Inframan was Hong Kong's attempted venture into Tokusatsu and it was not too cheap as the Monster and hero suit was made in Japan!!!! The same guy who designed Inframan also Designed Kamen Rider ZX!!!!
I remember my dad showed me Inframan when I was like 6 back in the early 90s. I loved it but hadn't seen or heard from it until just the last few years. Thank you, internet.
Inframan was wild. I caught it on cable channel that runs old Chinese movies. Too bad it was too 'Ultraman' (I mean, it uses the same Specium Ray stance). It'll be great if it was somewhat original in style.
@Brian Sanders If you want real "collect video project" from the director, go search "Bitoman" on dailymotion which is a 13 episodes series that came out between 1994 and 2000 (all in French sorry). Those movies is about a group of super heros who can transform into anime/manga characters in a world where basically enemies are also anime/manga characters. For instance, in episode 8, the good guys can transform into Ryu (SF2), Reptile (MK series), Suppaman, Terry Bogard and Kyo Kusanagi and the bad guys are *taking breath* SonGoku, SubZero, Blanka, Buu (DragonBall Z), Ken Washio (Gatchaman), Arale (Dr Slump), Crying Freeman and some random characters. It's literally done with zero budget (robot cardboard), cheesy FX (being made before 2000 don't help) and bad acting but obviously, it's done completely for fun. @Marcosatsu I guess that don't count as a tokusatsu but the episode 12 of Bitoman as a Sentai team as enemies. In a more sad part, the director of France Five/Bitoman managed to get his own TV channel for 11 years... but stopped it about a month ago. The fun part about that is they still have to broadcast until the TV signal is stopped... so they zombified everything just because they still can. And if you want some information about the director or France Five, feel free to ask.
So Alex Pilot, between 2 episodes of Bitoman and France Five, worked for the TV channel "Game One" which talk about videogames and geek/nerd universe. Sebastien Ruchet also worked here. Due to the channel going too mainstream (mostly for financial reason), they both leaved it in 2003 and created the company "Pocket shami" which create TV documentary. In 2007, knowing that a french ISP show the possibility to create a TV channel through internet, they created the TV channel called "Nolife" ("No life" in a single word) who talks about videogame culture, Japanese culture, alternative culture and web production (before those was really famous). Most of the shows concepts was too advanced for the common audience but nowadays, it's quite standard (superplay and face cam players for instance). Due to the audience number who can't be properly measured on that support (only regular TV and cable can be at the time), they couldn't get any real advertisement and had to stop it after only one year... except not ! Ankama, known for Wakfu and Dofus productions, helped the channel financially for a year until the ISP support for advertisement gets better and/or they can broadcast on cable. The problem is it never actually happened during that time and lose the financial support from them. So in attempt to save the channel, they created a paying VOD service that actually worked for years. In the last years, due to the VOD service revenue going down, the channel quality slowly decline until the 11st year where they worked on a really small team and a more mainstream looks. The april 1st 2018, they made a big show that finished by "The channel is saved ! ... April fool... we gonna close the April 8th". The audience, didn't know if that was a joke or not, get the confirmation on the forum, on twitter, on Facebook and on other websites who relayed the news. The April 8th, they made a big show with a compilation of most stuff done during those 11 years, finished it with a big joke (quite funny when some peoples still believed that was the april fool joke) and a "parody" of Nier Automata ending who finished with the slowest fade to black ever (about 2 or 3 hours). Except... it wasn't finished yet ! Due to TV constraints, they still had to continue to broadcast so just after the last show, they "noticed" something wrong with the server : even dead, it's still working (acting studio involved) ! So now, Nolife is now "Nolife zombie" ! With a smaller team involved, the channel only does rebroadcasting and some show that wasn't shown yet. Little joke : they also made an advertisement parody that I made as a suit for Japan expo France (it's a nerd convention). Somewhere in april/may (depend on ISPs), Nolife gets terminated for real. The aftermath : - Alex Pilot worked for Japan Expo France as a cameraman and managed, with Florent Gorges, to get crowdfunded in order to make a documentary about Japanese forgotten videogames. - I know nothing about Sebastien Ruchet yet except he also worked for Japan Expo France. - 2 TV presenter managed to live out of Patreon to make their own show in internet - 1 TV presenter works for Ubisoft - Some still get some attention on nerd conventions - Most get random situation : getting a family, completely get out of nerd medias and unknown situation The aside's part : - Some of the TV show made for Nolife continue to get a good or incredible success : * "Flander's company" web serie get a good success and their "actors" continue to come on nerd convention to sell DVDs and books. * "Noob" web serie get an incredible success being the highest European crowdfunded project getting about 2 millions euros on cumulated projects and continue to produce Web series production, books productions and a videogame in production. They obviously continue to came on nerd convention.
