Agree. I think that is the biggest problem with the ranked mode thus far. Gimmicky character like ling, yoshi, the bears (and so on) will be extremely tedious to play against. Me being a yoshi main myself, I feel like it takes away a lot of the deeper mind games and ways of setting up your opponents with oki.
Now with the bo3 you’ll not utilize your full kit of 150ish moves, and only resort to cheese. Him like the others will become tedious as fuck to play against. And with how every yoshi is different, so will many other characters be played differently depending on the player. I feel like it’ll take away a lot of the fun and enjoyment of stomping on people only relying on cheese and gimmicks by downloading them.
You also can only play them 2 out of 3. No more the possibility for long sets
I hope it's well maintained and kept in check, as Tekken 7's rank system is heavily diluted. That system would've worked well if people used it fairly, yet it was exploited. If that's the same repeated scenario, then I will focus on my smaller victories rather than the rank itself.
Counterpoint: that's what you should have been doing in the 1st place. The rank system just got you to do it.

I find it better then the system im tekken 7 to be honest because I heard in the mid ranks often you dont find someone after a few minutes. I cant verify that but I find it weird that you only can get demoted to warrior make it to the first green rank and thats it because you can fall lower.
I like the new system more except for the no losing points until warrior part, this feels very silly and useless
I compare Warrior to Gold in SF6 now. Technically its easy to get there cause you don't really lose anything on the way there, its like the basic level but there's still going to be a lot of people now quite there yet.
Really curious is experience gain/loss calculations will change, considering there will be greater player skill level variance within +/-2 ranks.
They will probably add more rank levels with updates (dlcs), like they did with 7, which didn't start and finish with the same number of ranks in total.
You will definitely fight players with the same amount of skills.
It propably offers: plus or minus 1
