ABOUT ME
- I'm Cambodian and Chinese.
- I was born in November of 1983 and raised in Houston, although my heart lays in between Houston and Hawaii.
- "OG KPOP STAN": I've always used the term "OG" (supposedly "original gangster") to define being old-school, and I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Kpop was my coping mechanism from the bullying I experienced in my younger years and it's just stuck by me ever since. Also! Just to be clear: me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" doesn't mean that anyone who's listened to kpop later than me is inferior. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time.😄
- I was a hiphop dancer for about 7 years. I did the whole crew thing, auditioning thing, competition thing, choreography thing, dance instructor thing, so I have some experience in that field and I hope to be able to share some perspective from my experiences for y'all to see the extra things that I appreciate about a video when I point them out.
- My videos can have quite a lot of cuts in editing and/or my eyes will unnaturally blink rapidly sometimes. This is because of my neurological disease that came with my lupus nephritis (posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome). My thinking abilities and speaking abilities struggle to align at times.
- Yes, that's Jack Sparrow's ring that I always wear in my videos. I've been a Pirates of the Caribbean fan ever since I rode the ride for the first time ever in Disneyland when I was a kid.🤓

You need to react to Gotta Go (probably her most famous song, it is amazing) and Dream of You that is a full-English song as she recently signed with a US label too besides her Korean label.

The choreographers are Love Ran and Rianess
from La Chica. Love Ran is known for Vogue in Korea and she is also the choreographer for Dream of You (Chung Ha most recent song). La Chica has 3 choreographers that have been working with Chung Ha almost since debut (La chica also choreographed Better for BoA). They normally dance in the videos/performances too, in Stay Tonight all of them are dancing. Also, she has been working with some of the same dancers during several comebacks, I think their chemistry is very strong in this sense and this chemistry accentuates the performance as a whole. She has said a few times that she doesn't like the term "backup dancers" because they are dancers who help to build the image, the concept and the performance, it's not a work she does by herself and they are just filling the stage.

This magnificent choreo is co-created by Rian, super talented choreographer who created choreography like Better by BoA, Snapping by Chungha, and Helicopter by CLC; and Love Ran, a breathtaking choreographer whose specialty is vogue, quoted by Rian as “the mother of Korean voguing.” During the first buildup to the chorus of this song, Ran and Rian were the female dancers doing the floorwork right in front of Chungha. Ran is in center for the old way vogue dance break (as she should! Representation ftw)

You have made it to Miss Chungha 👏 - Thee busiest soloist of 2020 - She appeared and collab'd in over 7 songs/MVs. Everything she does is PURE GOLD! You can't go wrong with anything she does! She lived in Texas for a short time, so she is pretty fluent in English. She got her start in what I call, one of the best GG ever created (I.O.I) - As you mentioned, "She is so beautiful" - Wait til you see her with no makeup, she is just as beautiful.

If you watch Korean variety shows, there was a recent short show about female idols just going running in scenic places, it has sunmi, chungha, loona's chuu, exid hani and oh my girl yooa. Very wholesome show
Chung ha's dancers have a special place in the industry
Chungha's female dancers are (mostly from) a choreo group called La Chica. The two girls you mainly see center on either side of Chungha are Simeez (left, silver ponytail in practice) and Jiwon (right, bike shorts) and another dancer in the lineup, Rian (body suit w/ side cut outs), are all the three head choreographers. They're very popular dancers/choreographers at the moment and making many, many choreos lately. You'll start to recognize them, Simeez and Rian are in Taemin's latest comeback. Simeez choreo'd for KARD the last couple of comebacks. They were also in Kang Daniel's Wave just to name a few.
The dancers at the start are from a dance/choreo group called Coming Out. They're all LGBTQ+!
Chungha loves her dancers as family that's why the synergy is always right! As you now are hooked just check them out, you'll see mostly the same dancers through her videos. She was my I.O.I bias the moment she auditioned on Produce 101. She's only improved the dancing and her gaze!

The women on the right side (Ran) was also a choreographer who specializes in vouging who helped the choroegrapher of chung ha to make this iconic dance practice. "Chung Ha" is one of the hottest female soloists in the K-pop scene. As you saw, the dance is almost the strongest, and the vocals are also solid. I would like to recommend you all of Chungha's songs, but if there are too many, I would definitely recommend "Gotta Go," "Dream of You."

Chung Ha is great. Always fierce and on point on stage but off stage she always seem goofy and all over the place. There is a series called Running Girls that is on some Korean Network right now with ChungHa, Sunmi, Hani, YooA and Chuu. Always fun to see idols off stage personalities.

I think Chungha does not have the official music video on her channel, it's only on Stone Music. Don't quote me on that but if I remember correctly, I did not find it on her channel when I looked. That would make sense if Stone Music paid for all the Sci-Fi special effects, but the dance video would have sold the song all on its own anyway, it's so awesome! She is GORGEOUS in every way!
