Void, first of all lovely stream as always your content always puts a smile on my face.
Second off I just want to say that your videos have gotten me through the worst of the pandemic, and the loss of a close family member, I was the worst I have ever been back then, but it was in part thanks to your videos and this game that has kept me going, and now here I am sitting in my chair at home typing on my phone as the proud man and owner of not only a bachelors but also a masters degree in Forensic Chemistry as I just graduated with my masters last Saturday. Thank you so much for your channel, your personality, and your coverage on all things gaming, and war of the worlds. I will definitely stick around to whenever the game goes into early access and beyond. Words can never describe how thankful I am of you, Raf and his game and the wonderful community you all have built. Please continue to work hard all of you, and become your own masterpiece of artwork and animation just like War of the Worlds by Raf in his FlipSwitch games team.

In terms of the AI voices, I personally think a nice middle ground would be paying real voice actors to record sets of dialogue to use in data sets for the AI models. It'd allow Raf to have the procedural dialogue he wants while also allowing real voice actors to contribute.
Ooh I like it. And I think it would be cool to have just a few rare NPCs with human dialogue, maybe for small little side quests or just unique characters you don’t see anywhere else.

yeah, side quests would be really appreciated, and be a great way of introducing npcs with a bunch of real voices. I mean the movie had lots of strangers interacting with the main characters. If random crowds of npcs also had a decent set of voicelines like in GTA, that would be dope too.
Yes, I love the idea of using those strangers from the film and expanding upon what their perspective was through side quests. Great comment, Cy. Giving them dedicated voice lines would be a no brainer.

What i would like is a panic system. Like when an active tripod is nearby, your panic increases and you are more likely to make loud noises, take longer for crafting and reloading, have worse aim and a bit shaky controls. This could also be reinforced when a nearby tripod is using the horn, giving this feature actual gameplay impact. And if your character is exposed to panic too long, there should even be a chance of your character just freezing or slipping in pure panic, especially for under-leveled characters. Uber-Pods should also cause more panic.
This would also add more strategic options for Tripod players, like one aggressively using lasers and horn, and another nearby Tripod player is going into stealth mode and probes the houses.
I got inspired by "Amnesia", where you would also lose sanity if you look too long at a monster. This adds tension and gives you another, indirect resource to manage which at the same time is not tedious to find/craft. This panic system would reward clever hiding spots and long-term planning (for both sides) while at the same time punishing everyone who is just running around like an aimless chicken.
They could also add ways of increasing your resilience against panic besides just leveling up your character, for example, the more days you survive, the more "hardened" your character becomes. Or if you are hiding in a good place with other people. This would reward sticking together even more, especially for new players.
The idea of a panic system is pretty cool. I think the pods are OP, so as long as it's subtle enough to not be a hindrance or makr it impossibly difficult.

i wont be surprised tbh. The fear the movie instils is so unique but of course cant really get it over and over watching the same movie. But now we can experience that fear now that it's a game with great replay value
Look at Minecraft without an LOD. Look at Minecraft with the Distant Horizons LOD mod.
Now replace Minecraft with this game.

While I agree that a crowd screaming sound is good, having it be playing from a single source makes it sound weird.
Yeah it could be improved upon. Maybe have more variety of crowd size.

this is so cool man, I am just glad that the destruction is getting better and better and the tripods too, ahah yea also that attic part you we're mentioning about someone needs to go down there and check if close is clear, LOL can you imagine the pressure and fear for that person him going down there lol, yea honestly multiplayer is going to be deep and just imagine in multiplayer we're all hiding in the attic, I wonder how we can get everyone to stay quiet though xD. The destruction has certainly peaked at a new level! Hiding with everyone will be a blast. Hopefully there’s some collision, so if someone is making noise we as a group can push them out lol. I also hope that just getting seen by the probe doesn’t automatically mean you get caught.
I prefer the 2023 Tripods because of the lighting. It really puts emphasis on the stealth mode. At the same point it feels so much more otherworldly. I love the 2005 tripods but what they managed to put together looks so good in the games.

The tornado shouldnt literally shake a tripod it would make them look weaker. But it should blow off their aim a bit and maby make them wobble a tiny bit

The way it is now, it feels like the destruction of houses will just get abused by online players and there would be no point in hiding when they can just farm house destruction as exterminator. Theyll hit the right one eventually, so why not just destroy them all, someone will be in one of them. How could this be countered as a player on the ground? Since being outside wont be any better, probably worse. There is no where to hide safely besides an occasional basement maybe.
I think this is a valid concern. One thing to help balance is the heatrays have cooldowns. This duration could be increased if there's too much destruction happening. Also, I believe that harvesting and fertilizing will be a big enough part of the game to not simply kill everyone. That being said, while the open may be scarier, it may potentially be safer because the invaders may not think to look there, let alone see a tiny person in a bush. But this balance will definitely be very interesting to see play out! Great comment.

Well since the goal of the aliens is to terraform so they can live in it. Players should get bonuses for destroying less structures as the aliens may wanna use those houses as prebuilt shelters.

Void boi some of these guns are not made by raf the guns are actually made from a game called sker ritual. You can find that out if you download the demo version of the game, or buy the game but it doesn't matter. Edit: Thinking about it now these are random guns anybody could use for a game. lol, i couldnt make it unfortunately, but that one part about somebody having to snipe their buddy and then having them not worry about being harvested, and my mind of the tripod was like "wait, this meat is contaminated!!! i might as well throw it out.."
