And the help of the towns that they are in. And the states. Like Massachusetts and it's legislators showing us everyday their concern.
It's about employees knowing for years and telling no one because they are scared they will lose their jobs like my mother was scared.
If we leave this story as is and dont change our thinking in mass town after town it will happen again and again and then who do we all blame?
      The cops knew.
      The employees knew.
The families of these folk knew.
      Yet it will happen again.
That tells you volumes about these folk.
      And what they face.
      So whats to be done?
      Nothing.
      Again.

In 1975 with a population of 216 million, the US had a total of 1.5 million hospital beds. In 2020 while the population had increased to 330 million, the total number of hospital beds decreased to 925,000. We've been going down the wrong road for decades.

One reason is that insurance doesn't pay for people to stay in the hospital over 24 hours so fewer people are staying overnight. I had cervical spine surgery and was sent home the same day.

It didn’t produce the greed, it, like so many other not for profit industries, has suffered because of it. So many important things in our lives are run like a business or just stripped of resources, if any chance, to be the service we need.
Billionaires need to be outlawed. Greed cannot be allowed to run rampant as it always has been.

This is not just about for-profit health care, though they are certainly heavily involved. The so-called not-for-profit healthcare systems are often church related (usually catholic) & they are also closing hospitals. Eugene Oregon, the 2nd largest city in Oregon, no longer has a hospital since "Peace" Health, the catholic system prevalent in the northwest, closed their one hospital in Eugene, claiming that they were losing millions b/c it was "underutilized." But their hospital in a smaller neighboring city (more conservative) was left open. I don't personally believe for one second that these religious-owned hospitals aren't funneling money to their parent religions. They are no better than the for-profit bloodsuckers. The American health system is broken beyond all repair. Healthcare should be nationalized---it won't be perfect but it will at least be better and affordable.

It's not just maximizing profits. Venture Capital loves to take their debts and drop them on to things they buy out for the purpose of bankruptcies to clear those debts. They buy properties in a way that allows them to do this scheme.
Yet ordinary americans can't claim school loan debt in a bankruptcy, and medical debt can drain out the social security the person has earned for decades.

Sad to watch. Greed that ruins a system that potential could work, depending on pure mindset.
A balanced system between capitalism or free marked and socialistic coloured benefits for citizens will be more fair.
The power in administrative sector and investores in healthcare is obscure. Running healthcare sector as maximun profit business is inappropriate.
One danger in public tax funded healthcare, in my humble opinion is, that the use might increase extremely or unnessesary. That is one issue in Denmark. Waiting lists.
Another issue, I think is, that public funded healthcare is not run as a business, but a public spending.
It's easy to "fail" in the citizens expectations.
I'm convinced, that there will be needed more hospitals and personel, creating more jobs.
I'm also convinced that health insurrance companies will be challenged in this propose of future healthcare in the US.
For all struggling american citizens with health issues or healthy, I would state that it makes a big diffrence in daily life to know that diseases or accidents will make absolutely no threats to my economic situation.
But it's a balance, of course.
