I love Les Heures Mystiques by Boëllmann. The best part is that most of it can be played without a pedalboard, so I can satisfy my desire to play the organ! You played very well, Remi, and the sound is very pleasant! Best wishes!
Such a loss to the world of music, and especially the organ, when Léon Boëllmann died of consumption (pulmonary tuberculosis) aged just thirty-five in 1897. I suppose he is most remembered by organists for his wonderful 'Suite Gothique' - especially the thrilling Toccata - but this 'Verset 1' from 'Les Heures mystiques' has a reverential charm and sincere spirituality that is very affecting. You play it beautifully, Rémi, and it sounds gorgeous on the Friesach Organ sample set: bravo! (And how guilty you make me feel . . . spending too much of your valuable free time on my 'Larghetto'. I am honoured you like this piece enough to want to play it at a church service - I am humbled! When your holiday comes, I hope you have a lovely relaxing time with your family and get some opportunity to unwind, eat some delicious food and drink some fine wine. A ta santé !)
@@grahamtwist thank you Graham ! I'm a week from my holidays. After 5 days of retirement in a minster, I sail to Corsica with my family for a most expected rest. I still have a lot of pleasure practicing your larghetto, it's one of the most rewarding piece I've ever heard and played, I mean one in my top 5. I feel guilty not having kept it in my fingers while I was able to play it fluently 3 years ago