Another note on Rescue Force - it was directed by James McFay/James MacLauren - Mack Hartford from Operation Overdrive. That was how I found out about it!
Seeing these budget toku makes me wonder if you'll ever talk more about fanmade toku like Fuchiayma Ichiban, Power Rangers Grid Defense, 15 Jump Street Ranger and Mutekiba Sentai Aniranger.
Dino Force Brave is technically a Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger sequel/reboot, not Power Rangers. It was just called Power Rangers in South Korea to promote that region's popularity of the American series. Also, Power Rangers HyperForce has no Sentai footage, being a livestream RPG game/Time Force spinoff...
OH MY GOD RAYFORCE! When i first saw the trailer for that i was BLOWN AWAY, it looked incredible! When i heard it never got off the ground...i was almost heartbroken

Being a Filipino, other than Zaido, I wonder if some of our fantasy series can be counted as Toku. Usually, battle costumes in these shows does not fully cover the person's face, more akin to how western superheroes without hoods work. P.S. I do remember we had a MMPR rip-off (IMO they were playing it straight) called Super Ranger Kids, where the main rangers where kids and battled a space fleet, and an antagonist that was more Divatox than Rita. Anyone here remember it?

May I add one more? (maybe other people have already said about this) Coming from Malaysia, "Ryujin Juwara"; the 1st official Malaysian tokusatsu series, which in an adaptation of Japanese superhero series Ryujin Mabuyer; birthed from the collaboration of Malaysian TV production company, Double Vision Pte. Inframan also got popular enough in parts of Europe for a Chinese Kamen Rider adaptation movie to be named after him. Because putting something popular in a movie title even if it has nothing to do with the movie was a surprisingly common and tolerated marketing trick back then. Another Chinese Kamen Rider adaptation was localized as "Frankenstein's Kung Fu Monsters" for the same reason. Also, that latter movie gave Riderman the Rule 63 treatment.
Fun fact, I did the voice over for the intro of that particular episode of Cinemassacre's Monster Madness. Anyway what I remember it was very violent and gory. The scene I remember best was the hero in human form and I think his love interest were being attacked by 2 bug or crab like enemies. Our hero turns into our hero in a red or orange-red suit. The hero grow to a large size and steps on one of the enemies and a rounded blade comes out from his knuckles and he cuts the other enemy in 2. Does that sound familiar? I've been trying to search the internet about what show that Was. Thanks for your help.
Kind of knew from the thumbnail that you'd include Super Inframan. Surprisingly enough, it was from the same studio that gave us the Five Deadly Venoms franchise.
There is a german dub of the Super Inframan called Invasion aus dem Innern der Erde what means Invasion from inside the earth. It was shown in the cinema on April 1, 1976.
(2:43 - 3:17) I don't want to sound too ungrateful and take a risk to offend anyone here... But I really, really, really, really, REALLY wish that "Defender Of The Earth: Rescue Force" wasn't cancelled and instead shown to the world as Australia's second entry into the Tokusatsu universe! Australia is my home country, the place where the best (Possibly worst...) content is shown for many decades to come, so a second Australian Tokusatsu project would be perfect for this country, which is one of the reasons why I want to create "Giga-Beast Men". 🥺😞
Actually, Malaysia did try to make their own toku show but they always end up un-notice because their air in TV2 on wrong time. One of the toku show call Satria Mega and then there Putra that just air this past several weeks ago. There also Ryujin Juwara, which is parody of Japan Ryujin Mabuyer but not really that popular...
I found some pics of Rayforce on ArtStation this evening based on the animation style of Voltron Legendary Defender (another Tokusatsu style show, with colour coded hero armour and an awesome mecha). Just search Rayforce on ArtStation and you'll find the pics...
Actually, you missed a point, but the helmet of the villain in Defender of Earth: Rescue Force, seems to be a modified version of the live action helmet of the "Skullman", featured in "The Skull Man: Prologue of Darkness", and some extra sculpting here and there. Skullman is another Ishinomori hero as I'm sure you know, who had a one shot, and later a 7 volume continuation by Kazuhiko Shimamoto (of "Aoi Honoo" fame). In the last chapter they feature a 2 panel spread connecting the entirety of the Ishinomori hero universe together, as well as Joe Shimamura and Skull from Cyborg 009 appearing.
