I didn’t think you could make this door any better but I should have known better because it looks so much better. ❤The handle looks great and you distressed that piece of new wood perfectly.❤
The doors and windows look great. And the extension tower turned out amazing. It is finally good to see that cold hallaway looking nice and warm. Great job guys! ❤
I think the door looks so nice. I really like the lever handles too. That's what we have and they're nice when our hands are full, you can use your arm to open it. the whole door is very pleasing.
I like the door, it adds character to your house. I am happy that you were able to reuse the door, and it will provide security from the cold. A job well done, guys. Love your videos
I did the bottom thing inside and outside the door. 😁 The burning looks fine! I like your new handle. The rubber around the door is the best thing ever! It also seals the door tight. I love the door!
The transformation you have done on the old stone house is nothing short of amazing. It takes a lot of time and patience and perseverance to get to where you are 😊 💪👍🐓
Little by little making your house warmer for winter. I lived in Missouri in the early 70s, small town of homes from 1800's to 1950s. In the winter most had thick clear plastic over the windows, including us, the old windows were very drafty.
A thought for your consideration; I like airlock entryways. They are a big help with overall home heating efficiency and comfort. I view the entryway as a transition space from the outside to the inside of my home. So I put a little heat from my central heating system into the entryway - just enough to take the 'chill off' as we say in English. For instance, if it is 0 degrees F outside, I like the entryway to be about 35 - 45 degrees F. Then I can comfortably leave my shoes or boots and coat in the entryway and step into my nice warm house at 65-70 Degrees F. without a blast of 0 degree air following me into the house. leaving your foot wear in the entryway also keeps the foyer hallway floor clean and tidy. Your entryway is a nice big space, so there is lots of room for many snowy, damp shoes and coats! Just sharing my personal experience. I agree with you Dessy. I think you need a big glass door to let in light and the view through your entryway windows. Davide can build one for you - maybe with smaller beveled panes of glass like the old doors. I'm sure you can find another good use for the antique door. ✅
Evie got the mouse. Yay Evie! I’m sure you will be much warmer this winter and it looks great but I just had to give your kitty praise for her good job getting the mouse. ❤️
So love that door! It looks like it organically belongs to the house, if that makes sense? The new handle is lovely. A quick spray later on with matt black if you decide you don’t like the shine, would take a few minutes. ❤ but it’s perfect just the way it is. 😊
David - you’re too hard on yourself 😢. I think the door looks so beautiful !! Burning the side panels, adding the new handle and putting the rubber strips to block the cold !! You’ve done great 🎉 I know that white paint on the walls will brighten up the area and look so fantastic ! ❤❤❤
Love your new door handles & brilliant idea on your draft excluding, I'm so glad it had stopped the cold, I was shocked to see a mouse in your house , the walls are going to make it look amazing ❤❤❤❤❤
Everything looks great. Check your paint supplies and see if you have any flat black paint. Matching the door handle with the hinges would just be the frosting on the cake. Keep up the good work. Peace
Good job. Back when I was a young hillbilly kid my family would repair doors with tin cans by using the top nailed over the old holes and worn wood and to remove the top and bottom then cutting and flatten the can metal to wrap around and square up the worn or broken edges. I believe in shoe polish or acid was used to remove the shine of the metal and to color new wood. Walnuts were rubbed on wood sometimes or soaked in something to make stain. I don't remember. A nice old cork shoved in holes would blend in
Wooden Boat makers use a caulking wick made of many strands of cotton twisted together then stuffed into the spaces between boards in the hull of the boat - that may work well to fill the spaces in your door
If you decide to change the handle on the new door again maybe get a cast iron one from a blacksmith. They would probably make a back plate which will cover the old lock holes. This would match the hinges and really finish it off. I really like the door it does look like it belongs there.
I just added some weather stripping on my door today too. There was this big gap above the door. Now that I filled it it's keeping the heat in so well.
Just get a dry but straight stick or piece of plank and cut a long wooden sliver to push/ glue into the crack. Cover the old door sides of the crack with some metal as you burn it.
I wish you could have gotten the door handle in a black to match the hinges. Is that something that Deivids could paint? Evie is a good mouser, how old is she? I know you have had her a long time. See you next time.
I'm sooo with you on keeping the original door it belongs and has always belonged right where it is. Very good thoughtful decision.
I love that old door! It just looks happy standing there. Looking forward to seeing the painting of the walls.❤️🎄❤️
That feeling of disgust and pride when your cat catches and dispatches a mouse is only something a cat parent can understand.
Love the new handle! Glad your going to keep the door it fits the house perfectly
I didn’t think you could make this door any better but I should have known better because it looks so much better. ❤The handle looks great and you distressed that piece of new wood perfectly.❤
Just what was needed to keep you warm.

