    I like it. There's alot of neat server power supplies floating arount on ebay. If you have a multimeter with temperature reading capabilities, you could have bought 3 or 4 extra probes and left planted them into the psu so that all you have to do to monitor temps is to plug the multimeter into them.

    Seeing a list of components used for this project would be extremely helpful. For example, the gauge of the wires used, whether they are solid or stranded, and exactly how the wires coming from the individual channels were consolidated together ... looks like you used some kind of special plug to bring them together? What plug was used?

I've been looking for a way to make them a constant varitable bench top supply using all it potential. the supply you built seems to do this. I've been told to get a variants, step up step down transformer board and even a dimmer. problem is nothing will ha dle my watts and amps. can you please help.

      It's a switch mode power supply and only outputs as much current as the device it's running pulls, I'm sure you could probably set a maximum limit despite what the application demanded but unless you're doing it for test bench purposes for powering car amps at low current to for repairs or something it wouldn't probably make much sense.

    Is there any way to make this output 24 volts as opposed to 12? I've looked at DC to DC converters but they aren't rated for high amperage. I need about 1000 watts for my project (an hho torch), and at 12 volts, it's too hot. I need to be able to run it for about 15-20 minutes. Do you have any suggestions?

    Thank you for this VDO upload. I have one Question though, I want to power UP my Sony Xplod car amplifier at home which needs 12V to 15V DC supply with current rating of 26AMP to 35 AMP max, so basically i need 13V/35AMp DC supply. I am currently using SMPS at home for this which gives me 12V/25amp and my car amplifier works fine, but it gets Switch off when I increase the sound, due to may be it needs more current or Voltage...Please suggest why its so....Therefore I am thinking of using a car battery of 14V/35Amp here for smooth amplifier operation but to charge it, your trick may work, but i dont have volmeter. So tell me how much time it will take to charge battery fully with laptop charger without using Voltmeter or multimeter. OR else suggest me how I can get output of 13V/35Amp from SMPS or any other device conencting it to AC power supply at home.....thank you....

    • @150db8
      @150db8 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      if i can remember an have time i will post a video.
      i dont know what inline direct one to use because i dont have eletrical back ground that good. i was following directions. but you can use a pot an set it at what you want.....never touch the pot again an voltage wont ever change unless the conection breaks then it goes back to reg voltage.....
      but yes i used a 1k pot. i have solderd a 100k ohm resistor directly to the board to raise OVP from 14.3 to 15.3 but my pot only allows me to go up to 14.9 an as low as 12.2 i have tried a 5k pot an the low was 13.4 i believe an went to 15.3/15.4 if i turned really slow. at that point over voltage kicked in. i followed the suggestion to do that being the internals are raited for 16v so im safe.

    • @alexoja2918

      You can't change the amperage of an ATX psu. You can combine all the 12V rails to get a few amps total but you can't just increase current while keeping voltage constant. It would be like increasing speed without increasing fuel consumption.

    Nobody can read your paper info.
    On/off switch and pots can't see anything. You show paper with blue and purple marker. Nice coloring, But THAT Is the extent of its usefulness. ..
    Needed to do a video with closeups as you point out the specifics.
    Not very helpful at alll.
    Sorry

    this is dumb, the supply you used to build this costs more than just buying an actual supply with the specs you need.

    It is not about how to build high amp dc power supply. It is about how it look like... Wrong caption. :(

    What the hell needs 12vdc and 130 amps? A Prius? An electric scooter? A battery charger for a golf cart?

    • @51farmalla
      @51farmalla 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, you could use it to jump start cars..maybe...but it will do anything up to 130 amps so you could have a bunch of cigarette lighters lol if youre into that

    Personally I'm not keen on this design.
    1)Three fans screaming???
    2) LED's on back, panel gauge on top, pots & off switch on side???
    2) Panel gauges reading both A & V are readily available & low cost.
    3) Really who needs 130 A??

      Well i kinda need 150 amp in 24volts.. we use an old truck trailer as storage.. it has a loading lid thats need a lot of power. It can now only be done with the batteries.. (2x12v at 150Ah paralel) anyone got any idea how i could fix this.. need it to run without batteries.
