By far, the best audiobook I've ever come across. I listen to many audiobooks in the evenings and I've been known to fall asleep during the process. I gave to pick up where I left off the previous evening. This was a real page Turner is a book. I started listening at about 11 pm and its now 1:45. I could not stop the tape - I was captured by this writers style. I think the narrator was stupendous and his voice was perfect for this reading. I think I see another audiobook by this author and i’m on a quest to start “reading” it. The narrator made me feel as though there were several different speakers because of his talent for speaking with many different accents: English, Russian, Scottish, American southern accents, etc. I know when you start listening you will feel as captivated as I. Fabulous!
Another Patrick Robinson book with a submarine theme . I've read Nimitz class , kilo class and barracuda . I didn't think there were others . The algorithm suggested this one , I y was looking for the ken follett books but this has popped up , not bad going for that algorithm .
I read the book. There were some good parts I remembered that were left out. Like his entire treck across the desert,, shooting two guards in a jeep,. How they actually stole the sub, which I'm surprisedwas left out, his arrival on the life boat at the docks. An unabridged version would have been better
I guess he would like large numbers of American men to read his books, or listen, so why would he alienate them by blaspheming the God that 75% of them serve, and curse the name Jesus Christ? Most of these guys just quietly close the book and put it back on the library shelf; I choose to point out this big marketing mistake before closing it and walking away.
Not a good abridged version much of the book missing a same because it is a good book .for people just coming to this it's part of abnam trilogy with Nimitz and kilo class coming before
In reality the previous story about the silent service during WW2 in regard to silver sides an other U.S subs an Japan was reality an horrid as it was true, this story was not but a Clancy type sojourn .Prefer history over hype as it,s based on true occurence. If I want only entertainment there is always the green hornet .
History.Fact even if you don't like it. The US Failed from 1940 to the end of 1942 with submarine warfare, after having over 70 ships sunk in the gulf of Mexico alone by the U Boats, yet they did nothing,ie the president and 2 of its admirals, compestuous stupidity, but there you go geezer
Felip Felop go read a history book the US was conducting totally illegal anti submarine warfare in the Atlantic there are few incidents on public record before Hitler declared war. the US navy had a little problem at the start half there fleet had been damaged and sunk in a town called pearl harbour again very easy to find in public records world wide I think it's also on TH-cam but you can goggle it since you don't actually know what happened in history .admiral king was the man responsible and yes he refused Royal Navy assistance and didn't institute convoys but what with he had to train a lot of civilians to man a lot of mothballed ships that had to be worked up plus a lot of ships to be built to replace lost merchant and warships whilst also expanding the US navy whilst dealing with corrupt politicians and criminally incompetent ordnance dept who gave the US submarine fleet torpedoes that sank the subs what fired them or bounced of Japanese ships again public records Mk 14 torpedo .

It has been four nights now.. listening and falling asleep.. I will have to spend an afternoon listening to this completely.
I can relate to that.
The human voice can be an excellent sedative.
I enjoyed the narrative -- ordering the book from EBay
Maybe cut down on the swag?📚🎚️
Thunderbirds are GO!
Thanks loads 😊
The similes abound with superlatives and hyperbole, in this rip-roaring best seller ! !
A summary in the description section would have been useful
It's a little difficult but read the left part (blue part) of the screen. It does give some insight.
Indeed yes, my immediate thoughts..
This has Concorde flying in 2006 even though it was retired in 2003.
The book was published in 1999

Good book not what I expected but does get slow at 2 hours
Slow because a lot of the action in the novel was left out
Miller Betty Perez Sarah Lopez Dorothy
Any further books? 😊
Yes, for submarine stories go for Nimitz Class, kilo class and Barracuda in that order but not too necessary to read in the order really .
Nimitz class...this guy adnam was executed by the mossad....what's going on?

I realize this is fiction, but there were no Concordes flying in 2006.
Yup, was October 2003😎
This book was published in 1999.
@@IndianOutlaw1870 Be that as it may, but the story line began in 2006 .

How do you steal a sub on patrol. Apparently, even the author has no clue. Pure rubbish.
