Absolutely amazing to see such a fair, kind and honest young man. Now you have a new friend and a place you can explore for a long time because of your honesty.
Wow how could anyone dislike JD’s videos? He has the best videos on TH-cam and takes you thru his whole journey. He is setting the bar for detecting videos and I love it! Keep it up bro
J. D., you've got me all fired up again to get out my old coins and old folding money. I have glass jars full, and a 1921 one dollar coin I found in the dirt when I was 8, 56 yrs ago. Your knowledge has helped me considerably and I appreciate it. Thanks to you, I know now what a "Morgan dollar" is. I was watching when you dug up that Barber half at the 1875 brick house. The silver spoon find was also amazing! It is FUN.
I really loved watching this and was so impressed with your honesty. Awe, how sweet she was to offer the coin back to you. You have wonderful integrity, something that you don’t see any more. I subscribed to keep watching you. Don’t ever Change who you are because you are going places because of the person that you have chosen to be.
Made me cry. Seriously. My Mom was born in 1922. Her 1922 silver dollar keepsake was a huge loss. I know not its place now. She had a male dog Ladie. A big Shetland. I remember pics. Beautiful dog. My Mother was so pretty. Miss You Mom and Dad!!! Hope to see you Both in Heaven someday! You are so beautiful and Loved! Love to you All! And have a Merry Christmas!! Ho ho ho...lol
Great video, dude. You hit the jackpot in this yard. I think it's cool that people let you dig in their yard and really don't want anything other than to see what you found. It must be your sincerity, and you reek of it. Good job!
JD, I love the way you talk. You take the time to explain things to the property owners and us your viewers. Sweet finds in the old harmonica, Coins and tax token!
Excellent video, dude. I've never watched a 1 hour video all the way thru. You are a classy individual to treat that lady fairly. In my 66 years, I have found that things always work out better when you pay it forward. At your age I didn't do it, and I regret it. Keep it up!
Confession time: I wasn't sure I would watch an entire hour of one video, but I couldn't stop watching it! It was find after find after find. Well done on a great day.
yes. "oldies" radio stations play music from the 1980s now. Music I heard when I was a little boy in the early 1970s is almost never played anymore, too old. I am surprised when I hear the Carpenters on the radio for example, it's so unusual now. ... or... Bread... Neil Diamond... LOL They used to play those non stop on the radio back in the 70s.
As someone from across the pond, I have to laugh when a house from 1875 is thought of as old. I have buildings from the 1300s in my town just 5 minutes walk away. My own house, built in 1909 is thought of as relatively young!
Awesome! JD you had fun as I did. I’ve been a treasure hunter as well. Growing up I found many different things and one was 1909 penny under an old palm tree. Wwow. I was 10 years old. My family and I went on car rides around about 100 square miles. Found some really old places. I have had some luck including around old railroad tracks that had been removed. It was copper with some kind of a dark patina on over it. There was a D in a script that was different. Anyway, I want to congratulate you on your finds. I was so happy for you. You are honest and that is a good draw point for me to continue watching your videos. God Bless.
Great video. One of the better detecting videos I've seen in awhile. Great finds and looking forward to seeing more on the history on that Token....thanks for sharing.
JD, this is my first time watching you... I PRAY, you are as ADORABLE as you seem... 😀 I LOOOVE the way you do your video's ! ❤ I did some detecting about 11 yrs. ago, but, stopped... What with work, garden and other everyday things... 😔 I'm a lot, lot older now... Thought I would let you know tho, after watching a lot of video's on old dump digging, ( I use to do that too. 😀 ) metal detecting, Mudlarking, ( from England ) I went and bought me a NEW detector yesterday... 😁😁😁 if you haven't watched, Mudlarking, especially, SI-FINDS from England... I think you might enjoy it... The one thing that DRIVES ME NUTS about it, tho... Is they find things from the 16th century... And my mouth waters !!! ☺ Well, just wanted you to know HOW MUCH I LIKED what your doing and how you do it... NO FOOLING AROUND talking about a broken fork for 10 min. Haha ! You go at it like I used to... I can look later, during cleanup... Keep up the GOOD JOB and GOOD LUCK !!! I'll hope to take my new detector out this weekend... 😁😀😁😀😁 OLD NOTTS. LADY, USA ❤
JD You are a wonderful young man. I love how excited you got finding that 1910 Barber half dollar. I wasn't sure if I was going to watch but you convinced me that this was the show to watch. God Bless Keep up the good work. Wishing the best for you. Cathy🌻 Reardon Mansfield, Ohio 🇺🇸
Your a cool young man.my brother just died. The farm was my grandfathers. If I was your age I'd be buying one of those metal detecting machines. I'd find all kinds of good things on the farm because back in the day they buried the so called trash. I get excited when I watch you dig because how excited you get. I love your honesty. So important to me in these dishonest days we're living in. Granny Fan big time.
