You don't have to have better credit or make more money. I started with $1000 credit limit on amex in less then 6 months they raise my credit limit to $7000
You don’t have to make more money... you can claim your household income as your income.. when my ex boyfriends and I were together my total income was both our incomes combined.
Yeah I screwed up with navy Federal after a divorce and put them in a bankruptcy....now I can never get credit with them ..I really screwed the pooch with them
500 lol my first was 250. That same card I've had since I was 18 now has a limit of 25,800. They usually increase on their own as long as you are keeping them low or paid in full. Don't manually request it hurts you're score, better off signing up and getting a bonus on another card if you're doing a hard pull.

The limit was so small lol but I took it and worked on it. Because if that it helped my credit and I believe that’s what made me finally get approved for navy fed with such a high limit. He is right about Amex. I have an Amex every day card. Started with a 10K limit. Within a year they bumped it up to 33K. Then I changed jobs where I was able to use my personal card for business expenses and they re-imburse me. (think mega rewards points) I wanted to keep my business expenses separate from my personal finances so I called Amex and I got the Delta Platinum card. They started me off with a 20K limit and did not even pull my credit. Pretty amazing.
B T I’ve been requesting through the app but, I’m going to start calling to make sure it’s a soft pull on my credit. It took about two years. They usually counter my high request for instance, my last jump was from $19,000 and I requested $30,000.
Great Video Brian, thanks. One small detail IMO you didn't mention or emphasize enough is the fact that requesting limit increases usually involves a "Hard Inquiry" that can effect one's credit score, even though it is considered a "Low Impact" on your overall score. this category can remain on your record up to two years. Also, if you have let's say nine or more of these Hard Inquiries, it can raise red flags. Just a thought, thanks again for a great video!!!

Hmmm, was expecting to hear something new. I can’t figure out why capital one won’t give me a bigger limit on my oldest card (12 years of use with 2k limit). 750 Fico, 100k+ income my other cards have 16k+ limits. I would cancel it but it’s my oldest credit cars. Only thing I can think of is because I hardly use it,but I hardly use it because the limit is soo low.
Don' use credit, use a debit card/bank account and only buy what you can afford. Ive been doing this for over 40 years and out right own my home, cars, toys etc.
I have 7 cards in my arsenal, and they are as follows: 1 Chase - Freedom UL, 2 Citi - Double Cash/Rewards + , 3 Cap Ones - QS, Savor One, Venture One, and 1 Discover. I have the highest amount of credit with Cap One by far. As a matter of fact, I have more combined Credit with them then my other issuers combined. I have a good relationship with them and have maintained that. They have also given me the highest CL increases (like 6x original amount on one). Discover would be next with CL increase amount availability.
I know it's off topic but could you make a video on how medical bills impact your credit score and can you get denied for a credit card if you have unpaid medical bills?