This will be the warmest winter ever for you two. it looks great! Every year, things get better ❤
That door looks really good, you did spectacularly well.
A tip you can use tea to dye/ stain the fresh wood to look older. A old tip I got from my teacher 😃
What a good mouser Evie is.
I like the door, it adds character to your house. I am happy that you were able to reuse the door, and it will provide security from the cold. A job well done, guys.
Love your videos
The door insulation strips will help big time !! Well done !! Take a candle like a tall single one and test for drafts
Turned out so beautiful David and Dissey great job

Love the door! Great job and great save for the old door
There are so many broken cats nowadays, but your cat worked perfectly! 😅🐈
Much, much better door handle.🎉
The transformation you have done on the old stone house is nothing short of amazing. It takes a lot of time and patience and perseverance to get to where you are 😊 💪👍🐓
Good Kitty Evie!! Loving the door.. it so fits the look of the home!!
Good kitty!
I love how that door looks. And it's a good thing that it is now less drafty.
I enjoy your daily videos.
Another good video Thanks from Canada
The door looks great, well done! Evie, the master hunter keeps you safe from vermin. ❤
It looks great with the burning
"Rubbers" are Condoms in the US. We call them (door insulation), ' Weather Strips.' (in case you care😆)
Thanks for letting us know 😂
@@DoBeDiff😂 You gave your American listeners some extra humor!

Oh please keep the door ! It’s so beautiful .
I sm glad you are keeping that door. It looks very nice. I love old antique things. The handle looks better with the hinges. 😊
Anything that keeps Old Man Winter at bay is always interesting.
What about the hole above the door handle? Mice can get in there plus a lot of cold air.

Evie very pleased with herself😀

Wird alles schöner wunderbar
If you want the wood to look aged, you could use a thinned vinegar solution and rub the wood with it!

Love that door! And you gotta love Evie 😍
Why don’t you place another radiator in the corner? The walls clearly needs it 😊 And, will the paint stick on the wall when it gets moist again?
Rustic home beautiful rustic door!❤
Much better new handle! More rustic like the door. Great choice
Great update. Getting a door weather-tight is worth its weight in gold. The new door handle looks great with other other hardware on the door.
Those are nice work bib overalls.

I really like the door it does look like it belongs there.
The part at the bottom of the door is called a door sweep.
It's PERFECT! Love it.
You did amazing
Looking great kept doing what u do I’m enjoying the diy🤗
Think the door looks fantastic. Definitely think you should keep it.
I love that door and hope you don't replace it with something new! :D
Beautiful, one of a kind door. Good job.
Brilliant job love the door it really suits the hall way ❤
looks really good
you could use the filler they use one old windows to keep the glass in
Much better handle and love the hinges, well done!
Bravo Evie. Mine just chase them around the house. 😊
I enjoyed watching. I'm waiting for the cat door. Thank you for the video.
Try stuffing string or yarn in the cracks in the door.
Door handle is perfect. Wood filler should work on cracks in door. Log cabins use wood filler and they are oiled.
That door is done go to the next take blankets down❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
The door looks great❤
I just added some weather stripping on my door today too. There was this big gap above the door. Now that I filled it it's keeping the heat in so well.
Looks great nice job
i enjoy your creativity and working with what you have, this was a fun episode. see you tomorrow!!!

Nicely done!
Large piece of Art and a old wide piece of wood with pegs as a coat hanger
mix wood glue and saw dust will fix the door cracks
love your door!

Looks great
Wonderfully! Now all you gave left is that hole, nothing some sawdust and glue or a piece of wood and glue cant fix.
Great job!
ALWAYS GOOD JOB 🎉PERFECTE
Priecājos, ka savedāt kārtībā vecās durvis. Ļoti labi iederas šajā mājā.☺
Evie!! 🥰
Singeing the new wood strip really helped it fade into the background. Not as prominent. Good job.👍
Evie is the star of the show 😂🐭
Please unroll the extension cable the heater will make the cable on the heater heat up the door is looking so good now
Regards

Just get a dry but straight stick or piece of plank and cut a long wooden sliver to push/ glue into the crack.
Cover the old door sides of the crack with some metal as you burn it.
You can field the holes in the hood with hood paist...
You too rock!
Why not put 1 of the brushes on the top of the door like you put on the bottom
I wish you could have gotten the door handle in a black to match the hinges. Is that something that Deivids could paint? Evie is a good mouser, how old is she? I know you have had her a long time. See you next time.
