- Six major West End stars - Arun Blair-Mangat, Jordan Luke Gage, Layton Williams, Oliver Ormson, Rob Houchen and Marcus Collins, take on the opening song from the award-winning musical.
Someone: It's been awhile since I've heard from my bf. Bet he's cheating on me already.
The boyfriend with his homies:
Keith A.
i’m dying
oh honey...
Keith A. Bet ! 😂
I’m pretty sure none of these guys are her boyfriend. They might steal her boyfriend tho..
Sketchy little things 💀💀💀
Why were these not live audio and why the auto tune :( Ollie was done dirty
James Summers exactly!!
Right?! I think they were all done dirty.
love this, but it's a shame they used so much autotune instead of just putting it into a better key
layton is honestly one of the sweetest people in theatre i’ve ever met 🥺
These talented singers are wonderful naturally, why would you put autotune over them?
Yes!!! Romeo and Arun from & Juliet is Howard. I love it.
Been listening to this on repeat
*me ready to sing* *”listen up let me tell you a sTTOOOORRRRYYY~”*
*them* *skipping half of the song*
Marcus Collins would be the type who'd suggest he play all 6 wives and I'd love every second of it tbh
OMG I LOVE THIS
"Half a dozen"
Shows six eggs
Debating on doing this MYSELF, just me, myself and I. Anyone wanna see it?
They should do the whole musical
Insomnia is Life no they really shouldn’t
This sounds weird but I don’t know why
Autotune.
yeah so why does seymour sound like seymour
Am I the only on who got gay vibes
i’m so sorry but this rubs me up the wrong way. of all the musicals they could have chosen to cover, they just HAD to pick the one where gender plays an essential part? six is for women / nb performers, it was made that way by lucy & toby and is particularly poignant because all of the horrible things the queens suffered through in their lives, i.e the plot of the musical, was because they were WOMEN! it defeats the entire point/objective of the musical by having men sing the parts. i understand they probably had the _best_ intentions doing this but looking at some of the comments here, where people are demanding to see a full show with this male cast... it just leaves me feeling some sort of way. if they’d given it a moment’s thought, maybe they’d realise that six wasn’t the most appropriate musical to do a genderbent cover of. context matters y’all.
no they slayed and gender doesn’t really matter tbh. It’s a show, it’s not 100% accurate lol
It’s not that deep babe. Get over yourself, have you never seen genderbent musicals?
1. i didn’t bash on these guys’ talent, i stan a couple of them as it is & 2. gender does matter though... this show is for women/nb performers and it was written that way as the source material i.e the queens’ lives and the injustices they all faced only happened to them bc they were women. it takes away from the show and it’s very meaning by having the queens portrayed by men. and i explained above that it wouldn’t be as bad if it was just contained to this video as i’m sure these guys had the best intentions but there are comments demanding an entire genderbent show, and that just isn’t appropriate with six.
&;&; cool, fine, whatever but genderbent musicals only work when the genderbending makes sense and is appropriate... most of the time, they’re absolutely harmless but when you’re genderbending real life women who were used and abused in their lives as well as killed just bc they lived in a patriarchal society, in which men saw themselves as superior, then that isn’t appropriate genderbending at all. that _is_ harmful, tone deaf and it just doesn’t make sense to have the queens portrayed by men. bottom line, it’s just problematic.
Why does he casually have a habit laying about? How often is this good man dressing up as a sister? I'm desperately curious now lol
Nicole Ryan LMAO
same 🤣🤣
What are you saying you DON'T have a habit casually laying around?
Wait is that not normal ahahahha
I missed the Great Habit Handout it seems lol
Meh I was hoping to see a Male cover, but half of the singers just tried to sing like the female singers
Why did they put sooo much autotune on their voices??? They are all literally sooo talented and don't need bloody auto tune that ruins it all
maybe because the song was higher (and obviously meant to be sung by a woman) but it kinda get what you meant, it's kinda unnecessary.
I liked it...
@@art1st1cly Male voices could have hit those notes just fine....they just had to get the right ones in on it. The autotune was not needed. It made the song sound really bleh and not nearly as powerful as the females rocking it out without it.
Right?
