Opening scene from ‘Once Upon A Time In The West’…the entire scene leading up to the “You brought two too many” quote with the facial expressions were epic!
Good question! I’m out West so ranges are long and the critters have good eyesight. But to be honest, I’d choose to be on the hunt that my father killed his elk on. I never got to go hunting with my dad.
The end gunfight in "The Shootist" is my favorite gunfight in any movie. It's my favorite John Wayne movie, and it was his last movie. It's not the craziest fight in a movie, but when you know the context of the entire movie it becomes so meaningful.
I just bought a Remington700 Magpul in 260 with a 1:8 twist barrel. With the avability today of barrel makers you can get whatever twist you want. 260 Remington with the 1:8 twist barrel out performs the 6.5 Creedmore.
I miss Jimmy and I hope the unicorn thing wraps up quickly. However, this was a fun one, as well. One proviso, however. The best state is Texas. Everything is big down here. A guy from New York came down here and fell into a swimming pool. As he came to the surface, he shouted, "Don't flush!"
As someone that lives in northern MN, it is a beautiful state. My wheel house is ready to go, friends flying in on the first so we can chase the Pike on Lake of the Woods as they move into the shallows.
Meatball question- if you notice a complete stranger open their gun case at deer camp what gun and or gun scope combination would impress you the most in a positive and negative manner.
Meatball! Why the 35 Remington needs to be officially fired back up with better bullets and powders! And Cody nailed it on Open Range! Best screen gunfight ever!
@@matttyreeoutdoors i inherited one a few years ago and I haven’t seen ammunition once since then. I know that it brought down at least one elk and I’m sure that it would be a fine hog gun!
@Dr. Froghopper yeah, finding ammo is the weak link for the 35. It's pretty much down to either online buying or getting lucky at a small town shop somewhere. I was lucky enough to find 6 boxes of the hornady leverevolutions at a small shop near me a couple years ago and haven't seen any since. It would be an awesome hog gun for sure! I still think it is a really underappreciated bear round. The energy and bullet diameter are right there in the sweet spot for your typical hardwoods black bear hunts
Best Movie Gunfight. 8:31 Christian Bale. Equilibrium. The clerics of the Tetragramaton (IIRC) are gunfighting monks... And for trivia... Christian Bale bounced from Equilibrium, to the Machinist, and then into Batman Begins. He goes from a very healthy athletic frame in Equilibrium, to the frightening extremely immaciated form in Machinist, and then up over... IIRC... 220 lbs for Batman Begins? The commitment, to those roles, and the punishment he sacrificed in that transition down for machinist... Terrifying, but the performance. Equilibrium, is fantastic, and we get to see Christian Bale, Taye Diggs, and Sean Bean, in a phenomenal movie, with mind blowing, gun kata
Speaking of balistic advantage of caliber swapping an AR how about the 6x45. Super easy to reload and brass is beyond prevalent. Gains you some velocity with increased bullet weight and more bullet options. Uses very little powder and therefore nearly non-existent recoil.
#meatball: assume you are assigned the position of „Q“ at the MI6. Which modern day handgun (free choice of size, caliber) do you choose to hand over to James Bond for his missions?
Best gunfight: Wind River. C’mon, Jeremy Renner as a professional predator hunter sniping guys with a lever-action .45-70!! The whole movie is just awesome, but that gunfight at the end is very real.
Best AR barrel length with no other information? 16" for sure. Whether its a plain 16 or a pin/weld to save roughly 1.5" is up to the user. The NFA exists unfortunately, and 16" just seems to be the proper middle ground of general purpose applications.
He forgot WI manufactures Henry rifles, and is home to Delta Defense USCCA...WI also has great pro sports teams, heck if we had a hockey team we'd probably have a Stanley Cup by now unlike some states... It's ok though they can drown their tears with smuggled in Spotted Cow. Question: They year is 1950, whats your 3 gun set up look like?
11:49 Ryan obviously wants to go back in time... Might be, his best chance, to actually acquire a quality condition 1900s Mannlicher... Won't hurt to reverse inflation either. Ryan might be surprised by missing the encyclopedia archive in his pocket. Mark won't have that problem, he's going to the Future, to print out the News for the next 100 years, and bringing that all back, In the Mark Printouts.
Have y'all never been to the South?? I live in South Georgia and we have the best gun laws and fishing laws, if y'all ever want a taste of the south let me know and I'll show you what you are missing
I agree on Ryan's last comment everyone should be able to appreciate what they have to hunt, here in South Georgia we have everything except for the really big game and we have better fishing and climate so my invite is still open for you to get a reel taste of the south
