This is absolutely a callback to the Beastie Boys style of 90s hip hop with just enough twist on it to not sound like it's just copying. Ren never fails.
No one, on any Ren reaction has nailed every reference, it’s crazy how even the video production (everything outside of the music) often references other musicians and other videos. Beasties would be proud.
The other two guys are what's called "Hype Men". If you're unfamiliar with the Beastie Boys, you should check 'em out, especially when they have Mixmaster Mike on the turntables. I recommend "3 MC's and 1 DJ". 🔥

Yes they are his friends (it’s actually mainly three different guys across the whole video as well as Ren and the little crowd dancing at the end). One of them (guy in purple suit) is of his best friends and one of the guys who visited Ren in Canada for his birthday just a couple of weeks ago 👍

I guess we need to educate you on the Beastie Boys lol. Great reaction though! Also check out Blind Eyed with Sam Tompkins. Try to do one of the live versions and avoid the official music video. Ren said he regretted reworking the song for the music video and the live versions are how it was meant to be played.
