Great video J! Love seeing stuff a bit different I don't see on every other channel. More like this please! Maybe even a video sharpening and edge testing a few knives in these ultra budget steels just to see how they do would be fun.
The back country folder with the orange blade looks like they are trying to give us an affordable Benchmade Tagged Out and I'm here for it. If only it had a crossbar lock
If I was looking to cut out a back strap or some other tight work with a folder where it's blind wet work, I think a back lock is the best option to avoid accidentally unlocking it.
Loved you live on BHQ Jared and was awesome having Kara in the comments talking to us!!! Hope you had a great trip and can’t wait to hear about it in your next live show, need to hear all the juicy details about everything that happened on the trip!!
It's cool to see some Brownings that seem to be a little nicer than the ones I've seen in the past. Obviously they still have that last 10% to go before they're something I'd be totally happy with.
Of course it's hard to tell outright without having them in hand, but they look to be a huge step up from the S&W offerings and a fair amount better than the budget Gerber knives I've handled. That last 10% is pretty big, that's where all of the fit, finish, and small details are. They still look a lot better than I'm used to seeing out of Browning. The crap steel on a couple of them are a different story, I agree that anything below 8cr is unacceptable over $10.
That flex and cracking sound was scary. Gun company branded knives are often just, you know... There are some exceptions but S&W, Browning, Winchester, etc, etc.
When a model/company has consistent off centering, it's often because their blades (or casts/molds) are off, and the blades aren't straight. Spyderco tenacious had this problem. Everyone noticed how the centering was off at the exact same spot, and when I got mine I confirmed it was because the blade itself wasn't straight. Funnily, people also noticed how it seemed to magically cut better. Guess why? Again, caused by the blade not being straight.
Jerad, your channel is my go to channel. So, I do tend to ask a lot of questions w my fingers crossed that you or someone else with knowledge will answer. I appreciate both. Just wondering what your experience has been with Tuya Knives. It's a new brand to me and I haven't seen any videos cover it, but the knives look pretty good. I've learned a lot this past year but I'm still a humble novice!
Tuya makes great stuff. I have a v4 Envy and a Big Belly. J used to show them alot, and has/had a beautiful early version full ti Envy that I want badly.
This is hilarious this company sent him horrible knives and he's so nice that he's trying to find anything good about them! It's crazy how far behind makers like this are in the knife community!
They need to up the steal to S35VN or higher and move the clip to tip up poket carry and both sides left hand right hand poket carry, fix the sharping choil, we think of browning as Kershaw but when the first started out on day one but didn't learn anything or care about doing things very good, if it's to cheap then do 50 dollar knifes start there make them great for the price point, if u can't do a 10.00 knife very good then u better learn quick or ur beer Goin to make it in the knife world
Gerber, Browning, Smith & Wesson, I could keep on going, these used to be so so knives back in the day and have only gotten worse over the years. Keep hearing negative stuff about Chinese made knives, maybe these knives are made in the factories that use to put out the crap Chinese knives of the 70s or the gas station knives of today. Makes me sick to think about these knives today. Won't ever buy another knife made by any of the three. Thanks Jerad

I’m really like your videos, I was wondering if you have reviewed the Winterblade knives, they look like they would be quality but for the price point I’d like to hear your thoughts
Browning knives used to be higher quality with good materials and 440C. The sheaths and belt pouches were excellent Mexican made leather. I have several, Now they're crap.
Browning why would you want to show these off? Just put them near the checkout and hope people buy them on a whim, you don't want to advertise the quality.. 😄
Yo. Jared... why don't you sponsor a vote, where we, your loyal subjects, can vote our favorite budget knives of 2024. I am curious to see what we, the buying public, would pick as number one.
I am gonna go out on a limb and say no. Reminds me of those $17 M&P style knives made of 6CR or whatever because they don’t say. Steel bricks with no action, thick blades that aren’t sharp. My buddy got me one for a wedding gift for his groomsmen. Granted he got us a lot of gifts better but he didn’t know Ganzo or Civivi existed when he got them.
They need to get with u or another couple knife companys and do 3 or 4 knifes and make sure there perfect and hire two ocd guys or girls that will do there quility control and make sure nothing leaves the building that isn't right period and listen to wat u an other people want and wat everyone else is also doing and do that to the T but think outside the box and push for alil more or no excuses just go for it
Just buy 2 or 3 of the orange $10 Ozark Trails instead. A Kizer Banish is small but is only $10 more. $36 right now and you get a 154cm Wharncliffe button lock with a thumb hole and a front flipper with good micarta. Edit: Actually I think it's a sheepsfoot, not a Wharncliffe. Looks like a wharny tho

We still use our Old Browning. It's a workhorse. Cheers from Australia.

@@henryg683 what! I didn't see that I'm about to go watch that right now.
Came for the 7cr, stayed for the bandaid.
😂
7cR is used mostly in survival knives after all. 😂🤣

The one with the orange blade looks good great video man 👍
I didn’t even know they made knives learn something everyday lol

Yeah, Hogue is the only one that i trust. But they make gun parts, not actual guns lol
The last knife looks like a pocket shredder with that texture and a right pocket clip.
Glad u showed them what a real knife should be at that price so they know, they should work with ganzo they know wat there doing
Can we get some a Neeves branded Band-Aids? They always get free marketing on this channel! Careful J Rod.
@@BrandonGavin_EDC i will see what I can do
the grunts and groans... trying not to rip them too badly... lmao.. 😂😂😂 good self restraint dude!😂
I tend to avoid knives in blister packs.

I have an old gerber but browning would be cool if they aren't bad.

I suppose these aren't the worst of the worst, but they are up there with some pretty bad manufacturers known for their shoddy quality.
He's a good dude.
Browning is like "roast me, daddy"
Gotta care about the Lil things and main things gotta be right everytime, when there good and u see something that isn't it really stands out
