- Its a very early morning for me to get a pile of lime spread. I sort out the hydraulic cylinder issues with the Bourgault 8910, and we finally get our first paddock seeded for the year.

Mate you have the patience of a saint with the hydraulic cylinder run around you have been enduring. Great videos. Cheers
Great work Henry hopefully they finally send the right cinder 🤞🤞
When calibrating your seeder, you can put a couple 20L drums under the yellow tub to hold it closer to where the seed comes out. Therefore you don't need a second person to hold the tub up.
We farm at Laura, and we have a simplicity box as well.
That's what I do when the old boy isn't around. He insists on getting dirty, hahaha
Well done on the fix Henry, sometimes you’ve just got to work with what you’ve got. Hopefully they can get you the RIGHT part soon. Good luck with planting. Some great drone shots, shows the spreader perfectly, thanks for the video.
The drone shot when living is really well done.
Good luck seeding your 2024 crops Henry
Mate I know how it frustrates service supply companies . I email 4 electricians 8 days ago ,none of them bothered to reply or turn up to install my electric oven , humbug ,so now I am the ruddy sparky . Wish me luck !
This comment is from Colin Wonham. I would just like to say how much i enjoy your well make and professional videos you produce. Well done. Colin.
Thank you 👍
Great early morning footage. Nothing like pre-dawn in rural Australia. 2C not so good. 😂
Well done Henry first paddock done.😊
Great video Henry
Hi Henry you must have a few holy buckets at your place. With mine and yours we could have huge holy bucket resiorvor of holy nothings
Get in there ya dog 😂😂🇦🇺
................G'day Henry,
thanks for another video mate.
Cheers and God bless,
Malcolm.
awesome editing skills, music well thought out as well.
Great content!
Hi Henry great videos I've just binge watched all of them I'm a want to be farmer from Tas thanks
Well. Maybe 4th times the charm. I’ve done a fair bit of parts procurement in my day, and this aspect of buy parts always frustrated me.
Durn good thing you’re a mechanic, Henry. Otherwise….where would ya be?
A long way behind I reckon

My most fav farmer and also I live in a farm in port Lincoln SA
Would be interesting to see later on if that first seed planted at the wrong depth emerges differently than the rest.
It will, but it should still grow. Might be a bit of a staggered germination.
Another excellent video Henry, if everything worked on the first or second attempt you wouldn't have a reason to make half your videos :)
Nice haircut btw :) :) :)
Hi Henry, Fascinating watching you get into the seeding and one or two issues you solve along the way. I have a question? Do you have a map of the property so we can see each of the paddocks you talk about and where you have to go to get from one end of the farm to the other. Thanks
I should probably put something together.
@@lockvalleyfarms981 Hi Henry. That would be good. Sorry, I know you are very busy at this time.
We all have them days mate. Mine was today…. Done 2 zero max gear box’s doing beans… trying to get 150kg/ha out. How do you go with your air cart on beans?
Get along with it ok. Always calibrate and always end up having to wind the rate one way or the other, though. I calibrate it and set it to 140kg ha. That way, if it's out 10-20kg in the paddock, it's no big drama, and it usually is out by about that much. Beans seem to be a bit difficult to calibrate on ours.
I don’t know how you do it with the machinery, I get soo frustrated with it all so I hardly own any 🤣🤣🤣
So with that stubble, was it the grazing that caused the drama or should it have been baled or chopped? Or just one of those things?
The grazing 100% made it worse. Sheep knocking stubble over always makes it harder to get back through.
@@lockvalleyfarms981 so is it better to bale heavy straw loads or just keep sheep off?
you have a seeder that seed and apply fertilezer. Why do you apply the fertizer also in the soil and not on top of the soil . What is the advantace of that
It puts the fertiliser down with the seed to assist growth
@@quannyfourtwo4366 I am in agraculture myself I know what fertiliser is
My question is why put the fertiliser IN the soil and not on top of the soil
Put it in the soil require more horsepower of the tractor
