    Tip: when you tie knots in your locs be sure to palm roll them smooth ..my wife’s locs are actually thicker than yours and whenever we tied knots we palm rolled them almost completely smooth to the point where we can barley notice now ..so for slimmer locs like yours it’ll definitely help strengthen your locs while not looking so “bumpy” 💝

    Nice video!! Just a side note: Fast drying hair is typically an indication of high porosity (absorbs water quickly). Low Porosity typically takes forever to dry and repels water.

    • @RestorativeClarity
      @RestorativeClarity 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      This is incorrect. Low porosity hair dried very quickly as well, if there is no product in it. Once product is applied to wet, low porosity hair, this traps in water to hair that absorbs slowly, which is why drying takes longer.

    • @MyBabyGirlsCurls
      @MyBabyGirlsCurls 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @@RestorativeClarity Ok but from the research that is out there, it shows that low porosity hair repels water hence the beading up look on hair which is why it may still appear dry. It is dry because it was never actually moisturized/wet. However, once the water actually penetrates it takes a long time to dry because the hair shaft it tightly sealed. The research is out there and it all states exactly what I said.

    So my loctitian has done knots in a few of my locs. I have a good bit of gray hair around my edges and after more than a year slippage happens to the point where they come fully undone. The knots in locs….for me…have kept them from slipping and giving the loc a chance to for.

      @@QueenEleem I wish!!! ☺️☺️I’ll ask her if she knows of one. When she first did it I asked what she was doing and she said she does it as one of her last resorts. She was taught by one of her professional mentors. Gray hair…at least mine is darn near straight so it takes forever to coil and matte upon itself.

    Your locs are so beautiful ☺️ both of you. I can almost relate with your friend’s baby locs cos mine are gonna be 5 months as well tomorrow and the back is locing faster than the front, with those tiny buds at the tips and we have around the same length. It’s just weird that lot of people keep asking me what style I have on and I have to explain a lot of times that they are baby locs 😅

    I have Sisterlocks, 15 months in and the dry, flakiness has been significant this Winter. I use a rat-tail comb, scratch my sclap to lift the dandruff, shake the flakes out and apply OIL. I know oil can be bad but I had to listen to what my scalp needed and the snowing-effect of dandruff has improved.

    Tying a knot will absolutely make a loc weaker. Because it creates an area where the loc is artificially thickened it may make the remaining areas of the loc weak. I expect it’ll make an interlocking session pretty difficult, especially as the lock thickens and the knots thicken even more. 😬 if you were trying to address thin areas of locks, I tend to just interlock the hole/ thin area until it thickens up. I dunno if that helps since I don’t think I saw the relevant vid.
