See recording function is bit tricky and doesn't work sometime, however you can give it a try to recording, all you need to do as
Insert a memory card and While playing track and when you are ready to sing, long press the rec button it will produce a beep or in some models there is no beep but something will be there to indicate that recording function is activated. Now you start singing and once done, press rec button again to save the recording file.
Switch to TF mode there will be your track, which will start play itself. Hope you finds this useful.
