I strongly agree with your desert map issue. Its one of the main reasons why i want all foliage and terrain options available in sandbox regardless of what biome you use.
About the trees, yes, I had the same experience. When I was building JP San Diego in Sandbox, I disliked how few & far between they were. This was the most challenging when I was building the area around the Jurassic Park gate for the Ford Explorer tour, which I feel should always look epic & somewhat claustrophobic, like in the movie. I had to surround the track with rocks & two hills to emulate the feeling that I wanted.
It actually makes sense that the foliage is way apart from each other, its a desert after all, deserts barely have any trees. BTW, I really like these types of exhibits where the exhibit is like a mini park instead of being one exhibit.
Could you do a Petting Zoo? You could use the Decorations as a small Fence and the smoll Dinos with it! Also, I don't personally mind the Desert Exhibits being Empty, I liked your build a lot (Slightly more than the Hadrosaurus Build even though that looked amazing!)but If you use the Brush right and Terrain correctly you can make it look pretty good but I do agree for the Visitor Zones we need Indualvial Placable trees for not just the Desert but all the Biomes.
The desert map is one of my favourite maps, I like the fact that it’s empty it feels a lot more realistic. Deserts aren’t full of green trees and bright flowers there empty with little to no plant life

The tourist screams send me every time. Evo, every time you release a new tip video I think to myself, " There's no way she can top this exhibit." And then you release a bigger and better one. Big attractions are the best! I feel like I have to be in the right mood to build in the dessert maps, and when I do I try to make it interesting with the brightest and bluest dino skins possible.

How I got around the desert biome foliage issue is by just varying up the foliage brushes. As most of us know, if you paint something in, delete it, and repaint it again in the same exact spot it will be the same exact foliage. So I just do my best to fill in those gaps with other tree brushes to create density. You really just have to play with it and switch between brushes often to find something that looks nice.
Another awesome park! At this point i almost want to just watch you make parks more than I want to play the game haha. Same about the foliage brush, tho! Maybe it's just coincidence for me - but it seems like it's predetermined where a brush will and will not place trees, and the brush is only really turning the predetermined mapping on or off, not actually spawning trees where you're clicking? Just in some some maps, and some brushes, trying to add a very localised plot of trees is impossible, bc if you tree the entire area you can see that there's a designated bald spot in the plan exactly where you were planning to have trees. I haven't tested it thoroughly to see which maps/ if it was just happenstance the handful of instances I noticed it, but it's a huge pain in the butt!!
Awesome!!!! I love the combination of the Spinosaurus and the Liopleurodon, literally my two favorite species in the roster. I will definitely be recreating this exhibit, but I might try it in the forest biome, maybe the Germany map. Looking forward to Brachiosaurus!! If I could make a request for your next video, a Triassic enclosure for Herrerasaurus and Ceolophysis might make the desert biome both viable and cool. Also, if Frontier listens to fans, more Triassic dinosaurs would be epic!
I think it looks awesome! I recently did a "park" build in the desert that was themed as a military base. I made a runway using paths and used the ranger buildings from the campaign mode as aircraft hangars.
Ik this was from 2 years ago but this helped me out a lot, I was having trouble with creating my first enclosure, but after watching this I was able to make a perfect centerpiece for my park, thank you so much evo!
A cool tip that some people don't know is that fences partially phase through the lagoon walls so if you don't have the biosyn pack you can put smaller fences in the lagoon wall it won't completely disappear but will hide it
It would also be nice to have more terrain customization for every biomes such as caves for more template ones or canyons for the arid biomes. Its true that it looks empty but you cant really place that many trees on a desert, it would be kinda dumb.

This is amazing. I will say I've never built anything with lagoons or aviaries except for in the campaign and one or two challenge modes. Mostly just nervous about building them and I don't know why but when I see you build them I think oh yeah this looks simple and easy and then it looks like trash when I do it lol. I made HEAVY use of the ginkgo (talk fruit) trees when I did my first sandbox San Diego build. When I mixed them with the desert palms they fit a little better, but I agree with the barren nature of the desert biome and think it would benefit from some version of a forest or dense foliage brush.
Spinosaurus looks great in this game and I love the color choices we got for customizing. The only thing it's missing is that iconic roar and some size. A good amount of bulk/muscle around its tail, torso and arms. Slightly bigger skull too. Needs to be taller and a bit more upright. On the JWE2 info page they said it grew 18m long so they really outta scale him up. Really no reason not too.

I built on Arizona and it didn't feel like good enough terrain. As someone who lives in Arizona this left me disappointed because there are plenty of plant in the desert. They could have added chola cactus or ironwood trees. Maybe a saguaro cactus brush.

If your going back to Herbivores, might I suggest and Iguanadon enclosed? Or maybe a Herbivore herd? That'd be awesome! Loved this park build by the way, keep it up!
I can't wait to get JWE2 because I liked the building park stuff from JWE, not so much on the challenges but it wouldn't be interesting without the thought of "oh crap theres an sabotage!"
This comment is a little late but I made a dessert map and something I tried to do in terms of foliage is just mix the leaves with the trees as much as I could to make it feel more full. Otherwise I just stuck to the desert feel and added desert areas and oasis like places in my exibits. I also made an indor exibit with the dinosaur in aviary glitch.
this is an amazing build i would also love to see a secret/spooky exhibit for a dilophosaurus i think i would be amazing love the content keep up the good work and have a merry christmas

They do need to bring back individual trees, along with the redwoods. I still dont understand why they took them out.

I once made a Jurassic North America exhibit on the first game, it consisted of all North American Sauropods with Allosaurus among them. I'm going to see if I can still do that in this game with all creator's multi-species tolerance set to maximum.
I'm doing a drumheller themed park using only canadian dinosaurs (ironically using the southwestern usa map cause it matches the badlands best) and yeah I can definently say I felt the limits of the vegetation even just to make environments look different, let alone barren. For guest areas I've been doing lots of rock gardens
This was so cool and I love what you did with the mountain range in the paddock and I was thinking that kind of design would look good in a carnotaurus paddock maybe in washington

Would love to see an aviary with Geosternbergia, easily my favorite pterosaur. Maybe put right in the middle of an enclosure or next to a lagoon.
