Ren's band The Big Push is absolutely amazing! I really love Romain Axisa, the French guitarist of his band (playing ukelele in the first song), he holds his own especially in his live busking solo guitar work. Gorran Kendall, normally plays bass, and drummer Glenn Chambers is the drummer. The thing about this band is, they all play multiple instruments are amazing singers/songwriters themselves.
The music just happened you look amazing when your happy,I am 57 year old man and I just discovered Ren he is absolutely brilliant I cannot believe how great he is.
You can listen to them do 5 songs, including Bongo Bong, on From Home (Live Nation broadcast) from their, obviously, large & luxurious apartment ;-D during lockdown. Praise You is another fun one & def Sweet Little Lady, the studio version.
Bongo bong is my 8 yr old daughters favorite Big Push song lol also I would love for you to check out Romain Axisa( the guy that started the French verses and was playing the lute) his cover of Blue Moon is awesome! First, I’m loving that you are seeing some of the happy Ren that I think is so important to balance the heavy. Second, I’ve seen reactors in their 70s and 80s, and in their teens and we all sit here in awe. Ren is meant to be doing this. He is meant to be giving us what he is. I’m glad you got into these two songs. It’s such an unexpected departure from Hi Ren / Chinchilla stuff and shows how versatile he is. And then there’s his rap genre which is literally in 4 different decades and all brilliant. It’s so impressive just how multifaceted he is.

Every so often I like to watch some of Ren’s more upbeat videos, and I recommend that you check out the following: “The Big Push - Watch Out (live busking 2020)”. It’s a bit raw compared to some of his other stuff, but I love the reaction of the crowd, particularly the old bloke dancing. For some reason, this cheers me up when I’m having an off day … 😆 It has to be this particular video with the old man dancing in it 😊

As a french guy, this song was my youth. Manu Chao the original singer is really famous in France. Really good artist too. And see Big Push make a cover so good with a french really good. The words in french talked about a break up and a person with death wish. This song was out few month after a break up with a girl who just wanted to tested to be with a "no white dude" (I'm french colombian) in 80'. She leave me because she became racist against me and my friends. This song talked to me and stay in my memory. Big push out this song a put a really persona of them in this track. They did Bongo Bong in a little informal jam session they did on someone's bed that I saw a while back. Ren said he wanted to do that song because it was his favorite. I love Ren...you mentioned high notes....I guess you should check into Pentatonix and start maybe with Hallelujah or Can't Hold Us.
Ren and crew are just plain savages in a very good way of course. I'm glad he pays tribute to one of Europe's best song writers and performers of all time in Manu Chao who wrote this song in late 80s or early 90s with his then band Mano Negra if you like this definitely check him and his band out you will be in for quite a musical treat. I wish these two collaborate I'm a tune together no doubt it would be pure Fuego

This has been the most beautiful taciturn reaction to these songs I've watched 🤗 why can't I push the like button multiple times and make it blow up, YT?!?! 😁 Gorran's bassline in Bongo Bong is extra special 'cos there is no bass in the original and they completely made it their own -- as they of course do. I like their version much better than the original.

You really can't go wrong with anything that Ren or The Big Push has done. But the band did a live busking version of Johnny B Goode that makes my heart sing. It just makes me happy. No matter how piss poor of a mood I'm in or how crazy my bipolar is making me that day that video just puts a smile on my face. So that's my suggestion for something for you to react to that I think you might really like. It's clearly a ukulele. A mandolin has 8 strings and a lute has a minimum of 5 but usually more then that and also a rounded back.

I think the high notes you mentioned was Gorran, don't know if you've found Wade in the water/ nina simone / trouble yet but Gorran shows his blues soul beautiful voice in this one, they are all so talented and are pure magic together ❤

As a french guy, this song was my youth. Manu Chao the original singer is really famous in France. Really good artist too. And see Big Push make a cover so good with a french really good. The words in french talked about a break up and a person with death wish. This song was out few month after a break up with a girl who just wanted to tested to be with a "no white dude" (I'm french colombian) in 80'. She leave me because she became racist against me and my friends. This song talked to me and stay in my memory. Big push out this song a put a really persona of them in this track. Sometimes what seems unfair in life is what makes us stronger. Im 70 and now thankful for some of the difficulties, they made me move on from introspection to a 'this won't beat me" mindset. Life is more fun now than ever. Like you i may never have found Ren and The Big Push and Chinchilla if i hadn't got bolshie😂

They did Bongo Bong in a little informal jam session they did on someone's bed that I saw a while back. Ren said he wanted to do that song because it was his favorite. I love Ren...you mentioned high notes....I guess you should check into Pentatonix and start maybe with Hallelujah or Can't Hold Us.

Ren and crew are just plain savages in a very good way of course. I'm glad he pays tribute to one of Europe's best song writers and performers of all time in Manu Chao who wrote this song in late 80s or early 90s with his then band Mano Negra if you like this definitely check him and his band out you will be in for quite a musical treat. I wish these two collaborate I'm a tune together no doubt it would be pure Fuego

Gorran's bassline in Bongo Bong is extra special 'cos there is no bass in the original and they completely made it their own -- as they of course do. I like their version much better than the original.

Of Ren - check out couple of his catchy rap songs, called power, I’m losing it and genesis. I haven’t checked, but if you have not done the “full version” of the Tale of Jenny and screech - TRILOGY ending w Violets Tale… that is your next assignment ;) ! Also, check out the song he did called Patience - in the early days of the illness, which is an Eerily precursor to Hi Ren when he was full of faith to beat this illness thrust upon him!!

You really can't go wrong with anything that Ren or The Big Push has done. But the band did a live busking version of Johnny B Goode that makes my heart sing. It just makes me happy. No matter how piss poor of a mood I'm in or how crazy my bipolar is making me that day that video just puts a smile on my face. So that's my suggestion for something for you to react to that I think you might really like. This one has Gorran singing and playing rhythm guitar while Ren plays bass.
