to 99.9% of its models:
Khorne-Red
Nurgle-Light Green
T’zeentch-Light Blue or Turquoise
Slaanesh-Purple and Pink
Paint models up from all four and line them up, and they almost look like some sort of grotesque but beautiful rainbow.

War, what contrast would you use if you had to change skin tone from green to sickly blue?

As a master of the contrast paints, could you share any tips on applying them to large areas without getting visible brush marks? Things like large, flat armor panels or cloaks. I've seen you do them in previous videos and it seems like the paint just goes so smoothly on, but when I try to replicate it it's streaky. I'm clearly missing something. :)

Try adding a dash of medium either Lahmian or Contrast medium to it. Remember you always need a little more paint than you think on your brush. If you don’t have enough it’ll come out scratchy almost every time. You need enough paint that it’s visibly full but so much that it’s forming a drip. Keep your brush strokes methodical and take your time covering it. Being gentle and methodical will go a long way towards smoothing it out.

Late, but try the express line from Vallejo. They take way longer to dry, so you have plenty of time to make adjustments.

I will say my two biggest struggles with these tutorials are following them when I feel like the camera is so far from the model and the length of time between paints. They are great painting recipes, but I often find myself skipping ahead to see where it goes and losing track of the overall process.