I agree with you but they probably did it for the style. Six is supposed to be very pop-sounding and I guess one way they tried to channel that was through autotune.
can we have it in a lower pitch + less autotune?
King Winifred agreed!!
Why didn't they pull it down to their actual registers? It sounds forced and some of the Queens i.e. parts of the Sydney cast don't sing this high anyway
Amen. A lot of the tuning was very... questionable
Especially 'Boleyn' and 'Howard'
@@joshpyman9678 exactly what I thought Ollie/boleyn is such a better singer than this
@@fxckmanet its a joke steph
Well, the guy singing Seymore seams to be comfortable on that high register, so he IS singing in his register... but yea, the second guy really was pitchy
Why does this sound like a horrible histories parody when they sing it
Chloe Lay it really does tho
It does haha
i can't unthink that now
Ok it does
This sounds like the difference between the Six album and the performances 😬
Rob Houchen's Seymour is EVERYTHING. He literally was born to be a genderbend Seymour :D
They are west end stars as it says in the title. So they sing on a stage every night with no autotune what so ever. So why auto tune them when we all know they can sing cause they are in the west end.
Why use auto tune on anyone at all? These guys (and anyone that's actually a good singer) don't need it, and people that can't shouldn't be recording music.
Why didn’t they just change the key or the OCTAVE. Just sing lower. It sounds awkward because of all the auto tune, and it’s sad cause all of them can sing really well
Why they did boelyn so dirty
And Oliver Ormson is so talented as well x
ikr
Poor Oliver. He is way to talented, he doesn't need any autotune, let alone the amount that they chucked on his part of the video...
Upload this again without the auto tone - Their west end performers there voices are brilliant. Totally ruins it!
The second Layton said “Divorced” ; I said “oh my god YES”
I'm a big fan of Oliver but for some reason, I'm not a big fan of his Boleyn.
Ollie is incredible, but the amount of auto tune in this was ridiculous
Oli Boleyn is something that I didn't know I needed in my life! 😂
OLLIE AS BOYLEN HAS MADE MY YEAR
I have to say my faves are Ollie Boleyn,Layton cleves and Jordan Howard 🤩
I DID NOT ASK TO BE BLESSED LIKE THIS BUT WTH HOW DID I DESERVE THIS TALENT
This sound like a gone wrong version of the actual song-
The guy who is singing Boleynn’s part is handsome
it sounds cool but the auto tune kinda throws me off
Gender doesn't matter. They're all queens 👑👑 and I Stan them 👌
Anime Nerd but it does... especially in this scenario
@@poppyameiIa it's rly not a big deal, what's ur damage?
poppy harnett calm down
Thank you! Anyone can be a queen! Nowadays, the term is not gendered. It's just a fabulous, cool, respectable person and all these guys are absolute queens!
It does that when the whole show is focused on female empowerment when women in his story where seen as less than men. Yes anyone can be a ‘queen’ but the fact you take a song and show that’s sole focus is to big up women, it does.
It’s okay having a little fun, but not taking in the actual context also says a lot.
Layton finally got his SIX fantasy!!!!
And I thought March of the falsettos was an acid trip 😂
this comment killed me
this is the content i signed up for youtube for
Omg this is amazing 😂 Love Marcus crackingout the eggs on half a dozen! Harmonies on point!
Damn, I did not get it was because of that hahah
This is so cool! I really liked Parr, but that's probably because I have a huge place in my heart for I Don't Need Your Love. Props to all the performers in this awesome video!
😊
OLLIE AS BOLEYN HAS MADE MY YEAR!!!
I’m a simple girl: I see Jordan Luke Gage and I click.
Right?
I don’t know why, but this disturbs me on a whole new level. 😶
Omg Oliver’s in this, actually thrilled!
"Finally a place for men in musical theater ❤️❤️" -Lucy Moss
Jordan Luke Gage as Howard is PERFECT I’M GAGGING
The auto tune... sis come on
THIS IS INCREDIBLE
This sounds like they never listened to the songs and decided to perform it
I don’t really like they decided to take a show about female empowerment and have male covers... kind of defeats the whole object
I love this! This just screams, "We are having too much fun with this!" The autotune, dancing, just a bunch of actors having fun and that is what I want to see!