Gentlemen, Alaska is the greatest state in the nation. Largest state, twice the size of Texas. The largest bears, Largest ungulate, largest salmon, Highest mountain in north America, in fact 17 of the highest 20 mountains in the US are in Alaska. Alaska is the farthest north state, farthest west state, and if you follow the true meridian the farthest east, The longest shoreline of any state, Three million lakes 20 acres or larger, the second largest lake in the US. Oh and they grow world record vegetables in Alaska.
14:45 best state in the union ? easy. utah. why ? because utah is the number one state for firearms per capita. no state restrictions on firearms / suppressors etc. 36 states honor utah's concealed weapon permit. it's the home of john moses browning. every kind of game animal, and terrain - one of only two places with wild buffalo. four seasons. and the best skiing )
Opening scene from ‘Once Upon A Time In The West’…the entire scene leading up to the “You brought two too many” quote with the facial expressions were epic!
Meatball question: You are given the opportunity to hunt with any historical figure you choose. Where, what time period, and what are you hunting?
Dick Cheney?
Hunting with Teddy Roosevelt in Africa
Good question! I’m out West so ranges are long and the critters have good eyesight. But to be honest, I’d choose to be on the hunt that my father killed his elk on. I never got to go hunting with my dad.
Heat bank robbery
It kinda feels like cheating to whip that answer out, which really just proves how good of an answer it is.
Beat me too it. Such an immersive and intense scene.
My man Ryan!!! My heart fluttered when you chose the .350 rem mag! I own one , and I think it is so underrated!
I’d have to go with Tombstone / O.K. Corral for its iconic status in the saga of the American west.
Ryan is the Spock of Vortex.
"Can you hunt stars in in 1923 Ryan?" Hilarious!
“Ample amounts of privates” 😂😂
YES to Open Range, first one in my head
The end gunfight in "The Shootist" is my favorite gunfight in any movie. It's my favorite John Wayne movie, and it was his last movie. It's not the craziest fight in a movie, but when you know the context of the entire movie it becomes so meaningful.
The greatest cartridge ever, 260 Remington, I have 3 in different configurations, love it.
I just bought a Remington700 Magpul in 260 with a 1:8 twist barrel. With the avability today of barrel makers you can get whatever twist you want. 260 Remington with the 1:8 twist barrel out performs the 6.5 Creedmore.
Mark looked like the Wendys drive thru attendant when the Girls Basketball team rolls through! Hit the button boy!
It's Big Jake. That's the best gunfight ever. The variety of guns, the fact that John Wayne is in it, and the dog make it so.
last gunfight scene in 'My Name is Nobody' with Terence Hill and Henry Fonda
Jimmy is from Washington so unicorns are to be expected 😂😂😂
I miss Jimmy and I hope the unicorn thing wraps up quickly. However, this was a fun one, as well. One proviso, however.
The best state is Texas. Everything is big down here. A guy from New York came down here and fell into a swimming pool. As he came to the surface, he shouted, "Don't flush!"
Heat. Bank robbery street gun battle
As someone that lives in northern MN, it is a beautiful state. My wheel house is ready to go, friends flying in on the first so we can chase the Pike on Lake of the Woods as they move into the shallows.
John Wick. End of discussion
Death by pencil?
An specific fight or just the series in general? Because a few instances are actually really, really bad, but the series overall is really good.
25:29
Suspenders or a harness would be almost mandatory for A.
Velcro dog wouldn't worry I guess.
Haha.
Meatball question- if you notice a complete stranger open their gun case at deer camp what gun and or gun scope combination would impress you the most in a positive and negative manner.
The only gunfight scene that should ever be talked about is from HEAT bank scene.
Best Cartridge that never took off is the .338 Federal.
Mark got a little point happy.
And then with your freshly hunted brace of conies, what does one pair that meat with? Some nice golden chips…”what is chips, precious?”
#Meatball : Which are better, cartridges in the 7mm range or .30 caliber?
Gunfight at the O.K. Corral is my favorite. Jason Robards is the best Doc Holliday!
Meatball: Most influential John Moses Browning design/invention.
The shootout outside the trailer in Wind River.
Best gun fight, gotta go with Final shoot out in Pale Rider. YOU!!
Best cartridge that never took off? 244 Remington/6mm Remington
Can we get a 7.5 Swiss cartridge talk soon??
Great intro
MEATBALL: what is the one popular cartridge you would NEVER want
The Wild Bunch!!
Meatball of the Month Submission: If you could hunt in any country for any game, where and what species?!
Meatball! Why the 35 Remington needs to be officially fired back up with better bullets and powders! And Cody nailed it on Open Range! Best screen gunfight ever!
Absolutely agree! I love mine. It's just an old thicket thumper that hits with authority

