This was an absolute gem of a segment just because it was seemingly dedicated to ribbing on Kenny who, in my opinion, is oftentimes a bit TOO much for the show (he's got some good analysis from the perspective of a guard to contrast the other 2 bigs and he brings a role player perspective compared to the HOFers but you can tell he LOVES the sound of his voice). This entire segment reminded me of that episode of Always Sunny when they're on that family feud knockoff and Dennis can't handle the buzzer because it eats away at his perceived ego: Kenny was reminded bluntly that he's never been on the talk show circuit (and Charles was just brutal putting him down like that which was kinda refreshing to see considering Kenny's only knock against Charles is the 2 championship rings from Hakeem), Kenny was reminded his jersey never got retired (UNC honored his jersey but it isn't retired like MJ or Big Game James), and they just had to remind him he lost to Webber in the race (and while Kenny is correct of the torso having to cross the line, he still lost that race because he was racing with his arms raised and his back straight up whereas Chris actually had a full foot past the line while SLIGHTLY leaning forward to break the tape with his hand. It's not the hand breaking the tape or the foot being across but the slight action that he was leaning JUST ever so forward that actually puts him ahead of Kenny by mere inches). As much as Kenny and his NY brashness may love to indirectly flaunt he's THE reason for the show's popularity, dude needs to learn to take a joke; Johnny Carson, Letterman, Conan, they've all made jokes at the expense of people as nature of their comedic professions but they've participated in BEING the joke/in on the jokes and it endeared them to the audience for it. It's one reason we love Charles and Shaq's gotten better at being ok with ribs being made at his expense (the whole gas mathematics or the Moon is 5 hours away come to mind). Kenny can learn a thing or two from them.
This was hilarious, this is why these guys are great, they go with it no matter if they laughing about themselves, shaq just gotta work on it still tho 😝
