The clan association membership stretches from New Zealand to Sweden, across the United States and Canada to Australia and Borneo, as well as England, Wales and Scotland.
They are traditionally associated with Badenoch, where the Clan Macpherson House and Museum is at Newtonmore.

My mother was a MacPherson.
My grandpa was named Cluny.
Visiting Scotland and seeing where my great grandmother was born has been on my bucket list for a while.

My mother's maiden name is Ellis, her lineage hails from Scotland. As I was doing research on my.family history it turns our her lineage from the Ellis' clan, was one of the families that made up the MacPherson clan. I am 1/4 filipino, 1/4 Canadian/French, and the rest is mixed European with a big percentage hailing from Scotland. I am proud to be a MacPherson :)

Anyone understand the change variation from MacPherson to McPherson. The information i've found is that the few from the Irish Branch went to America, disapproving the Irish at the Time, Scotland made variation of Changing Mac to Mc for America's Approval.
Also, another interesting thing, is that we are part of bloodline group R1B L1. And it is more than likely for Mac/McPherson's to descend from the Picts.
McPherson is the only side i've researched thoroughly. Father's/Grandad's Side McPherson Scotland. Father's/Nan's Side Collins Ireland. Mother's/Grandad's Side ?. Mother's/Nan's Side Corbett England.
I reside in Middlesbrough, Born English, Speak English with a struggle, somehow still trying to learn Gaelic irish, then Scots Gaelic. Challenge accepted, but probably still fail.
MacPherson Is the Scottish way of spelling it and McPherson is the Irish way but both of them mean the same it is the son of MacPherson and Irish McPherson

I’m a Parsons of Irish heritage but I can only go so far back, I know the surnames mean the same thing but I’m wondering if theres a link and we have a common ancestor? Can anyone shed any light on this? I cant work out if two groups of people got their names from the same occupation or if we share a common ancestor and my family name is MacPherson Anglicised
Probably, some quick Google searches will clear it up but Scots and the Irish are both of Celtic descent so its likely
