On the box. It says Kyoko Chef's Knife. But this is not a chef's knife. This is a slicing knife, a 12-inch slicing that they say is a dynamic series brisket knife for meat cutting with a rosewood handle. What I like about it is for 440C stainless steel, which means it's some high-quality stuff.
I get a little thank you card from them for choosing the knife and you get a little Japanese writing there. They do send a very nice introduction to KYOKU knives. They have all kinds of different knives and styles and you check that out and be awesome.
It comes with a blade guard. So when you put it in the you put it in the drawer, it won't get dull. And then the reveal. This is amazing. This is a heck of a knife. As I said, it's 440 C stainless steel. It's very strong. It's made to be durable and it's going to last for a long time. If you have a professional cook in the family and you're looking for a gift, this would be a really good gift.
Now, with the slicing knife, you can see it's scalloped, which means it's going to let go of the product that you're slicing fairly easily. This is a fairly light knife you see right here. That's full 12 inches. This will cut through some hams, some turkeys, and a brisket. When I changed over to a brisket-slicing knife in the barbecue restaurant, I could tell the difference. It was a lot easier to get precise cuts.
It's a really good knife. I'm really excited about this. I can't see that it's a full tang. Meaning I can't see that the blade runs all the way through. That doesn't mean that it doesn't. But looking at this, it doesn't say whether it is or not. But they do say that it has a lifetime warranty. So what about that lifetime warranty as well, It doesn't say any limitation to it. So I guess if it breaks, then you can get a hold of them and get a new one.
I like it. I would buy a dozen of those if I needed them. It's got really nice embellishments. It's a nice strong knife. I like knives, but this one, this one is special to me and I like it.
