I had always heard that my great grandfather, Labe Gedalia, was a kabbalistic rabbi in Bialystok in the 19th and 20th centuries. The family story is that he trained other rabbis, but I am not certain if this was in Kabbalah or rabbinical studies of a more mainstream variety.

In Oscar Wildes novel Dorian Grey, the tselem is projected into a painting.

Beautiful lecture. Very strange that he couldn't find anyone that knew Kabbalah at that time. Shalom.

I figured he was talking more about academic work.

i once saw a kabbalah book discuss the differnce between tselem and Demut. or demus. Demut is another way of saying image or figure. It is similar but obviously different than tselem......

It still boggles my mind how anyone could be called Jewish and Neoplatonist at the same time. Tragic.

What are you talking about? To start Hindu is not even a MONOTHEISTIC religion.

@@bobmbeki2650 Actually, various Hindu sects have a tendency to claim that their Ishvara (Lord/chosen deity to devote to) is the all-singular God/higher-self (supreme divine soul). Any polytheism perceived is the incarnation or inform taken by a single divinity into a seemingly dualistic world.
