No. Brokerage firms want - $5,000 $10,000, or even $50,000.... etc. It's too much money.

Stocks are like lottery bets. You wont get rich with it
to get rich there are 3 options
      1) have a phD university diploma in a field that is well paid
      2) lauching a very sucessfull buisness (you sell more than you invest)
      3) this is the reason of 70% of world wealth. HERITAGE!
The big house in los angeles that your grandpa bought in 1970...who then lend it to your father who also bought a house in 2003...if you sell those 2 houses. You are MILLIONAIRE

I have challenged myself to put away 50% of my monthly income into dividend stocks which is quite easy since I live frugal at 32 without debt. I work as an account executive, and make over $2000. $1000 goes into dividends, and the other $1000 covers my my food plus living expenses. I am seeing improvements in my portfolio, dividends look certain, but I have to attribute this to only to guidance of a licensed fund manager who allocates funds to a plethora of assets. I have to stay disciplined, and remember that I’m in it for the long term. Good luck to everyone and thanks for the great video.

The hardest thing about investing is the fact everyone is trying to take your money or sell a book. I think its best to educate yourself on one product and start from there. There's way too much misinformation and product placement. Most of the time I read books I already know the answer and the get you from A to B while failing to lead you to C. I wish there was a one stop for knowledge but there isn't.

  • @5alidal

I like this guy. He should be a politicians. He talks alot by not really actually saying much. He "answers" questions by not answering them. He states the obvious facts or what the viewer already knows. He then advertises a bunch of books to read (a good source of marketing and sales tactic), some written by himself or others that he possibly got paid to advertise for. I gained zero knowledge for watching this almost 8 minute long video. I appologize for sounding rude and thank you very much.

Some folks are upset that he provided no info about how to invest 1,000, but he did. Educate yourself on investing. For those who don't want to spend money on the books can read through Warren Buffet's annual letters for free. But the biggest tip in my opinion is to buy good companies that are undervalued due to some CORRECTABLE event eg Chipotle back when they were have all those food poisoning problems.

To make it even simpler, Buffet would also recommend for the average person to just invest in an index fund with low fees. An example would be VFINX. When buffet buys something he makes sure that it's good enough to hold onto forever. In general, he doesn't sell. The trick is that you just have to make sure that you don't overpay. The stock market has been racing upward and is probably due for a pullback soon.

I purchased your book Rule #1 and was so excited, but didn't realize I missed the "how to" of finding those numbers, so gave up. Recently discovered Payback Time and purchased it. Started reading but dropped it and picked up Rule #1 walking through it step by step which took me to Yahoo! Money which had changed and which contributed to my not finding the numbers. Got brave and took another look and found tabs I'd missed the first time. I think your advice, which others put down, is wise....educate yourself!!! I will be purchasing Dhandho Investor as soon as I sign off. I'm needless to say excited!!

Since this video fails to teach anything, I'll just give my own (non financial advice) here.
Note that investing is a risk. The more you know, the better, and sometimes it requires a bit of faith that it will follow through.
On that note, look at the company's management history. Is the staff and leadership there stable? Is there a lot of/no infighting?
Are sales coming in at a stable rate?
Is it a name brand? What are the latest news on the name brand?
Does the brand distribute directly to the internet? (brands that do distribute directly to the internet are exposed directly to a different culture than those who do not, and due to the immediacy of the internet, act differently, and act/react exponentially quicker than companies that are not.
Observe the markets; are they seasonal? If a market is seasonal (say, a clothes line/distributor will make more money during christmas due to sales than it would at any other time of the year), then feel free to risk an investment.
Diversify your account. While diversity in real life may not be a good thing, diversifying your investments is quite the opposite; by investing in different companies, such as transit companies, manufacturing, electronics, videogames, or construction companies, you don't stand to immediately collapse the moment the market stops going the way you want it to.
Think of it like pillars supporting a beach house; when it floods and one of the pillars collapse, the house may be completely fine or not, depending on how many other support beams that are also supporting the structure.
Do not waste your money, and do not spend all at once. Your investments will earn you returns over time that you can either spend, or invest with as well.
Do not buy books unless you know what you're buying, as it might not even answer the question you were looking for, the best example being this video. Good luck, whatever.
    Save your money, earn well.
Also if you're investing in gold, order it to be given physically to you; if you're not holding it while the market collapses, your gold may vanish like the money from a bank during a depression. Research into EVERYTHING, as EVERYTHING will effect EVERY stock, one way or another.

