So would this same effect work if you wanted to just make the penguin transparent? Or, in my case, the screens on a stack of old CRT TVs. I have a 2 minute, still frame video loop, and my plan is to use that loop as a livestream overlay. I just need all the screens to be transparent.
Yeah, but you would need to remove the screen from the original video with content aware fill. Or just place the TV over other background and reduce its opacity
Cool stuff man, but how can you save the moving image by itself with a transparent background? I have supposedly saved it but when I import it into my Premier Pro project it still has a black background. If you can advise me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Yeah, under the preview screen there are buttons that add the selection visualization, there is one for the purple outline, then there's red highlight and more, click the buttons to select the desired one
Depends on the file format, quicktime will be huge in terms of file size, mp4 should be fine, you could add a green solid layer as a background render it as mp4 and remove the green when needed
Hello my brother i already render it in a way how you do in this video. How can i add new background on this set up can you help on this? Thank you so much in advance!
You can add a new background as the bottom layer after removing the background or render it transparent as .mov format and then add background in future
You can duplicate the original footage and leave at the bottom and reduce its opacity, then have a rotobrushed layer on top without background with full opacity, hopefully that makes sense😁
@@SmertimbaGraphics it kind of does much i might need a step by step detail if you can, i’m really new to it and im not sure about a lot of things on it
After you do the rotobrush onto a layer and the background is gone and all, duplicate the layer by selecting it go up to layer, duplicate. Then remove the rotobrush effect from the layer that's at the bottom on the timeline, that will bring back the background, then select the bottom layer and press T, then adjust opacity, you can also add more effects, like gaussian blur if you need to slightly blur the background and stuff.
You are probably making a mistake along the way, because if you've traced the subject like shown, that will always remove a background back in the composition view

Does not work. When I use the roto brush on a moving person, the roto brush is so dumb that it kept deleting spots of that person making him look like he got blown up by a bomb. The roto brush also can't even differentiate a black shadow and the tan skin of a person. And when I accidentally clicked the red roto brush on a random of the already-removed background, the whole arm of that person literally disappeared even though the background is black while the hand is literally tan. Roto brush AI is so stupid.
