I knew a place once that was wonderful and family oriented but they built a highway through it, and then the condo kings and shopping mall moguls came and wiped it from existence.

Thieves stealing everything ! Identities, land ,natural resources, elections ,freedom of speech the list goes on and on . Proving once again there is no honor among thieves.

Like Night Stalker . Poor Kolchak could never get the editor to print his story.

How about that episode of Suspense where the man went back in time to prevent the assassination of Abraham Lincoln?

You'd like Dimension X & X Minus One both are Sci Fi thriller and Suspense!

This is awesome! You impress me, Chilly! Now this is almost profound. Geologists, leave them to try to do it scientifically. I've lived long enough to know. Even I know different. Even Brian Pollack leaves an open mind, Einstein also explains there are things that cannot be understood, and Bertrand Russell had,a few things to day. People believe in God but there is no physical. If God us believed, why not Satan?

As mankind is so easily swayed and corrupted by evil, Satan becomes God.

This episode demonstrates an example of the psychological phenomenon of human beings' strong propensity to blame or find fault with people who are victims of misfortune. It is a self-protective device which allows the observer to feel safer. It is both irrational and incredibly common. There's probably barely a day that goes by that you couldn't find an example of it in the news, debates or discussions.

    To ChillySunshine:
By any chance did you dig out your old train set to create the artwork for this story?
(I could be wrong, you know)

    • @ChillySunshine
      @ChillySunshine  8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Not mine, I never had anything that elaborate but I did like the idea that a vanished town was like a train set that could be picked up and moved.

This is like a dream I had several years ago. It was the town over the dunes, that closed up at 6 pm. You had to be back in from the world outside where everyone worked. As you drove up over the dunes along the river the road took you to the check point guarded by Andy Griffith the town sheriff. Life was right from out of the 1950's America mi us the racism, bigotry, homophobia, sexual awakening and police abuse. People were safe and happy in the small town. The town was called New Smyrna. Life was a simple summer town, with the town square, porch swings and city Hall. Everyone was friendly and helpful. No one had a gun, there was no need. A single sheriff patrolled the town , he carried no weapon. It was one of those dreams so real that I went
looking for the town when I awoke the next day. I was convinced it was real. Everyone thought I was nuts. Later that night I went back in my dreams and met Erin and the coffee shop. My heart was pounding. Erin was my dream girl. One night coming home to New Smyrna was a detour sign posted at the main town gate. It was all rusted and rusted. A heavy brass lock clasped on a heavy chain woven through the gate post. New Smyrna was closed and locked off. For weeks I truly believed the town existed, but I could never return. Then one day in July I took a road trip to Florida. Just off I95 near Jacksonville I spotted a road sign for New Smyrna, turn left 4 miles. The town was dilapidated and a bonded. The criss cross street were filled with old wooden bungalow summer homes. However the town was vacant, not a soul to be had. Everything was so familiar to me. I spent the night wandering the streets looking for Erin. She was not to,be found. It's 50 years past that time now. I retired and living in Florida in a small town off the dunes called New Smyrna. It's just my wife and I Erin settled here
Erin and I love here now together.

Sounds like a horrible, liberal nut case nightmare....hopefully after November, we can continue to get back to the ways things SHOULD be...

Sadly, it’ll take a miracle, for things to get back to the way they were. Gas prices are outta sight…& food costs are speeding right alongside…..w/no relief in sight. The pandemic fell right into step, right on time. What lies before us….who knows?! As Himan Brown said…. “Places disappeared.” Why? Interesting story….Fantasy? Or, possibility?

I hate these kinds of stories...most people want to see justice done in a story. This kind of writing is just lazy...they are just too lazy to write a good ending, something that will fit in the time limit. The heroine is left bloody an beaten, her virtue stolen, and then...goodbye, see you next time.

Himan Brown is a radio legend going back to the 1940’s with Inner sanctum mysteries and others. By the time he was narrating these for NPR in the early 2000s he was extremely old I think he does a good job all things considered

Roger Scott Cathey I second that!!! Her voice really grates on my nerves...and I can’t get the picture of an older Asian woman out of my head every time I hear her voice...and I have no idea what she looked like yet...about to google...now I’m back, more confused than ever. A quick look brought up several women, so not sure which one was her...more investigating is warranted, but she ain’t Asian lol

If they didn't say it was Hyman Brown I would've thought it was EGM. Hyman Brown sounds quite similar in my opinion.