I think I watched Sfx Fantasy Rayforce's Music Video about 4 years ago. Then I wanted to watch it but forgot its titlte I tried my hardest to find out its name, really thanks letting me know.
I'm working on a pitch for Volkonir. Granted, most of the concept art is currently made with The Sims 4. But it's a start. It's like a Kamen Rider series mixed with a pinch of Mystic Knights, then a dash of Breakout Kings thrown in for good measure.
So I just got up to date with build, and I notice that he's been the only Rider who has been attacked during a Transformation. So I am not sure if this was already asked but which rider has the strongest transformation as in speed, invincibility, power, Defence, and Song/Tune? PS: I am not talking about who is the strongest Rider...
Well, that's the gist of Tokusatsu. Here in america, our tokusatsu shows are shows based on DC and Marvel, it's an umbrella term used to describe action shows that heavily use special effects, making it easier to describe what we're watching (try watching the ongoing Flash series and the recent Kamen Rider, there will be similarities in format!).
Another toku can be found from within youtube! it's a place where bad comics burn. He's gonna teach you all a lesson you should learn. If anyone is going to have a bad comic published, it could be YOUR turn. That's right, Linkara's show can technically be a Toku with the post credits and pre-opening storylines!
Hey, I don't know if you're continuing this series or not but if you do, can you check out Armour X and Ryujin Juwara ? Both are toku shows from Malaysia. It's nice if you can give your opinions on it.
Hey Marcosatsu I'm from Malaysia and we here have a few Tokasatsu series that you might be interested in putting in your video 1. T - Force (cartoon but kinda like Kamen Rider or Garo) 2. Armor X (kinda like Space Sheriff but it's an old video) 3. Ryujin Juwara (sequel to Japanese Ryujin Mabuyer) 4. Vector 58 (imagine transformer type of kamen rider) 5. Adiwira Adiperkasa (this is so far the best from Malaysia)
VYNLT you also have tattooed teenage alien fighters from Beverly hills, vr troopers, big bad beetleborgs, superhuman samurai Syber-Squad, mystic knights of tir na nog, the aqua-bats super show, and Kamen rider dragon Knight. Also, the 80s Dynaman parody dub.
This Insector sun is even form mi city! it was funny seeing places I knew in the background hahah Oh great now I have a lot more to look now... I'm currently watching Giant Saver after entering the tokusentai hype with zyurangers... you can see how I'm lost here hahahah

There is a german dub of the Super Inframan called Invasion aus dem Innern der Erde what means Invasion from inside the earth. It was shown in the cinema on April 1, 1976.
From Malaysia we have Adi Perkasa.
Hey, out of curiosity how would you react to a Kamen Rider-Super Sentai hybrid series. Not like Gorider, but a real hybrid show?
Can you make a video about tokusatsu outside japan version 3?
(2:43 - 3:17) I don't want to sound too ungrateful and take a risk to offend anyone here... But I really, really, really, really, REALLY wish that "Defender Of The Earth: Rescue Force" wasn't cancelled and instead shown to the world as Australia's second entry into the Tokusatsu universe! Australia is my home country, the place where the best (Possibly worst...) content is shown for many decades to come, so a second Australian Tokusatsu project would be perfect for this country, which is one of the reasons why I want to create "Giga-Beast Men". 🥺😞
I cannot believe Marciasatsu stole my content. Flagged and reported!
(Obviously a joke in case anyone wildin)
"I Understood That Reference”
Is Karn Toei?
(Andre Black Nerd voice) "HE IS SABAN!"
i found this one called adiwira adiperkasa and the design look awesome
you might want to chech it out
Actually, Malaysia did try to make their own toku show but they always end up un-notice because their air in TV2 on wrong time.
Please make next part of more tokusatsu outside of Japan
Now do Miniforce in the next entire in the tokusatsu from outside japan series.
I think I watched Sfx Fantasy Rayforce's Music Video about 4 years ago. Then I wanted to watch it but forgot its titlte I tried my hardest to find out its name, really thanks letting me know.

Where's my Mighty Moshin Emo Rangers at?
Thailand have another Tokukatsu and is a series... quite old but I found out after I watched Go-Onger.... Its called Sport Rangers...... Yeah.....