P.S. I love that Ollie is Anne, it works so well! I love how serious Rob is!
Jesus Christ the autotune
That Seymour left me speechless!
Layton is just
YAS QUEEN
Me: Is a Carrie Hope Fletcher and Oliver Ormson stan, is also obsessed with SIX.
*Sees this video*
Aggressively clicks
Oliver! Mark! Layton!
I'm personally against a genderbent SIX so I'm iffy about this cover. Like it goes against the core theme of the show so ugh
It’s not that deep
Can we have the version without the autotune and reverb? They would sound much better without autotune tbh
Auto tune is pointless and just makes good singers sound bad
Yikes 😬
Boleyn’s solo sounded so auto tune-
Whoever put auto tune in they can leave bc they have so much talent! Xx
jordan as howard is not what i thought i needed today but here we are
I never thought I needed to see this but I did!
This is bad
I wish the auto tune wasn’t there but this is such a great concept.
I mean, they all are great, but damn, Rob Houchen stole the show there.
LAYTON SNAPPED IN THIS
Omg bolyn is handsome!!
I've seen Layton dance a bunch in Bad Education but I've never seen him sing.
Love the guy who played K-Howard
I really wish they’d done this as an actual male cover and in a lower pitch to suit all of their voices
Damn....all these dudes sing so much better than me....Lowkey fantastic tho
this guys are probably really talented but this horrific
Omg Howard reminds me why I'm attracted to me
Taking a song from a musical that concludes women shouldn't have to be defined by men and replacing all the women with men is a choice... 🙄
Mate, they’re all gay. They’re also oppressed babe, clam your tits
@@user-pu2xu2iq9o They're not all gay, Oliver Ormson is in a public relationship with Carrie Hope Fletcher. I also think musical theatre has a lot more time for stories about gay men than about gay women, though I'm not questioning that representation is important. I stand by my opinion that making this video was a bad decision
Are these Toby Marlow's six discarded husbands?
I mean, that was fun.
WHEN IS LEYTON MAKING HIS CLEVES DEBUT?!
i feel like it should be public knowledge that i saw oliver ormson in cats last year and he came out into the audience and sat on my lap and sang to me and i think i went to heaven
oliver prison as boleyn and rob houchen as seymour was the best casting ever!
Omg Jordan did Howard!!!! 😍😍
→ The point of the show
people asking for a genderbent production
THE EGGS AHAHA
Why the auto tune:( they are amazing as they are :((
Oh well, this is perfection, isn't it?
0:55 EXTREME AUTOTUNE
OMG finally! A space for MEN in musical theater!!! It's not like you NEVER see all-female casts for musicals celebrating women and spaces specifically for women to see representation of what they go through!!!!! -3/10 not everything is about men
jeez its just a fun genderswap chill ma’am
@@mypetisloveMSP This is exactly the WRONG musical to genderswap because the struggles these women went through would NEVER have happened if they were men. This musical is celebrating women through different centuries and it's just not something that should be genderswapped. (Also- this opinion is shared by writer Lucy Moss, who isn't thrilled about it, so it's not like I have no basis or like I'm a crazy loner)
Plus it's autotuned and pitchy asf 👀
Lucy Moss made a tweet making fun of people like you so
i would risk it all for jordan howard and arun parr
This is ICONIC. ❤️
Rob as Seymour though 🔥
Omg I remember Layton Williams from school of stars on CBBC. Xx 😂 😂 The song version is funny but amazing at the same xx
I think this would sound more effective in a lower key. They are all splendid singers but their voices are a bit too high here.
If I can sing all of these parts with my lower than alto ass then these professionals can do so without autotune as well, such a shame :(
These parts aren't even that high, most of them have sung higher live on stage eight times a week (the auto tune wrecked it... who decided that was a good idea? They're West End vocalists)
something a bit weird about men singing this,,,, the whole musical is about women getting erased from history :/
surely should've pitched this lower so the men could actually hit the notes in a lower octave?
Need this without auto tune
So yeah U'm gonna need the whole show with this cast
Now that's a Catherine of Nun-agon!
