  • Ingredients:
    - Fish (any firm white fish like tilapia, cod, or halibut): 500 grams, cut into pieces
    - Tamarind: lemon-sized ball, soaked in water and pulp extracted
    - Onions: 2, finely coarsed in a mixer jar along with garlic, jeera
    - Green chilies: 2-6 , slit
    - Curry leaves: a sprig
    - Mustard seeds: 1 teaspoon
    - Fenugreek seeds: 1/4 teaspoon
    - Turmeric powder: 1/2 teaspoon
    - Red chili powder: 1 teaspoon
    - Coriander powder: 1 teaspoon
    - Salt: to taste
    - Oil: 3 tablespoons
    - Water: 2 cups
    - Coriander leaves: for garnish
    Instructions:
    Heat the pan and dry roast fenugreek seeds and grind them fine powder.
    1. Heat oil in a pan or kadhai. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
    2. Add fenugreek seeds and fry until they turn slightly brown.
    3. Add coarsed onions , jeera, garlic in a mixer jar and sauté until they become translucent.
    4. Add curry leaves and slit green chilies. Sauté for a minute.after add fish pieces and also fry them to don’t use spoon.
    5. and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
    6. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, Mix well and cook for a couple of minutes.
    7. Add the tamarind pulp along with 2 cups of water. Bring it to a boil.
    8. Once boiling, add the Mango pieces and salt. Gently mix to coat the fish with the masala.
    9. Cover and cook on medium-low heat for about 10-15 minutes or until the fish is cooked through and the flavors are well blended.add fenugreek powder mix well and at last not but least
    10. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
    11. Serve hot with steamed rice.