I'm working on a pitch for Volkonir. Granted, most of the concept art is currently made with The Sims 4. But it's a start. It's like a Kamen Rider series mixed with a pinch of Mystic Knights, then a dash of Breakout Kings thrown in for good measure.
Rayforce's suit designs really are gorgeous. So are Deleter's.
Where can I watch Kamen Rider
there was a british one called grusome grannys of gobshot hall
Quick question:
Do you play Kamen rider city war or Super Sentai legend war ?
3:52 Wait, did those mooks made it to Moon Base 13?
So I just got up to date with build, and I notice that he's been the only Rider who has been attacked during a Transformation. So I am not sure if this was already asked but which rider has the strongest transformation as in speed, invincibility, power, Defence, and Song/Tune?
PS:
I am not talking about who is the strongest Rider...
Hotsticks Gaming Shinwolf Yeah would be interesting to see. I know Gaim and Blade had their Riders protected during Henshin.
oh space deleter ive seen the mech toy being sold online before
Hey man, lets talk about Malaysia Tokusatsu Adiwira Adiperkasa, you can look on their youtube channel, Heroes ART Studio
That's right, Linkara's show can technically be a Toku with the post credits and pre-opening storylines!
you forget 1 bro ,"Kamen Rider RH",please check ,its LMAO
5:19 his name is gaim-mu in thailand...
*triggered* well not really
maaaaaaaan, im brazilian and i never heard abt insector sun until now, really lovee the suit design

Hey, I don't know if you're continuing this series or not but if you do, can you check out Armour X and Ryujin Juwara ? Both are toku shows from Malaysia. It's nice if you can give your opinions on it.
You should check out Vectorman, Wild Force, K-Cop, and Genta Force for another video. Those four are Korean Toku!
Was that the opening theme to Amazon season one?
check the music video "On the Rocks" by Ricardo Cruz. you may want to include it in the next list
I loved how toku is so varied
time to watch space DELETORS
the villain of defenders of the earth retro force looks like skull man
what site do you watch legend hero on?
Hey Marcosatsu I'm from Malaysia and we here have a few Tokasatsu series that you might be interested in putting in your video
1. T - Force (cartoon but kinda like Kamen Rider or Garo)
2. Armor X (kinda like Space Sheriff but it's an old video)
3. Ryujin Juwara (sequel to Japanese Ryujin Mabuyer)
4. Vector 58 (imagine transformer type of kamen rider)
5. Adiwira Adiperkasa (this is so far the best from Malaysia)
I here the amazons theme in the background and it makes me happy
So what do you guys think of Power Rangers Beast Morphers design so far?
I concur, everyone who loves toku should watch legend hero
3:47 Friendly Fire is on
Been waiting for this. You should next do ameritoku. I'm wondering if I've been missing anything.
Well apart from Power Rangers and Masked/Kamen Rider, you have Mighty Moshin Emo Rangers that aired on MTV (obviously a parody).
Is France Five truly a TV show, I mean I read somewhere it is, but it feels like a web series.
I remember seeing about 10 years ago a Korean Toku called Erexion.
This Insector sun is even form mi city! it was funny seeing places I knew in the background hahah
Oh great now I have a lot more to look now... I'm currently watching Giant Saver after entering the tokusentai hype with zyurangers... you can see how I'm lost here hahahah
get recommendations from TH-cam ❤keep looking at the rest videos
Fun Fact the upcoming Battle Team 4 is named Thief Force... *Cough Cough* Not Lupinranger.
Please, make a third part.
There is this Taiwanese KR knockoff called Invincible Space Streaker that should be worth mentioning
th-cam.com/video/WkRNfQ0sje4/w-d-xo.html
Ultraman: Towards The Future and Ultraman: The Ultimate Hero are two foreign Ultraman shows (Japanese-Australian and Japanese-American respectively) that were popular in Japan enough that it helped revive Ultraman in the 90's with Ultraman Tiga. Ultraman: TTF was also popular in the US in the 90's as well though oddly enough the US made Ultraman, Ultraman:TUH was never released in the US
Danger 5 is a Aussie Toku comedy set in an alternate WW2 where a multinational team fight off Nazi mecha's and kaiju. Pretty hilarious stuff and actually has decent effects
A Filipino parody of Bioman exists called "BioKids" exist that is a thing
Lastly there is a South Korean OVA toku called "Sparkman" which was made in the late 80's. Pretty cheesy but still worth mentioning
I love your content
Bro Do you know where i could find The Kamen rider build opening by Mana
