  • *Welcome back to my channel, watercolor enthusiasts!*
Today, I'm excited to share with you what I bring when I travel in terms of supplies. Traveling with your watercolor gear can be both fun and challenging, but with the right items, you can capture the beauty of any destination. Here's a peek into my travel essentials:
    *1. Compact Watercolor Set:*
I always bring a portable watercolor set. My go-to is a small, travel-friendly palette that includes a range of colors. It’s lightweight and easy to pack, ensuring I have all the colors I need without taking up too much space.
    *2. Water Brushes:*
Water brushes are a game-changer for painting on the go. They eliminate the need for a separate water container, reducing the mess and making it easier to paint anywhere. I usually bring a few in different sizes for varying brush strokes.
    *3. Sketchbook:*
A high-quality, travel-sized watercolor sketchbook is essential. I prefer one with thick, textured paper that can handle multiple layers of paint. It’s the perfect way to document my journey with quick sketches and detailed paintings.
    *4. Waterproof Pen:*
For adding fine details and outlines, a waterproof pen is a must. I like using a black fine-tip pen that won't bleed when I apply watercolor over it.
    *5. Portable Water Container:*
Even though water brushes are handy, I still carry a collapsible water container for rinsing brushes and mixing colors. It’s compact and convenient, fitting easily into my bag.
    *6. Paper Towels or Tissues:*
Accidents happen, and having a few paper towels or tissues on hand is great for blotting and correcting mistakes. They’re also useful for creating different textures in your paintings.
    *7. Pencil and Eraser:*
Before I start painting, I often sketch out my composition lightly with a pencil. A good quality eraser helps in making corrections without damaging the paper.
    *8. Travel Case:*
All these supplies go into a sturdy, waterproof travel case. It keeps everything organized and protected, ensuring my tools are in top shape no matter where I go.
    *9. Extras:*
I also bring a small spray bottle to keep my paints moist, a masking fluid pen for preserving white spaces, and a few binder clips to hold my sketchbook pages flat on windy days.
Traveling with watercolor supplies allows me to capture the essence of new places and experiences. With these essentials, I'm always ready to paint, no matter where my adventures take me.

The flat tip water brush intrigues me. Do you enjoy using it?
After noticing that I rarely paint an entire picture I switched my palette for a dot card. Along with a couple of fountain pens and water brushes and one softcover sketchbook, it fulfills my art needs for a trip. I share your frustration with the Derwent palette. It's just barely too short for a brush & pen.

It really short. a little confusing. not like it's a small company that doesn't know what is what. what is a dot card?