Bro it’s because of you, I’ve went fr a 6k credit limit to a 18k credit limit in 6 months w/ Amex. In 6 months, I requested a triple increase and I was immediately granted. I also have a personal savings account as well as a blue business plus credit card w/ Amex. Thanks Again, Mann! Whenever you get a chance, I would love for you to do a breakdown video of Amex blue business plus cc.
Good for you bro. I asked for an increase cl I WAS DENIED. YHEN I TRIED GETING A LOWE APR ALSO DENIED BY AMEX WAS LIKE OK I GUESS I WILL STOP USING AMEX. I HVE HAD THAT CASH REWARDS BLUE CARD FOR OVER 3 YEARS.
My wife and I never asks for credit limit increases, but her card automatically increases every two years. She now has a credit limit of $14k on each card; while, mines is stuck at $6500 each card and never increases itself (we both have same cards). And I’m more financially responsible than her and keep a low utilization. I also have a slightly higher credit score than her in the low 800’s. I’m petty af, so I won’t go beg the bank to increase my credit limit. If they don’t acknowledge my financial responsibility or want my business, then so be it. I’ll go get it somewhere else. 🤷🏻
Don't get Capital One's credit card. I have 5 cards and that one is the lowest ($500). When I asked for an increase, they said I don't spend enough. Which is fuckin crazy considering that's a GOOD thing.
What you need to do is use about 400 from the capital card every month and pay it off by the due date. Pay whatever bill's you have. That's what they mean when they say you do not spend enough.
I have four cards that I never ever use. I like to OVERPAY, I leave less than a dollar monthly. And then totally forget about the card. Do you approve?
When applying for a credit card that’s based on your current credit score, is your FICO or Vantage score taken more into consideration for an approval/denial??
Navy Federal has been most generous, and I’ve their Flagship card. Started with an initial limit of $7.5k, and about two years later I’m at $35k. American Express follows with an initial $1k two years ago with the Blue Magnet. I now have both the Gold and Platinum personal cards with spending power of about $20k. I paid my bills on time, occasionally carried a limit, and only request increases every six months.
I should say... A strategy I’ve found helpful is mentioning that I never let my utilization on individual cards exceed 10 percent. Mentioning that has occasionally turned a “no” into a yes. Since my payment and credit history show that it helps. I then mention that a low limit prevents me from making a purchase. That one-two punch - along with the previously mentioned - helps a lot... An annual income of $145k is a boon too.
@@DB-jj8hb Omg me too! Reduced credit limit was made on 4/24/2020, I just found out 5/14/2020!!!! The credit card company never contacted me! I got a "credit alert" $10K gone! 😥
I had two cards with 12k and 15k limits cancel them with 10 + years of perfect payments and the others keep lowering the limits every time i reach a thousand dollars less. I’m pissed to say the least
I just got the Apple Card and love the benefits even though it’s not the best for rewards. It’s my 1st rewards card though and I got a decent credit limit not 10k though haha.. This is making me curious since you say chase sapphire starts at 10k or was it the reserve card? I’d think the applicants would need a high score to qualify. Also, my current card can increase by a soft pull. That’s not going to be on my report or affect my score right? Just double checking. I took a slight hit on my score 5-10 just for the Apple Card which is an awesome looking card! 💳
I love this guys advice on how to get credit line increases "Have good credit". Excellent advice. Its just funny how "having good credit" often comes down to the crapshoot that life is sometimes. Some of us have parents who stole thousands of dollars from us and maxed out a credit card. Some of us have parents who bought us our first house. Sometimes you blow a transmission and need to charge it, then get laid off after 4 years. Its just all a matter of perspective and basically, luck. Be born into a shitty situation? Well, screw you. Thats life I guess. Be put in a position to fail from the moment you turn 18? Oh well. Just hey "Have good credit".
This is a great video. Having good credit, though, can definitely boil down to what life has thrown at you...divorce, a lay-off, having to take a medical leave from work etc...I noticed that in the begjnning of the video, the guy mentioned that having good credit is having self - control. That's simply not always the case. Sometimes LIFE happens...forcing you to re-build...

Ain't no way I'm gonna apply for the chase sapphire reserve 😂 that annual fee is more then my annual car insurance lmao
Seriously
300 annual credit
@@thelostone777 it's up to $550.

Clock review channel if you ask me.
My score just reached 685. And I requested capital for credit limit increase but got denied.
Does the credit card company pull a hard inquiry or a soft one when deciding whether to approve for a credit limit increase?
Felix Shraga depends on the financial institution, I would ask them before they check
Hard
Usually hard
Hard inquiry
Do you suggest going for a business card or personal first when you apply? Obviously the less credit pulls, the better
Hay brain I really love your vids they are really awsome I always come to watch I just want you to know I appreciate your time and effort

My chase freedom has the highest limit. I just got it in October I’m waiting to see if they increase my limit even more.

I had two cards with 12k and 15k limits cancel them with 10 + years of perfect payments and the others keep lowering the limits every time i reach a thousand dollars less. I’m pissed to say the least
Navy federal cards are the Goat o was approved for two cards $20,000 each.. The best!!
I hope this will make people change. That's why I want you to know I'm starting with the man in the mirror

This has been very great information. Thank you very much
What are your thoughts about inquiries when it come to getting a better credit card
I subscribed because I like the way you speak. Lol.
I love this guys advice on how to get credit line increases
"Have good credit".
You shouldn’t have to use credit for emergencies if you save for them. You obviously don’t put money up and live check to check.
