this one line in the song just keeps getting at me: ''...got a phone full of numbers and a list full of names, no one to call, not much to say anyway...''
Jane has added, "Petals is about living in LA." Dreamy driving in the hills, historic past-prime pop icons, a sensory overload with no commitment and no regrets...Love it.
superstition future is my favorite song of theirs. holy fuck its pretty. the "cry all the way home" is so comforting like its ok to feel shit sometimes. that song makes me feel so nice
Saw Tops❤ in Dallas TX, Nov. 8th. First time hearing them and live. BEST way to hear her voice for the first time. 😊 I was in the front wearing a costume Men I Trust hat, feeling the music, nodding my head to every song they played that night. When I first heard Petals, I fell in love with it and your voice. ❤ I can't wait to see Tops again! 🙏🏻 Also, I screamed "Don't forget your jacket" when you guys were leaving. Lol, happy they picked it up for you at the end. 😅 Love the jacket by the way!
This album has been helping me so much through my recent breakup. Many of these songs sound like they're singing my internal monologue. Thank you, TOPS, for putting out another masterpiece.
Tops definitely deserve more recognition over here in the UK as I had never heard of them before until I accidentally found them here on YT. I love their sound and I am hooked now...
Their album artwork for "Sugar At The Gate" looks interesting that I can see how it animates. In my perspective, I can see the T-wheel roll in; the O writhing from the ground like worm, which then makes some noise; the P pops from the ground and pings; and the S-shaped hole opens up with a pair of hands trying to get themselves up. Then the words "Sugar at the Gate" are etched in a funky font.
Flying to Krakow in a few hours so I had a little look for any music events that might be on while I'm there. Couldn't believe it when Tops popped up- they play tonight! So funny because I just started listening to them and they were a priority in my holiday playlist ♥️ Such a nice surprise, can't wait :)
First heard this in, of all places, the locker room at my gym. Very addictive, crisp and clean sound. Excellent! Already been to iTunes for the collection.
Some of the people in the video look like people from the 1980’s. I remember a song called Like A Virgin, and that singer seems like she’s in this. Another singer used to sing a song called Beat It. The Beat It singer is in this video, too.
haha love how in second 0.03 the car pulling out did a three wheel motion without hydraulics . Also Jane and the band are amazing and im calling it now,...ill run into you guys on tour. Im manifesting being in the same conversation as you guys and hoping to open for you some day soon . thank you for being amazing at what you do and i cant wait to meet you guys .
"All I wanna do Let the petals fall away All I wanna do is call your name [Verse 1] Last night Last night on earth today I’ll make it worthwhile If you promise to do the same You saw the taillight In the water on the windowpane Did you notice You were scratching the paint? [Pre-Chorus] Got a phone full of numbers And a list full of names No one to call, not much to say [Chorus] All I wanna do Let the petals fall away All I wanna do is call your name [Verse 2] Make it worthwhile Inheritor of the shade Finger pointing Where the light used to lay A long haired heiress With someone else to blame Can you take it If you never get your fame? [Pre-Chorus] Got a phone full of numbers And a list full of names No one to call, not much to say anyway [Chorus] All I wanna do Let the petals fall away All I wanna do is call your name"
These guys remind me of the Legendary Jim Ruiz Group from the mid 90s. I heard Tops a year ago or so, and then today at my gym. I wondered if anyone else hears the similarity.
this one line in the song just keeps getting at me:
''...got a phone full of numbers and a list full of names, no one to call, not much to say anyway...''
Same perception.
Just delete the names and move on, life's too short!

This is 100% timeless and a top-tier pop song. Love it!
Jane has added, "Petals is about living in LA." Dreamy driving in the hills, historic past-prime pop icons, a sensory overload with no commitment and no regrets...Love it.

I don't know why but this song gives me so autumn mood 🍂
Tops definitely deserve more recognition over here in the UK as I had never heard of them before until I accidentally found them here on YT. I love their sound and I am hooked now...
If this doesn't scream 80's Groove, I don't know what does. The video is a perfect fit! I just happened onto this group, fantastic!
This song feels like it finally opens up in the last minute, but I love it when it does.
When Jane starts feeling herself at 2:15
Very refreshing to find music and artist making awesome and different sounds then what's popular. 🤓😍 Long live the free thinkers ✌
Well said

This video is my aesthetic, I love it
Javier Bautista damn I’m one lucky bitch

What a great song. I heard it over the music intercom at Belk's of all places. I got under the speaker and let this song flow down all over me...
Wonderful new wave style, excellent
This song is so good.. so lucky I found it

Are we just going to ignore Jane's '91 Buick Reatta? It's awesome!
Looking forward to the new album, guys! And some shows in L.A., too.
Clicked on this video just cuz I saw that..... no regrets!
It'd be a little more fun if it wasn't such a raggedy beater though
It's a 1990 (not 1991). '91 had different wheels...not that it matters.

One of my favorites from 2017. Wow, this song is already over a year old?!?!
I'm listening to it nonstop and it's 2022.
Now serving up ABBA realness.
Beautiful
Good wind down song. And she's totally dateable. Wow. Gotta love the simplicity in this video and the 80's vibe.

めっちゃええなぁこれ
"All I wanna do
Let the petals fall away
All I wanna do is call your name
[Verse 1]
Last night
Last night on earth today
I’ll make it worthwhile
If you promise to do the same
You saw the taillight
In the water on the windowpane
Did you notice
You were scratching the paint?
[Pre-Chorus]
Got a phone full of numbers
And a list full of names
No one to call, not much to say
[Chorus]
All I wanna do
Let the petals fall away
All I wanna do is call your name
[Verse 2]
Make it worthwhile
Inheritor of the shade
Finger pointing
Where the light used to lay
A long haired heiress
With someone else to blame
Can you take it
If you never get your fame?
[Pre-Chorus]
Got a phone full of numbers
And a list full of names
No one to call, not much to say anyway
[Chorus]
All I wanna do
Let the petals fall away
All I wanna do is call your name"
For real!!!

"Tudo que eu quero fazer

Tudo que eu quero fazer é chamar seu nome
Noite passada
Ontem à noite na terra hoje
vou fazer valer a pena
Se você prometer o mesmo
Você viu a luz traseira

Tudo que eu quero fazer
