Swiatek made it look like they matched her up with someone from the Junior girls competition. Incredibly Raducanu is the hardcourt slam winner who still has never won a single set on hardcourt vs a Top 10 ranked player what is now 4 seasons later.
I’m Polish based in Warsaw and I can 100% relate to what Iga have said about our winter-weather ☁️ good to see colors other than grey and the sunshine at least on TV lmao ☀️
I’ll take my Polish summer, mate. Fall/winter though? Cold af, sunsets around 3 p.m. and I get emotional everytime sun appears between November-February/March lol
@@reeet-y I’ve never thought about it this way. It might be tough to enjoy the sun when you work 9 to 5 and have sunsets at 6. But in Poland 4 months a year we wake up at 7am and it’s still dark, then through the day it’s often so grey you feel it’s evening all the time, and with the sunset at 3pm you feel exhausted and depressed all winter…
maybe now tournaments will know that Raducanu should not be given preferential court assignments when not playing high ranked opponents. She needs to play side courts and 250s until she can prove she can compete with the big girls
Haha. I see what you did there. You didn't include the year. You're right though, Iga will most definitely win an AO title before she retires. She's still very young. But this year's will be tough with either Aryna or Coco being a potential final's opponent.
Emma has the beautiful tennis style & technique but as she said herself: "When the top player plays perfect..." Iga when plays 'her tennis' is in the different league! Phenomenal tennis! Such a pleasure to watch her master craft! So self-conscious in life and on court! Calm, mentally sharp, emphatic person with no celebrity stardom! Just modest and smart professional cutie! They both respect each other's talent!
The English are in love with their "Raducanu poseur" and yet they have better tennis players who are worth supporting. However, the Raducanu lobby works "miracles" and hence the wild cards for tournaments for this player as if from the novel: "Gone with the Wind"
@@urhekau54setsech Raducanu will always get WCs during grass season in the UK - you just don't refuse your countrywoman who won a slam for the first time since Virginia Wade in 1977. However outside British Island she shouldn't get even one any more. It's just a waste of WC.
Despite the score Emma played fairly well! She held her own in most rallies but let IGA take the final attacking shots too much, and was a bit passive with some of her rally strokes just defending. IGA rarely plays just a defensive shot unless she's on the run or in trouble, but usually every shit she makes is THE best attacking shot at that moment! Which is hard to beat as one slightly passive defensive strike by her opponent and she immediately attacks with almost NO mistakes! If stes at her best she's ALMOST unbeatable!!! 😮
Perhaps you need to know the wild cards she has been given snd the resources she has taken from lta, depriving of other serious talents who treat tennis as a profession rather than a part time job. Then you will understand why we should not give her excuses
Completely classless from Iga not to acknowledge Emma's injury. She's played her 4 times she must have known something was wrong or does she really believe she played well? Literally anyone would have beaten Emma today.
Then she shouldn’t come out and play at all. I would be very disappointed if I paid money to watch her „game”. She was shite from beginning to the end. But her fans will always have an excuse for why she didn’t play well. I think it’s classless from you to take away from someone’s success. You come across as bitter and jealous. Emma’s injuries are only her problem. If you don’t have a strong body maybe you’re not made for tennis, plain and simple.
@magdalenaborek8350 You're right she should have pulled out. I don't know why she played. Maybe she would just rather struggle than pull out through injury. Anyone who watched her other matches woukd have known she were injured. She should have lost in the first round.
@@marvelouspetronela She was definitely injured. Has been since the start of the tournament. She can't move, can't serve and is very underpowered. She has struggled in every match with injury not just today.
@@heatherdrury133she was not injured. The only ingury she suffered was to her ego. It is Iga who did no allow her points, because she was pushing so hard.
I don't understand all the Raducanu hate on the comments. She's a 22 years old Grand Slam champion who is coming from 3 surgeries and making her way - even pushing too hard like playing injured like today. Beat 2 top-40 players in the first slam of the year, had she gotten a bit luckier in the draw and she could be in the final 8 or 16. Very few players are able to beat Iga in a good day, maybe only Sabalenka and Rybakina, I don't get all the bad energy towards a kind girl like Emma. What has she done to you people? What are you projecting on her? Gezz...
For one thing, Raducanu shoots off her mouth with rubbish like "" I can become one of the best athletes in tennis"". (last month). "I can be a dangerous opponent for anyone.” (last week and now we have this today) you don't see Boulter for example saying that sort of rubbish. Maybe she could get away with that if she actually remotely backed it up. Raducanu is the hardcourt slam winner who still has never won a single set on hardcourt vs a Top 10 ranked player what is now into 4 seasons later.
@@huzcerI don't see why being confident is shooting off rubbish. She can be dangerous to any player in wta - see Stuttgart vs Iga last year. For sure playing a phenomenon like Iga when she's in a good day like today will be though for anyone, specially coming from 3 surgeries, in her first tournament of the year. Anyways, I don't see this hate going on players like Bia Haddad, Kasatkina or Ons. I think because Raducanu is young, beautiful and communicates well she unfortunately attracts bad energy from frustrated people on the internet. Not her problem, is it?

Emma is sort of a victim of her own success. Winning US Open from qualifying. Hopes were high but she didn't have a chance to prove her consistency due to injuries. Talent is there but she needs to play more matches, maybe more smaller tournaments because today she was outplayed.
Iga was feeling generous today and didn't wan't Emma to leave empty handed. So she gave Emma a Breadstick and a Bagel on her way back on the plane 😊
Can you explain this joke?
