The rotary switch,to enable coil-split and paralel/series is the most impractical thing,I've seen in a while. You can get this with a normal 5-way blade and a push-pull or better a push-push on the volume knob. I have an older PRS Cu24(2007 model),which has a similar rotary switch,as a pickup selector and it's the most impractical system ever, specially if you tend to switch a lot between neck/bridge pickup, like I do.
I disagree - if you're trying to use the rotary on this guitar mid-song, it would definitely be a pain in the ass. BUT what it allows you to do is select the sound beforehand so when you go to that middle position it gives you one of those 4 sounds - it's kind of genius really. A 5-way switch leaves more room for error on the fly in my opinion, and a push-pull has only 2 possible combinations. Having only a rotary switch for pickup selector sounds like a fucking nightmare though hahaha, PRS fucked up on that one
For a nearly $4000 guitar with a floyd, I'd expect locking tuners just for ease of restringing. I have the fixed 6 string TAT Special and I feel like the rotary switch is really unnecessary and inconvenient. I'd rather just have a 5 way Schaller megaswitch. Just my two cents. Also Caparison claims that the extra heel at the neck joint is for better neck stability.
If you think a caparison guitar sounds great. Wait till you experience playing one ( any model!)Try one out and you'd never want to put it down. If you cant afford it steal one.
That's some brute force you got there, awesome playing man! i have a question that's been lingering for a while and hope you can answer. what do you think of the rp1000 as a budget floor board for live/practice use? is it any better than the pod hd? any other suggestions for the same price range? I'm playing a 7 string in standard B through a 6505+ and the tone I'm looking for is somewhere in between a My Dying Bride / YOB kinda sound. Versatility and quality sound are the key.
Locking tuners will not replace a locking nut anyway. Locking tuners will still turn when you use a trem without a locking nut. They're pretty much just for easy stringing. Excellent playing by the way. I'm always impressed with your skill.
Abraxas Mesomedes Wut? It's literally impossible for a post to turn when the screw that drives its gear doesn't move. The problem with traditional tuners is the string slipping from the post when the tension decreases with tremolo usage. Although it's true they don't replace a locking nut, though. A regular nut just adds friction points
Fabián Riquelme when you lock the string in locking tuners, the post still turns. Also you can increase tension with some trems which can turn the tuning post.
The string has tension, but only a couple millimeters of leverage. If your posts are turning despite adjusting the knob screws properly, they're broken. But more likely, the string is allowed to move elsewhere, or your strings are stretching out.
Thanks man! There's no gate on this at all though. If you're referring to the opening lead bit, it's all palm muted, so that could be what you're hearing.
Cool guitar but honestly it reminded me of a schecter banshee lol. $4000 seems like a rip off imo atleast the could get locking tuners and some more exotic woods or atleast a finish that is more appealing than plain flamed maple. But hey who the fuck am I right

Hey! If you have to choose between Caparison TAT 7 and Mayones Regius 7 PRO - which one would you pick and why?

Seems like a great guitar. Cool demo!
Great guita, great demo
1:24 i love this solo! Trey, you should record the song from the Toneforge video on entirely, it's amazing.
Finally the sound quality is on the game :D
Just dropped the like right at the beginning :) Cheers!
Jelly bean inlays and elf shoe headstock. So metal
killer! any intonation issues with the heavier gauge strings?
None, just had a bitch of a time setting it up again, but that's nobody's fault but my own haha
i play .56 on my low B and it is tight. .68 sounds thicc as frick for B
I play a .70 in drop Ab on the low end lok
awesome playing, the gate is killing your note sustain, back it off a tad next time or push it a little harder.

Meu sonho
The rotary switch is not practical because those ph pickups are kinda meh.

dude haha Caparison it's not a rip off in anyways
