Cool you follow Big Black NS..they transfer to the Bowden Yard FEC often..No foreign power ever south of JAX...great descriptions of how the JAX rail map works.
Well as the old saying goes: "Somedays you get the Bear and somedays the Bear gets you" (been there/done that umpteen times myself)! Not sure if I hit St Marys before but will be in the "south Georgia piney woods" again in mid January for the RPCA Convention in Cordele (SAM Shortline is host) so you should join in there with your Florida Railroad Museum group from Parrish. It is a guaranteed winner.
That is exactly right my friend. One cannot simply just throw away the day after driving all of the night before…especially when it will take you the whole day to make it home…Ha! I’ll be honest, I’ll likely have to do some convincing to get out museum folks to show to that event, but I’ll definitely put the word out. If nothing else, I might try simply to make an appearance myself. It sounds incredibly intriguing.
Good to know, I greatly appreciate it! Clearly I’m not exactly skilled in that area either…even when one is supposed to come to me, the railroad has other plans. Hey, Happens.
You were only about 20-25 minutes from my home in Fernandina Beach while in Crawford. Many times you can catch 3 southbound NS intermodals there while 330 waits for them to pass! Had you made it to Callahan by about 9:00, you'd caught Amtrak 97, as well as a large freight parade. Didn't know that I032 came through Baldwin headed north. Anyway, hope you enjoyed your trip!
Well, I tell you what, had I even been to Crawford another 30 minutes sooner, I’d have gotten a pretty nice freight parade, but alas, I missed it. There was a whole bunch of action on CSX that morning that I missed out on because I drove all the way over to Fargo. But guess what, it is what it is. I will be back up there to chase some intermodals later this month, so perhaps you’ll have to come out and visit…maybe we won’t the short end of the stick that time…Ha!
@@kotabeaner Drop me a note when/if you’re this way, and perhaps we can meet up! BTW…I actually grew up in Baldwin where my dad was the postmaster…the post office is right at the diamond in Baldwin which you were on both sides of. Both the old tower and the Seaboard passenger station were there as well…both long gone! If you’re up for an old history teacher boring you with “rail tales” of long ago, let me know!!
That doesn’t sound like a bad idea. We’ve got reservations in Folkston from October 29 - November 2, so we’ll be there and around Jacksonville for that time.
Morning Lamar, I figured I’d let you know that I’m up in your area. Today is the last day of our trip and I’ll be around the Jacksonville and Crawford areas before driving home this evening.
Well, I guess the whole Atlanta-swap thing is done every day for Jax trains, but no, it doesn’t make any sense, considering they’ll just swap their own power for more of their own..

The Valdosta diamond is another good place to railfan and its a spot in Blanton, Ga where you can really catch them at high-speed.
Csx freight trains are my favorite trains
I love your railfan videos. so good

Great video! I like how you explain different trains, their destinations and where they come from. Keep up the great work!
Well, it does help to know what you’re looking at, especially when they pull moves like they did to me on this outing…Thank you!

Awesome video buddy u probably feel like it wasn’t the worth train to Fargo Georgia but at the end it ending up did
Well, Dakota........ I'd say you did an excellent job of making chicken salad out of chicken feathers. Quite entertaining. Thanks for the video.
Well let me tell ya…when said chicken costs $3.50+ a gallon, you tend to make the most of it wherever possible…Ha! Thanks for watching, Mike!
Oh boy a new intro

Awesone video Dakota! Always enjoy your longer/narration videos. I can never catch any HU's. Great work!

@@kotabeaner yup! A similar thing happened in this video. 8101 the Central Of GA was on 29F but in Atlanta they switched it to 28R.
