After spending a few weeks exploring southern Thailand and very popular well know tourism destinations. We are invited up north to the lest traveled region go Thailand by international travellers, Issan is where Ben’s uncle lives with his thai wife and daughter. we get a third class train from central Bangkok to Don Mueang there we get a 10 hour overnight train ti Upon Ratchathani.

Hello and welcome to our channel,
We are Reanne and Ben living in Portsmouth, England. We have been together from the age of 15.
We brought our first house together at 23, got married at 25 and Reanne started her own business at 27.
We have been wanting to travel the world for the last couple of year but covid put a stop to it.
The day has finally come we have sold our business and packed everything we own into storage, rented our house to explore as much of the world as we can in one year.

Haha, I've tried the 3rd class train which is free.
I rode it down to the south of the country for a distance of 1000 km.
Of course, I didn't pay the fare, but the end result was extremely exhausting.
I ran out of money on food. Drinks and energy The next day, I slept soundly all day.
I really like to ride the train because I can see the nature on both sides of the road and meet a lot of people. can smell the smell of each area which is different
In fact, the train has food carts to serve tourists, so it's fun to sit and eat and look at the nature.
Back then, various beers and liqueurs were sold on trains.
But because of some idiots it is now banned.
I'll just say that drinking el gorhor while traveling is awesome.
But that's probably not possible at the moment.

Glad you’re going to Isan , the road less travelled. 👍 we’ve done a few road trips around the region , it’s proper Thailand 🇹🇭. The first train station you were at is Hua Lamphong , that is or was the main train station and I’m pretty sure you didn’t need to go to Don Mueang (old bangkok airport) to catch that train , I think you could’ve caught it at Hua Lamphong itself. Don’t forget to visit that beer bottle temple ! Ben’s Mecca 😂 enjoy Isan guys 😘
Just to add to any confusion, Don Muang airport is the old , original international airport , the new one for quite some time now is Suvarnabhumi Airport. A long way from where you were , it’s at Lat Krabang. They have bag storage at Hua Lamphong train station as well. You’d get the overnight to Chiang Mai from here as well. You could’ve caught the train from there and saved Bhat and stress getting to Don Muang for no reason 😊
Yer think we could of got a train direct abit later in the day gonna be really interesting to get away from the tourist destinations and see abit of the real Thailand thanks for watching 😊

1st &2nd train with air con is better especially sleeper train
2rd & 3rd class with fan only advantage is cheap price and easy to take photo outside window
Yes agree we like the cheap price for this trip we done the 1st class sleeper samrut Thani to Bangkok very good but expensive so we don’t mind abit of both good to film too 😊❤️

Interesting video of your trip. Third class looked clean and so much better than the simple benches I remember from a short couple of hours trip some years ago. The toilets looked so good on your overnight train. Thinks certainly look a lot easier nowadays. Look forward to seeing more of your trips.

Going to other provinces, it is recommended to take a bus at Mo Chit 2 station.❤❤❤

Alternately, one can take the buses from ‘Mochit’ Bus Terminal (approx. 2 km from Mochit train station)
This is the Northern Bus Terminal, buses going north and all Issan (Esan) provinces. Cost about 800~900 baht.
Bus will made a stop over for quick night snack & toilet ‘business’ 20 min.
Journey to Nakhon Phanom (a province besides Mekong River) will takes 12hrs.

If you have a flight ticket from Don Mueang to another destination, then you can get a FREE shuttle bus from Suvarnabhumi to Don Mueang. So why spend money and time in a train ??