Meatball would you rather go on a prehistoric hunt or an intergalactic hunt
Best Movie Gunfight.

Christian Bale.
Equilibrium.
The clerics of the Tetragramaton (IIRC) are gunfighting monks...
And for trivia... Christian Bale bounced from Equilibrium, to the Machinist, and then into Batman Begins.

you could make an argument for any doc holiday fighting scene in tombstone
#meatball: assume you are assigned the position of „Q“ at the MI6. Which modern day handgun (free choice of size, caliber) do you choose to hand over to James Bond for his missions?
Best movie gunfight has to be the OK Corral in Tombstone
Heat
The Great State of Tennessee…gun friendly with the Smokey Mountains 👍🫶🏻👍🫶🏻👍🫶🏻
Pin and weld the 13.9 barrel with appropriate muzzle device no tax stamp needed.
Best gunfight: Wind River. C’mon, Jeremy Renner as a professional predator hunter sniping guys with a lever-action .45-70!! The whole movie is just awesome, but that gunfight at the end is very real.
#Meatball... Choose a U.S. war/conflict to fight in based solely on the infantry weaponry.
P.S. .35 Rem 10 Min. Talk
Best AR barrel length with no other information? 16" for sure. Whether its a plain 16 or a pin/weld to save roughly 1.5" is up to the user. The NFA exists unfortunately, and 16" just seems to be the proper middle ground of general purpose applications.
So this is kinda like " Dumb, Dumb and Dummer...", right? Let freedom ring!🗽
I bet in 2123 the 6.5 BC is a commercially available cartridge.
I'm surprised Ryan didn't choose Wind River for Jeremy Renner's .45-70.
best cartridge is the 264 win mag.If not for the rem7mm mag we all would be talking about the 264 win mag...
Meatball question: What hunting/shooting device, that hasn't been invented yet, do you wish existed today?
Wisconsin,
Stop it. That blue state?!
That state that claims its in the midwest but it's really just Canada's balls?
Ryan wins this episode 👏.
I've gott say it man..
Dirty Harry
The plain old .308!
Clint Eastwood gunfights are always good, along with John Wick.
Why wouldn’t you pin & weld the 13.9… you don’t need a pistol brace
#Meatball: If you're consuming tomato soup using a bowl and a spoon, are you drinking it, or eating it?
Any John Wick movie tops anything they presented. Realistic portrayal of how you run out of ammo and always double tap with one in the head.
I am your huckleberry.....
Tombstone-Then Open Range
Poor Cody doesn’t stand a chance against Ryan
Way of the gun
Meatball: best type of cheese?
He forgot WI manufactures Henry rifles, and is home to Delta Defense USCCA...WI also has great pro sports teams, heck if we had a hockey team we'd probably have a Stanley Cup by now unlike some states... It's ok though they can drown their tears with smuggled in Spotted Cow.
Question: They year is 1950, whats your 3 gun set up look like?
I didn't need the picture in my head of Jim in a unicorn costume😆😂🤣. Furry much??
Meatball Question: If you have to live the life of any wild Game and eat their diet what would it be?
Best cartridge that never took off? 7 saum. ADG can't make brass fast enough for it. Has been filling the niche 7 PRC is in since the early 2000s
Open range. Kelvin Costner, Robert Duval
My favorite movie gunfight is The Wild Bunch director cut, the whole movie was great 👍 Sam Peckinpah was the director.
Alec Baldwin's in the movie Rust!.....
No respect for Mami vs Homura in the best gunfight category
11:49

#Meatball If you could change one major historical event, what would it be and why?
"This is America ssooooooo......"
Have y'all never been to the South?? I live in South Georgia and we have the best gun laws and fishing laws, if y'all ever want a taste of the south let me know and I'll show you what you are missing

Mutable offenses. Needs to be a hat
Mark is way to free with the points…..
#Meatballofthemonth Grouse hunting: shotgun wing shooting or western .22 in the head off the tree
Simpler times…. True. Smallpox, polio, no effective antibiotics or vaccines. Sure, simpler times Ryan.
The last 15 minutes of the british movie The Veteran. Great homage to Taxi Driver, and super accurate. Beautiful. But the movie sucks.
TIK TOK?
My Texas is better than yours
14:45
best state in the union ?
easy. utah. why ?
because utah is the number one state for firearms per capita.
no state restrictions on firearms / suppressors etc.
36 states honor utah's concealed weapon permit.
it's the home of john moses browning.
every kind of game animal, and terrain - one of only two places with wild buffalo.
four seasons. and the best skiing )
