I talky appreciate Melinda sharing what life is like when she was younger growing up. Melinda's mom taught her well. Never forget where you come from. Thanks for sharing.

I do and hope she does too. Sometimes I think she forgets and some days I can tell she remembers.

I agree. And I think we are all guilty of taking things for granted in one way or another.
That's why it's always good, from time to time, to step back.. Slow down.. And appreciate things more

Hi James with that red iron roofing I thought you said the edge that goes over the top is the one flat at bottom.
    I could be wrong.
The over top one is the smaller one as this prevents capillary and any water can escape/dry out.

you heard me wrong. The flat leg goes down against the purlin or rafter.

@TexasFilipino that's great news. We have family in Manila that have are dealing with a second round of flooding. At least they took our advice and moved all everything to the second floor :)

Top of the morning to you two!
First coffee in hand, day after day before here in balmy Dubai!
I literally don't feel a day older than 68, although that's the case today, haha!
    Anyway...
The cantina is going to be great to provide handy provisions for guests...
Good to see the team back at it, I'm sure this season will be more massive improvement...
As usual, looking forward to viewing the progress...
Okay, back to work for me...
    Have a good week!
    🙏🙏🙏

Am curious, how far out the shoreline, would have been, when Mel was a chld.
Where she was walking, perhaps it was all coconut trees, jungle? And the shoreline, out where the boys were fishing?
Presumably this filmed prior to the dreaded dengue. But happy to see you well enough now, to post James. Best regards from Pangasinan!
Cant wait for the next bike trip, when you are up to it. We just acquired a Suzuki 125 Bergman, i personally dont like scooters, but the kids( early twenties! Lol) prefer them! Lol

No! it's a young coconut and we don't take on direct typhoons like the east side of the country does. Usually if a coconut goes down here in our area it is because No.1 Washing of the root ball No.2 It is very old No.3 it has a disease or insects which is usually from them whacking on them too much or too deep with a bolo. If we ever see it suffering we will remove it.

You’re running out of land to build on! I think you need to buy more if you want to continue your hobby of building. How much are beach lots to buy now? I know the price is up but a good long-term investment.

Mel has a good grounding in economics 101! She appreciates her life with you, while remembering where she used to be. Keep some $$$ for tomorrow is good thinking Mel. Keep some for next month - even better - just like a squirrel hiding nuts. Be careful James. Watch where she hides yr nuts. 🫢