Nice dig JD. My grandfather also put pennies in the garden. He sed it was for the peppers. Needless to say when I got my 1st MD it was the first place I went. Got a boat load of indians & wheats. My job was to catch a bunch of trash fish in the spring. One for every hill of corn, & every few feet along the veggy rows. It WORKED ! Keep the great vids coming....... Tom in N.H. LFOD !
Great video.. Only want to pick at one thing... The bugs you find, leaving them on the side might save them from getting crushed. But they will freeze later as the hibernating.. Chuck em back in the hole with some leaves and hope they dont get squashed..
You are a joy to watch and give great information on the items you find. I find you very entertaining and thanks for helping me find out all of the signals so I can finely use my detector that I got for Christmas about five years ago. I am 66 years old and my dear husband died this last year so I have plenty of time on my hands. Best of luck in your finds and I'll be watching. Bye,
Great finds!! I always use a small hand towel to collect dirt dug from the holes and then dump it back in when done. This way people can't even tell where holes were dug and leaves a good impression on the hobby of metal detecting.
Wow!! The return to the house was well worth it!! Congrats JD, awesome barber half and silver spoon especially! I'm sure this will be one of the more memorable yards for you when looking back on your hunts
Thanks for the kind words Donna. I have posted over 1,000 videos in the last 6+ years and I don't swear in any of them. You may want to consider catching up on a few of my adventures. I would love to have you as a subscriber. I just posted one of my best videos yesterday. Take care! :)
well you are a rare one JD not many ppl would have been that gracious on how you handled that morgan and to show her stuff on google.... wish more digger were like you congrates hope to see more from that place
Nicely edited to include immediately after finds the cleaned up version, for those of us with short term memory loss, lol. It's more gratifying to see the before/after next to each other than to see a bunch of dirty, nearly unrecognizable relics lumped together and at the end "so this is the haul all cleaned up" Watched the whole thing and enjoyed every minute.
Thanks. And I agree. On my better finds, I'm working on integrating the cleaned up portion directly after the dig. Seems most people like this very much. Myself included. :)
Well done and a great channel, my question is, what is the best metal detector to buy as in value for the money. The other channels are all heavily sponsored by Garrett so an unbiased opinion is appreciated.
Hope you still check your old Posts because you're still getting appreciative Viewers! Thanks so much, this was a lot of fun to go around with you. Always wondered what it was like to Metal Detect for Treasures :)
You were honest with the lady and you parted without the Morgan Dollar only to find a Half Dollar. Wow! Somebody is pretty lucky. You know this maybe one of those never ending stories which will continue with your next visit.
Great video! This is why I love metal detecting, just never know what you will find. I post metal detecting over on my channel, and I have yet to have a haul this good. Great job!

The token should be a $1 scrip token utilized as pay for the coal miners back in the day. Basically allowed the mining companies to utilize free or extremely cheap labor by paying employees with tokens which were non transferrable and we're only accepted at company store(s). Neat find. True history there.
Did you forget to take your medicine today? Feeling okay? (You might notice I complimened the boy...... and you might notice it was a joke.... and that I complimented the boy.... Joke.... complimented the boy. You obviously need laid, you should come to the class.
To put this video into context. The first time I metal detected this location I found a silver morgan dollar, and lots of other amazing items. Here's a link to that video: th-cam.com/video/JM106gRAKmI/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=JD%27sVarietyChannel
great barber and that silver baby spoon is very cool. the most annoying thing about the video is the ads that pop in. Glad I dont have those in my vids lol. great job!
You are right it's most likely a christening spoon though you'd expect the date to be on it ... even has a motif of a child on it... they bend the handle so the baby can hang on to it. Your find is EXQUISITE!!! The detailing on it is just beyond AWESOME!
I used to have a metal detector. I sold it to provide Christmas for my kids. Get your hands on some old aerial photos and maps of the area you're interested in detecting. You'll find old pathways, roads driveways, etc.
Definitely a dream house. Wish we had some around here. You're in an area where there is a ton of history. Ours only goes back to the 1850's and that is in the downtown area. Anyway, glad you found those old wheats and that Barber!! Great hunt!!
If his dude doesn’t encourage kids nowadays to come off the Xbox, and get out into fresh air, I don’t know what will. Great vid, and an amazing attitude.
