I drove one of those Kllm freightliner cab overs in 1991.The set back axles commonly called a bus. Yeah kllm didn’t believe in putting fuel gage in the truck. You had to use a yard stick to dip the tank and the reason given was fuel gages didn’t work. Kllm didn’t put mud flaps on these cab over tractors, either freightliner or International. See it’s illegal to drive bobtail without mud flaps . So Kllm made sure to be legal you had to stay connected to the trailer even when laid over for a few days. In the winter the fuel would turn to gel, there was no tank heaters so you bought it. The heat in the cab like everything else hardly worked. The trucks were dirty and slip seated regularly.
I was part of the first class when they started the school 10 years ago great experience. This where my trucking career started I'm grateful for the opportunity

I worked there for 17 years , maintenance.
I'm waiting to hear back now to see if I have been accepted into the Burns Harbor Academy for KLLM. I'm so excited!!
