Girl!!! I'm in the same boat!!! I've had dandruff/ eczema on my scalp and I'm sooo self conscious about it... and having dark hair makes it sooo much worse!! Please tell me what kind of shampoo and conditioner they recommend for you... I would try anything at this point!!
Anna Griffith mix an egg white and a lemon together then apply it all over your scalp, leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes, wash with head & shoulders shampoo (the one that's for dandruff) that one really worked amazing for me and I noticed that it helped my hair from breaking a lot and having a bunch of split ends or you can use any other shampoo you want but one that is specifically for dandruff is always a little better, I hope this helped you, have a nice day😊
Anna Griffith take a regular shower preferably at night wash hair how you usually would and then at the end of the shower pour some vinagre mixed with water and then leave the hair air dry and the next day get in the shower and wet your hair if it smells like vinagre but you don't need to rewash the hair, after the 3rd time of doing this you'll see how clean your scalp is

Mariah Kilgore Same. I've been dealing with that since I'm a kid. i literally tried everything, special shampoos, oil mask, egg mask, lemons... I'm kinda desperate to this point. I just wash my hair every 2 to 3 days, even though I have natural dry curly hair (we're supposed to wash only once a week)
Mariah Kilgore I have seborrheic eczema so I used to experience a lot of dandruff. I found out that one of the triggers for my eczema was SLS (sodium laureth sulphate), SLES, ALS and ALES (look them up). When I found out I decided to cut down my shampoo little by little until I wasn't shampooing/conditioning at all and my dandruff went away 😁
Try tea tree oil guys! really helped my sister, add a few drops to your shampoo or massage it into your scalp before bed!
I have seborrheic dermatitis and i'm currently on clobetasol 0.05% shampoo and neutrogena t/sal perscribed by my dermatologist and it's not working at all. I have to wash my hair every night or else it's disastrous

erin you might have a dry scalp and not dandruff. i have the same thing (itchy, it's there no matter how much i scrub my scalp in the shower, comes out in big chunks) and i thought it was dandruff too. it's just a dry scalp, just like dry skin on your hands or something, but on your scalp. there's shampoos specifically for that!
I agree, there are different causes to dry flakes on the scalp. Actual dandruff is caused by a fungal imbalance, she probably just has dry skin like you said. I'm surprised how these "experts" took one look at her and didn't say anything about the other possibilities causing her issues.
I have the same issue. I went to a dermatologist to check my scalp out and he said that I have psoriasis. It’s way different than dandruff.

michelle philipsen me too!! I use to have dandruff because I use to wash my hair every other day but not anymore since I do it once a week. I don't use dry shampoo either even though maybe I should since my hair gets so oily
I wash my hair every other day. I also have a couple dry shampoos I use that don't produce white stuff in my dark hair. One if Pantene & the other is Nexus. Both fabulous!
Natalie Martin it i have very thick hair so for me its better to wash it once a week if i want it not to be so saggy but if you have thin hair maybe wash it 2 times a week but dry shampoo is a no go for me then it gets so oily😷 sorry for the bad english im dutch😂😂
Angela Romell i think you have short hair? then it isnt so bad to wash it a bit often 3 times a weer or so but if you use dry shampoo and leave it in youre hair its like sleeping with makeup on for youre scalp it cant breathe then so dry shampoo is actually really bad

Hey I use Wen and I love it. I've used it for years and have had no negative effects. My color looks great all the time. Give it a try. I know there was a group of 2,000... that had issues. I was not one of them and I've used it for about 7 years.
You both looked great afterwards. Treat yourself. If you go to a beauty college you can get a lot of services at a reduced price and instructors are always around making sure you have a great experience.

ive had dandruff all my life and i have tried tones of dandruff shampoos and nothing has worked. I tried head and shoulders and surprisingly it worked. my head is not itchy and there are only very few flakes. im glad i finally found something that works.

buse g It is, but not the way Erin did it. Her problem was using so much dry shampoo & the fact that when she did wash it she would scrub too hard and lather shampoo 4 or 5 times.

buse g well honestly don't wash your hair every day it will make it oily because your hair gets use to it being washed every day so when it is not washed it becomes oily if you are going to change when you wash your hair be consistent so your gets use to the change the same goes for changing what you use its OK to experiment but do it for a little while so that way your hair has time to react also check bottles like shampoo there is more to it than shampoo you have shampoos that help hydrate your hair and other things to always base what you use on what you need if you are not sure ask a professional for help as for washing your hair once a week I honestly don't know just not every day.

Mozaleski I doubt it, when dandruff comes of in chunks it means that there is a combination of oily and dry hair, so when it it is dry the body reacts and almost over does it in the oil department
