I think the joke about how British TV seasons are so short was on The Good Place, Season 1. Tahani was introducing Eleanor to one of her favorite TV shows, Deirdre and Margaret. "It ran for 16 years on the BBC. They did nearly 30 episodes."

The writer of the show based it off of her own childhood and friend group. She planned to set it in modern day, but she realized how much of her experiences were shaped by the Troubles and that she couldn’t authentically tell the story without that backdrop

Saw your original upload and was a little disappointed by how much was cut so thank you for the re-upload 😂
I recently went to Northern Ireland and got to go to Derry where they have a mural in the centre of the city of the Derry girls cast - everyone is so proud of the show and talk about the tourism the show has brought and how 30 years ago that was unimaginable- same with Belfast- went on a few tours and they were so proud of their history.

I was gonna say, i watched the original upload and was perplexed at it. Thank you for the do-over.

Yeah, sorry. When TH-cam hits you with a copyright strike and offers to automatically cut it for you, don't let them. That's their idea of fixing it. Yikes.

Claire's actress is also in Bridgerton, as well. i haven't watched that show but i see a lot of advertisement pictures of it with her in them, so i'm guessing she's likely one of the main characters in the show. and i've seen James' actor in another top award winning BBC tv show called Call The Midwife. it was for one episode but i did the Leonardo "look at that" meme when i saw him. the actors also were in a holiday seasonal episode of Great British Bakeoff that was a lot of fun to watch as well.

Bridgerton is set on an alternate mixed race regency era and mainly about a family (the Bridgertons, a widow and like 7 kids) and she plays the next door neighbor who is besties with one of the girls and secretly in love with one of her brothers, and she steals the show. Each season is centered on the love story of one of the siblings, the 3rd one starts this May and we're all excited because it's about the brother she's in love with (best friends to lovers trope) so that means SHE is the protagonist of the season. Great comfort watch, very bingeable.

@@HuntingViolets Lol, exactly! Last time I felt this way about waiting for a season premiere must have been with Game of Thrones, and that was cool, but this is all the girlies and the gays of the world giggling at the same time, such a wonderful, silly celebration of femmehood in a world where we're made to hate and feel ashamed of all things pink.

@@carlalussini someone told me it's basically a today era of Gossip Girl? it's not personally my cup of tea but it does seem to be a hit.

@@vincentdarkrosrayne It's more similar to Grey's anatomy (both a Shonda Rhymes productions) but I get the comparison given the fast passe, the glossy rich people, the drama, the sexyness, and yes; gossip being a main part of the overall plot. But what makes it special is you get not only the entertainment part of all that, but also the warm feelings of a Romance; and if you combine it with the Regency era setting, then those witty comments feel less Whedonesque and more Austerian-with-a-modern-twist

You should try a translucent layer over your clips. One reactor who was having trouble with copyright takedowns tried sparkles, and I think that's worked pretty well for her.

I can recommend KIN. An irish criminal family crime drama which is excellent with a superd cast. I think you'll enjoy it. Series 3 is in limbo now as production company went belly up. Daredevil himself, Charlie Cox is the lead. Well worth checking out.

If you’re looking for more good series in ireland - ‘love/hate’ and ‘kin’, they arent comedies, but they are excellent. ‘Father Ted’ is a comedy from the 90’s and it’s hilarious….your reactions are great btw 😀

1:15 i just hope yous understand the significance of this “period piece” and the history behind and therefore realise that referring to this as “British” is INSANELY offensive. Only saying these because ye haven’t touched on this mistake in ur intro.

There is a very strong parallel between this show and the mid 00s UK sitcom, The Inbetweeners. It was raunchy high school boys with a similar Golden Girls dynamic to this show (Michelle - Blanche, Clare - Rose, Erin - Dorothy, Orla - Sophia, I consider James a plus Fez, much like The Big Bang Theory is just Friends but Joey and Phoebe are smart instead of flighty, plus Fez. But this is now a tangent). One other thing, just a quick reminder that Northern Ireland is actually a part of the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Ireland is its own separate EU member country. So, this is technically a UK produced show. No biggie. There are some great shows produced in Ireland as well, the biggest recent one that comes to mind is Normal People.

I’m always baffled when people who seem thoughtful and empathetic in their comments LOVE the office, which has always just read to me as a bunch of people bullying two autistic men. And we’re supposed to clap about it. I guess if you’ve never been bullied it’s funny? Idk.

The Office (The US version) was admittedly hit-and-miss for me.
