He also talked about how hard it was to find and how he’s probably just bad at searching. Turns out it’s the latter.

He has a degree in mechanical engineering. Although he never bothered to use it because he went into comedy instead.

Many fans do not realize Martling had a series of Howard-must-read-live daily commercial spots, specified down to the exact hour of day, guaranteed in his contract. He used them for his own questionable Jokeland merchandise, yes, but, more shrewdly, he (re)sold the air time to other vendors + products as a tertiary revenue stream, probably grossing as much there as from his stand-up gigs. This underhanded business-savvy may have fueled some of Stern's relentless Jackie-bashing.
If not for the booze, and Nancy Sirianni, Martling could have been making Gene Simmons money. He might even have pulled it off with Nancy OR the booze, but not both together. Jackie's maybe not top-level talent, but he is very quick, and had a real affinity for raking in the Benjamins, as proven by his (now-unsustainable) five Californian bungalows.

Jackie was wealthy, he is still hilarious. A very known comic. He Fred, and Billy West made Stern huge in the early 90s. Stern would always make it to the top, he's great. But Jordan always needed, Pippen, Grant, Rodman, and Harper for his rings

@nickfrankie261 listen to how all over the place and disjointed this podcast is, it's terrible! Howard was master of the puppets. He gave the most entertaining and attention grabbing shows for decades by using the entire staff and wack pack in the light he chose.
Don't underestimate Howard just because you don't understand him. He was PT Barnum to a bunch of weirdos, nuts, and freaks. Without Howard all of them would be nobody's with the exception of Billy West - Billy was a stand alone power house talent and his body of work is proof.
