    Seems like the most reasonable way to back a currency now would be with a basket of hard assets:
    GOLD
    SILVER
    BTC
    ETH
    and maybe something else...

      A basket of assets sounds like a great idea 👍

      That could be an alternative, but Bitcoin and ethereum are not hard assets

      What Is a Hard Asset?
      A hard asset refers to a tangible asset or resource with fundamental value. Examples of hard assets include a fleet of trucks for the delivery of consumer goods, land, real estate, and commodities.
      Investopedia's definition

      @kurtdewhurst4883 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      "With CFTC-regulated CME Bitcoin futures having traded on that venue for just over three years and CME ETH futures available since February, the argument over whether BTC and ETH are ‘commodities’ or not, from a regulatory perspective, is over. "

    I'm very new to stacking silver. I had some cash that I put aside, seperate from my bank acount.
    Maybe I'm crazy. I ended up buying 50 oz. of Britannias, then I got 50 oz. of Maples. The premiums vs. return is actually better than rounds or bars, based on buy back prices. Both coins sell for well above premium price on the secondary market in Canada.
    I've always been heavily in to antiques and built a rapport with many shop owners.
    Today I messaged a shop owner and friend about coins. I ended up getting 40 Canadian silver dollars at current melt value, which is good up here.
    Still trying to adjust to stacking because I keep looking at face value.
    In the end, all I want is to preserve my modest wealth should things go sideways.
    Thanks for the video!

      You are right! Well recognized coins from sovereign mints have higher premium but they are much easier to resell. Great deal on the Canadian Silver Dollars!
      Thank you for the comment and support!

    You just reminded me I have to purchase the new 2022 “Wedge Tailed Eagle” from the “Perth Mint” from my online “Precious Metals” dealer. I definitely think both “Silver” and “Gold” can back a monetary system, that is, if governments allow it, which I currently think will not happen at a full scale. Most people don’t even have a stack to begin with. Can you imagine the demand that would create? The spot price would be in the triple digits. I hope it happens at some level in the future.

      Russia is already trading oil and gas for gold. In other words, a superpower of the world is again using gold as money. New video on the channel coming probably tomorrow talking about Russia's gold and US sanction.
      The Wedge Tailed Eagle silver coin is amazing! I hope you like yours

      @@P37RU5 I just ordered it, Can’t wait till it comes in, I’m a little annoyed. I just noticed that “2022 Swan” from the “Perth Mint” must have been available recently, but I did not receive any texts from another online dealer (Name Undisclosed) like I normally do, nor did I see them advertised them on their website and now it is out of stock at their website and all I can do is an “Alert Me” message if and when it will be back in stock. I am scouring other websites to see if anyone else has it in stock. Inspite of the sanctions, I don’t think any country will decline payment in “Physical Gold” for any type of commodity. Let’s face it, payment in “Physical Gold” is very to resist, when it comes to two learned people involved in a transaction, let alone two countries that are doing same transaction. I have a never seen a more beautiful Metal then “Physical Gold”, the color, the luster, and the shine. But if Russia wants to do business using “Precious Metals”, then they can even use “Physical Palladium”. Russia is top producer of both “Physical Palladium” and “Physical Platinum”. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not taking sides on the war between “Russia” and “Ukraine”, My perspective is purely neutral and I am just stating the obvious based solely on Russia’s geography and geology, war or no war.

    My personal standards for setting a price are $30 minimum per generic ozt, $35 minimum on Eagle's and I match the going rate on eBay for 90%, having recently sold an ozt of dimes for $40.

    The days of Wall Street gangsters setting silver and gold prices is over. The price is STRICTLY an agreed upon price between buyer and seller without bankster input.😎

      Exactly, and this is why you need to become your own central bank. Make sure you only deposit into your bank the money you need to pay your monthly outgoings, with the rest buy silver. I do not understand why people cannot see the writing on the wall?

    I don’t think currencies would be backed by silver due to the fact that takes a lot of space in vaults to store a high value of silver, differently than gold .

    A lot of physical silver is already approaching $50 in the premiums. But $50 spot price is still way low to sell for. I would not even sell at $500.

    The problem stacking silver is the high premium

    • @tristanmaclennan2989
      @tristanmaclennan2989 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The premium is irrelavant. If you believe that silver will explode later this year, why would you be bothered about a premium? Silver is a case of if you don't have now, you will not get any when it explodes

    I don't see Silver being used as a currency in the future solely because there just isn't enough of it out there. The push for green energy with deplete the world's supply and because of this I see silver reaching $1000/oz.

      Silver is not rare...YET. But the demand is getting higher and higher. Corporations use it for all kinds of products. I think once it becomes more difficult to mine, the price will go up quite a bit. I don't see $1000 an ounce, but who knows!

      I agree. AND, the Bible has many parables (i.e. 10 maidens) telling us that we need to prepare for hard times, not just sit back and say that God will pay my electric bill. We have to get a job and make money to pay our electric bill or the electric company will turn our power off. The things this channel preaches is compatible with Christian living. Just my 2 cents. 😁
