Brilliant! I never bothered to take note of the differences but as you showed the downside of FAG, which I am familiar with, compared to Billion Graves wow that was a surprise. It really pays to listen to genealogy experts because you are also genealogy site tech experts. thank you for another awesome video.
So you know GPS is not exact exact but it will get you close enough It won't give you the exact location of a headstone but will be in the relative vicinity
I am a volunteer Hebrew transcriptionist on Find A Grave. There is also a "notes" section as well as the epitaph. Only problem is we are asked to enter the name in Hebrew, but as an English speaker, I would likely be searching on the English name or its transliteration.
That's good to know! Thanks for adding that. I didn't think about the difficulty when you are an English speaker - so all you folks looking for graves, if it applies... search by the Hebrew name too!
@@AncestryAimee Speaking of Hebrew, almost every grave in Israel has been photographed for Billiongraves and is on the site now. Also found a graveyard on the national road that runs by the Mount of Olives which had some Polish Catholic graves.
BillionGraves may be overlooked due to it being an extremely poor design. It is actually painful to use and I have been doing this stuff for a long time.
I have never heard of Billion Grave's website before and I follow the UK Family History magazine websites. This leads me to wonder whether it is a US orientated set up? It would be helpful in these days when information is international if it could be mentioned that so and so covers mainly US or UK matters or even other countries. Thank you.
Great question and a good suggestion. I’ll work on adding that information. BillionGraves actually has graves listed internationally. They have quite a few in Europe. Check it out and see about where you live.
@@AncestryAimee MyHeritage helped Billiongraves translate the site into more languges, so someone in a foreign country that does not know English but knows one of the about 40 languages can still take photos. And use the site.

Thank you Alannah!
Just jumped on will ck the replay thanks!
Awesome thank you!
This is an awesome video, I have to say you are a very detail oriented person.
Wow, thank you!
You are very welcome. You are great at explaining how to work thru using the sites for research.
I will have to check it out. Sounds interesting because I never heard of that site.
Can’t wait to hear what you think.

True - thanks for adding that!

Thanks so much James. I wasn’t aware of all those on BillionGraves and the partnership with MyHeritage. Thanks for sharing!
This is a good website.
Agreed!

Why do you think it’s a poor design? I appreciate your opinion but I don’t know that I understand it.
Good feedback for them. Find A Grave is owned by Ancestry now so they have a lot of money behind them.

I didn’t know that. Thanks so much for adding the information!!
I cannot find known or unknown graves at Billiongraves. They obviously do not have good information regarding central Georgia.
Thanks for adding that - good to know!
I found this website useless.
That’s too bad.
Didn't help me.
Sorry it didn’t. Good luck with other sites!
Thank you!!! And thanks for being so kind!!!😊
Of course!
