I passed the life insurance and annuities exam on the first try from using xcel solutions provided by my firm as well as various youtube videos for study help. Now this is the next monster I have to face on my journey to becoming a financial advisor. Have the same manual along with the online portion that Kaplan offers and it seems to be structured very well. Thank you for the tips and advice, crossing my fingers that this one will only take one try as well!

Hey Gerson - it can definitely be! I truly recommend making those chapter outlines specially with the laws that you have to memorize, and do the practice questions. If you put in the time you should be good! Best of luck
I procrastinated and my test is in 2 weeks and I’m just now starting today. If I fail, I still can take it again i just miss out on an extra signing bonus. This is helpful. Hopefully I can kill this in 2 weeks!

Update : I decided not to go for it in those two weeks. My daily schedule is jammed packed leading up to the job so as I started studying, I realized my plate was too full. So I start the job Monday so that’s when the studying is going to begin for me on the company’s schedule

I have a masters in Finance, working as a Risk associate, i just took this exam along with series 7 so that i can work with front facing teams, exams werent too difficult..took about a week to prepare for both
The test by itself none. Once you take one of the other “qualified exams” you’re able to take once you pass the SIE (see 0:35), you become more qualified for a few positions. The most common like I mentioned are wealth management/financial planning (series 7) and investment banking (series 79). Hope this helps!

If your friend has a used one and you can get it for free, that one should do! If not just get the one that you can afford. The questions from the Q Bank will tell you if you’re missing topics (which is unlikely). Best of luck!

@@Cbrchriss different than other Finra exams where they gave a detail breakdown of # of questions by chapters, they don’t do that for SIE. The breakdowns by topics are the ones shown in minute 5:45 of this video. Once again, best is to make sure you know the regulations because those are the parts you are probably the least familiar with. Best of luck!!
With this certification alone nothing. The SIE itself does not allow you to do anything besides taking the qualifying exams (7, 79, etc). After those, depends on the industry and job you go to