  • @pk4life1995
    @pk4life1995 7 ปีที่แล้ว

The first and maybe the most important thing in investing is to have interest. If you do not have this you will most likely fail longer down the road however if you do have an interest for money and investing you will learn about it naturally. First you might ask people in your surrounding how they invest, second advice could be read a lot regarding the subject you intrested in. You can find loads of information and books by just serching google for the topic you after.
Many people just need to find the right attitued in investing. New investors usually think that you have to "gamble" the money however what you must understand is that, yes you can gamble your money "or" you can invest your money in a mature way which you feel comfortable in.
For example when buying a stock you should ask yourself a number of questions, 1. What do I know about this company 2. How do the company make their money 3. How is the company ran 4. What's the future of this company 5. How much money is this company valued and what price do it sell for and so on... for the 5th example "valueation" it's tricky and you will make misstakes but even the greatest investors around the world finds it hard to valueate from time to time depending on the current market and the future of the market.
If you don't know or to lazy to learn you could always invest in "investing companies" which buissness model is investing in other, hopefully good buissnesses that will generate and make your money grow over time. There are numerous of this kind of coampnies out there for you to look at.
And to finish this little advice letter, investing and making your savings grow is a question about time. Most money invested properly will generate more money over "time". So what I'm saying is "time" is one of the most important things in investing your savings.
    Best of luck
    Henrik

Now my problem is why don’t they teach people about money In school?

Yes but I got over it. I started investing in my own business and other people businesses. My family has a family run business so I put some money down and I double it. And lesson learn, take like 10% has rental, 90% for reinvestment. Ones you double your money, take half, to invest in something else and let the other half grow and pay you. The 10% can be adjusted to your need. But this adds up quickly and soon it can sustain you

Although I was interested in investing, the lack of knowledge was the biggest factor of holding me back from persuing it. furthermore, the next problem I had to face was finding the people who knew how to do so. I asked around if I can take a course at one point to no avail. it was by chance of talking to people outside my circle that knew things about investments i was able to catch little pieces of their knowledge that I was able to piece together to have an understanding. Later, I started looking things up online because I now knew what questions to now ask: which kinda led me here (thanks to a computer anylizing my Internet information). I believe you are right: to know how to invest your money, you have to know how to play the game.

Tai Lopez is an insurance salesman that purchased some dating sites and is now selling the 67 steps to getting anything you want out of life: wealth, health, love, and happiness. He claims that his success is because of the mentors he has had in his life. People who comment that he didnt answer the question are the ones who want instant reward without putting in the work. He answered the question which was to educate yourself. If you have the knowledge then the question is moot. If you have to ask the question then you haven't done your homework and you probably should not invest yet until you have. Dont invest what you can NOT AFFORD to lose. If you give a man a fish he will eat for a day...if you TEACH a man to fish he will eat for a lifetime. Knowledge is power.

Well, i'm getting annoyed by some comments here. They say this video has teached them nothing. Well technically thats true, but it gave some leads to chase. And everyone who says you have to buy a book. You don't, you find the same information for free, but probably not as intelligible as in the book and probably in pieces.
I think it's the same as when you are coding, and come up across a problem, you only find bits and pieces of the solution to it. So it involves a lot if reaading, and a lot of frustration. But if you are commited enough to read enough to connect the pieces, you solve your problem. Some things you learn in hours and some things take days.

Hey. You asked a question, so there is my answer. I just turned 20, I am in college, working on nuclear physics degree. I dont have any money to invest. I mean rly none. Couple months ago, I wondered around mining cryptocurrencies. Set it up and make some minor profits (had fixed electricity price in my apartment, so no issue there). I mined around 200 bugs. Take those and started daily trading (cryptocurrency market is extremly volatile, 10% ups and downs are on daily basis). In first two days, I lost half of my money. NVM. I continued with enhanced strategy. Dont go too high, just 2% profit everyday, that was all I wanted. Since then I quadrupled my 100 bugs and keep going on the same rate. If I can keep this, well, I wonder where it can end up.
So, did I thought it is impossible to start with 100 bugs? Yes and I still do. But that wont stop me.

Then when i got to a $100 i bought penny stocks that i knew were devalued because i read everything on the companies i chose for two months and paper traded as well. For four months i did this and then 8 months later ($400 capital) my account was worth $1030. Since then I've continued to invest but mostly educate myself.

Seems like most people here are looking for a way to make quick money. With that mindset, you will never make money. What Phil is saying, if you are listening, is that you need to learn where your idea of investing originated from. And most people learned about investing from people who do not know how to invest. So how to do you invest $1000 like the title suggest? It is by doing research and gaining knowledge of how the financial market/company works from people who knows how to invest...
