The Brett Kollmann effect is that football fans everywhere are much smarter and have a deeper understanding of our beloved game simply by watching his 🐐 videos. Thank you man for sharing your immense knowledge with us it’s greatly appreciated.
You wish. Years after proving it was ever a myth, everyone still claims they _know_ Fields can't read defenses. Even the last time Brett & EJ talked about him it seemed like _they_ were convinced of this. Matt Eberflus must have made quite the deal with whatever demon. Imagine if the Jets found some way to unlock Zach Wilson & he suddenly produced 2X as many points. Imagine 3 weeks later they returned to using the previous play-calls. Jets fans would grab Hackett & Saleh, and bring them to the closest train or bus station & make damned sure they were on the quickest out of town vehicle when it left. Eberflus called for Fields to Not Throw to certain receivers, got Called Out Publicly on suspicion of this by media _and_ Fields himself (after week 7 of '22) making 'Flus feel like he had to lay off of it & for the next 3 weeks the pre-D.J. Moore *Bears* led the NFL in offense. & then they returned to the previous plays including ordering Fields to Hang Onto The Ball unless some other receiver came open. Fields followed his HC's commands. All you fans & "people who get smarter listening to Brett" responded by Blaming Fields for losing those games.
You know what you did Kollmann enjoy the deserved spike in viewers on this quality piece of content that totally did not curse my favorite teams best pass rusher.
As a Lions fan from birth I think it's just great that Hutch is not just a crazy generational talent but that Detroit as a TEAM is in such a good place to utilize his talents to reach actual success. Too many times HOF players careers are amazing in Detroit but get overshadowed by losing seasons.
I love watching a speed rush from Dwight Freeney to have a reference point for a spin move from Dwight Freeney to have a reference point for Aiden Hutchinson’s spin move This is the shit I live for Brett
Oh wow, I can't wait to watch this video about a young, talented NFC North football player with his best years in front of him and who is beloved by all Michigan Wolverine fans playing one of the most important positions in the sport and doing so at a high level! So where's that JJ McCarthy video? Too soon?
@@IdrinkWindexskullemojino he wasn’t.. Aiden put up the numbers he did as the primary pass rusher on his team, taking up most of the attention of the offense. Trayvon got his production off the back of one of the best edges itl. He didn’t have nearly as much attention on him
I think what makes his pressure rates even more insane was the fact Detroit has had NOBODY aside from him his first two years. The person second in sacks lined up from him were John Cominsky and Romeo Okwara who both had 2 total.
@@shadybrain3424McNeil isn’t an edge rusher and Houstan didn’t play till the postseason last year. I’m referring to the pressures he accumulated without someone of the opposite side to aid him
James Houston had 8 and a half sacks 2 years ago. And McNeil had 5.5 sacks last year which matters cause he was taking up double teams in the interior.Otherwise you would have had Hutchinson being blasted with a 30% double team rate like Parsons and Garrett 😂Hutchinson is amazing but you don't have to discredit the Lion's D-Line to emphasise that, we been knowing.
Dj Reader and Marcus Davenport are going to help Hutch out a lot this year along with Levi and Houston being back from injury and Alim taking that next step.
Alim and DJ in the middle could be terrifying. Then you got Dav and Hutch on the outside! On paper we could have the best d line in the league this year
The fact that ANYONE has a higher share of team pressures than Crosby is insane to me. Every Raiders game I watched last season seemed like he by himself on that defense.
Just imagine if the Lions had somehow signed Crosby to their DL! Sure, the money would have been steep, but those two would have just crushed souls on the opposing OL
Not a raiders fan but man when the raiders played the lions last year Crosby looked like a man amongst boys. He was easily the best player on the field. Just shocked he came from eastern Michigan and even more shocked gruden drafted him considering he and mayoc had some of the worst drafts in the last 20 years.
Great vid, Go Blue. Math mistake at 1:10. If elite pass rushers have 25-30% of the pressures, then everyone else has 70-75% of the pressures (not 65-70%).
Sometimes, just before I fall asleep, I can still hear EJ telling me about how QBS is a stat that he developed with Arjun Menon who is now working with the Jets, formerly of PFF, which is how well the teams set the table for their QB. That's how much I watched those videos ha.
I’ve always said about Hutchinson that he has mastered all the basics and not much more (yet) and has paired it with the most insane physical talent and an intensity that is hard to match
I'm a Michigander, so Hutch is my guy. He played high school, college, and now the pros all for the mitten and he seems like an actually decent person.
From Plymouth (still lives there), played HS football in Dearborn, college football in Ann Arbor, and now pro in Detroit. All of which is within a 30-mile radius. He is a local legend!
Power is the biggest determining factor of if a rusher is going to be good in the NFL. Almost every prospect who has some type of potential gets into the league and struggle a bit because they havent gotten adjusted to the power and anchor of NFL offensive linemen. Once they do, they instantly become WMD’s on the edge. What I find more interesting though are power based rushers who come into the league and have to develop counters off their power..
Okay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
I’ve watched hutch play since before he was in hs, he has been a beast and we all knew he was league bound, it’s amazing to see him blossom into such a star especially being that he stayed home
Love the breakdown. Figured you might mention Freeney when you started talking about Hutch's spin. And you're right about Detroit fans, I specifically watch Hutch on every play when he's in, even when he's blocked up by 2 or 3 guys he's worth watching.
I wasn’t excited about Hutch at first, but he really made me a fan just by watching him week after week! The Lions President (who is in charge of the brand) said Hutch has the highest selling jersey on the team!
He was so great to watch in college. I wish he didn't all but dissappear against Georgia, but perhaps that great disappointment propelled him to be so good in the NFL. I'm actually looking forward to watching the Lions this year. That has never happened for me.

Brett, this video was really well done! Hutchinson is impressive, but as a younger fan, I am amazed by the speed of Freeney's spin move. Frame by frame, Hutchinson's full-speed spin move looks like Freeney's in slow motion. Crazy, love the breakdowns.
Aiden Hutchinson Madden rating is 88 this year. Guess that’s what happens when you have three sacks against the Cowboys and the ratings guy is an open Cowboys homer.
Hutchinson is one of the only guys ive ever seen that is fast enough to just plain win off yhe edge with speed, technical enough to bully tackles with 9-7 jams (and spins), and powerful enough to dominate interior linemen inside. Im not even a lions fan, and hes one of my favorite players
My man, my man, my mannnnn. In a real note, it’s staggering to think of how many potential hall of famers this lions roster has. Such an exciting time for Detroit football
Hutch really reminds me of Everson Griffen. They have a similar skill set of moves: Speed to Power, Stab chop/forklift, and the Spin with some finesse counters throw in from time to time
All of this is great! Thanks for the breakdown. He's already pretty damn good at his position, I'm hoping he takes another step and completely dominates with Tyrell Williams as his D-Line coach!
Love Hutch. Don’t think he gets the credit he deserves because the sack numbers aren’t up at the high teens or 20’s. I would have liked to see you show the amount of chips he gets on a game by game basis. The lions have no other outside pass rush threat and teams key on him consistently with chips and doubles.
That’s what’s been amazing about him too. They go into games week by week knowing teams are going to be solely focused on him and he’s still been undeterred. Still young and only getting better too.
