Another masterpiece from a young organist when he was only 11 years old. How can that be? Well, you have a well disciplined boy who has determination to become a world class organist. And he will achieve that goal. My grandmother took me to church when I was a young boy. I fell in love with the organ and enjoy the music it produces. As a result, I have acquired a good collection of organ music, including all of the compositions of the great historic organists. It is encouraging to see young guys like John Samuel tackling great music like Bach on a majestic pipe organ. Thank you John for inspiring us with your talent. And thanks to your parents to help you with lessons, transportation, and time for you to learn and develop your skills. You are so blessed with supportive parents.
I'm glad that you also like the organ! It's a beautiful instrument with the whole orchestra inside it, and so much power. Thanks for your encouraging words!
@johnsamuellmusic Yes, also mathematical. Bach was a serious genius. Counterpoint is much harder to compose than music in classical style. And he was prolific. His music shows the joy of salvation in Christ. He was a Lutheran. Luther probably got the Bible more completely than Rome or any other reformer. John Warwick Montgomery, a genius with something like 10 earned degrees, 8 on the doctoral level, said he was "dragged kicking and screaming to the foot of the cross". Once there, he sought to find the church that came closest to interpreting the Bible correctly, and settled on the Lutheran church, subsequently becoming a theologian and ordained pastor. Bach's music remains an important part of our heritage. Your music shows a maturity far beyond your years. Keep up the excellent work!
Thanks for sharing the story about J W Montgomery! I'll look him up and read more about him. I'm continuing my studies in harmony, counterpoint, and partimento -- it's amazing stuff. Thanks for your support!
@johnsamuellmusic You're welcome. I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Montgomery some years ago, He was a friend of a friend. Bach was absolutely amazing! I just watched a video about his genius. th-cam.com/video/5NrUiceLz_s/w-d-xo.html I would love to learn how to compose like that. Occasionally, I get Bach-like melodies going through my head, but always when I am nowhere near pen and paper.
John that was outstanding!! So very glad you posted this!! I was waiting for the well deserved bow at the end! 😉😀 I hope you know how exceptional you are. At 11 I could play chop sticks and a couple others on a piano! It just amazes me that you play with both hands and feet with no problem. Your brain must be so powerful! Your IQ must be so high!! Thanks!
Kids, this is what happens when you practice. I'm both envious and regretful that I didn't/don't practice. Amazing precision for any age!
Thanks so much!
Most impressive, John. How long have you been playing the organ?
For this piece, I had been playing for about a year. I started organ when I was 10 and piano at 9.
Well, you can certainly give yourself a big pat on the back. A fine future awaits you.
You are a brilliant player!!! If you get a chance, contact George Baker in Dallas, Texas.
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll look up Mr. Baker.
It's so good, to see young people playing the organ. Look here Luc playing Bach :

Wonderful! I hope he and I will cross paths one day.

Love the different pipe organs there!
Che Bach ti protegga sempre piccolo John. S.D.G.
Thank you! Bach's music is heavenly.
@JohnSamuelMusic Io in onore di Bach, ho chiamato mio figlio Giovanni Sebastiano. Auguri.
