The very idea of comparing one Rano Mandal with a singer of the caliber and brilliance of the great Latajee appears to be repugnant and ludicrous ! The Height Of Excellence that the great Latajee has scaled during her illustrious career spanning over almost six decades as a singer of exceptional merit can't be scaled without sheer hard-work, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to her FON (ART)! It goes without saying that It is not possible for a normal human being unless otherwise he/she is very highly endowed ! To be very true, a novice like Rano Mandal has to be born several times over to fit into the shoes of the great Latajee ! Needless to say that legends like the great Mehdi Hassan Saab, Muhammad Rafi Saab and Latajee are born once in a Millennium ! For me --- the temerity of comparing Rano Mondal with the the larger than life persona and stature of the great Latajee is nothing but an exercise in sheer stupidity, theatrics and publicity gimmick !
