I downloaded a application for rental assistance and there was 33 pages. That's insane. I'm wondering why each state is different when it comes to all this filing and rules to apply . What happens when your landlord reneges on the ERAP agreement and raises the rent. I have contacted the ERAP department and they had no answers because no one has asked this question. I have read everything about the ERAP at least ten times, so any extra info would be greatly appreciated!
I would pay the current rent as per the erap agreement. That was a stipulation to receiving the payment. You pay your current rent for the year. I would keep requesting a new lease so that if Good forbid you are taken to court the following year, you will have proof. I would also report them to housing authority in your area
I am getting stuck on entering the number of people in the apartment. Every time I am getting the same message that I did not enter the information, when I know I did. I am not well and frustrated.

I was over looked and never Received ANY of the 3 - 4 Stimulus packages, I filled for identity theft because someone claimed PAU benefits in my name but not in the state I live in, I was denied for snap ( food stamps ) and financial assistance because I DID NOT MAKE ENOUGH
I applied 3x during Covid for rental assistant and was denied in NYC. I manage to get by with the unemployment benefit I currently received. As a single parent with a child in school I should not have to go through this process over and over again.
@@CATGIRL775 I think that the prior assistant program was more difficult to get...it was only giving 3 month of rent...this program is more straight forward and will cover up to 12 month of rent.
I don't see why you wouldn't when people who don't even have a SSN or ID are qualifying and they're not citizens. I think if you're affected by covid 19 they should help you . Go back and try again and tell them you need help ASAP.

Ny is a scam I been waiting since August have a second eviction notice now and all they say when you call is keep calling back were reviewing your application seriously stop playing games ny and pay the Damm rents

is this a joke? You could. I know someone with an already paid for house, retired with load of cash in the bank applied and got so much unemplyment b/c he worked an after retirement part time before COVID and got UI. He totally did not need it and he is white man.

They pay directly to the landlord

If your application is denied, you go to HRA and apply for the assistance. The ERAP has to be denied first before going to HRA
