Dimash sings here as a guest on the New Wave 2018 (international competition). Igor Krutoy, the man in the white shirt at the end, a famous Russian composer, music titan and initiator of the New Wave had invited him. Now, both are a "Dreamteam" and work together from time to time. They are friends, have a father-son-relationship.
... and of course Dimash donates the many flowers to hospitals and retirement homes.
The band that Dimash accompanies at this performance called A’Studio, who composed and performed “Sinful Passion” in 1998. The band is also from Kazakhstan (Dimash's homeland) and this Dimash performance has revived the song.

A lovely infectious enthusiastic reaction. Dimash does that to many of us. I am now 79 years old and the only concert apart from opera and piano recitals I have ever attended is a live one with Dimash, last year in Kuala Lumpur. And now I want to go to another one! You will get many suggestions for Dimash performances (there are over 100 of them). But for something completely different go for "Ave Maria", in any event, you will be surprised at every single choice you make. Us DEARS enjoy everything Dimash does on and off the stage!

Dimash is a storyteller who uses his entire arsenal (technique, vocal range, body expression, style...) as a resource to involve the public in the story he presents. When we pay attention to the lyrics, the story behind them, the feeling they can arouse, then we understand that everything he does is not for personal exaltation, but to captivate and elevate what he is singing! Sinful Passion - The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. Moreover, in the final part he added, with an oriental technique (from the Kazakhstan region). The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band name is A'Studio (Kazakh pop music group based in Russia, "Alma-Ata Studio", Almaty city). The dead singer (who Dimash was a fan of) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poetess Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the long-haired keyboardist, who we see in the video that accompanies Dimash.

Dimash began his training in classical singing at the age of 5 when he lived with his grandparents (It is customary in Kazakhstan for the first male child of a couple to be raised by his grandparents until adolescence). His father is a singer and producer and his mother is an opera singer. Dimash has no ties to producers or record labels so he has the freedom to create whatever he wants: He has a production company, run by his father, called “Dimashali”!
Some things that make Dimash a different singer are his absolute pitch and the ability to perceive and reproduce microtonalities (which currently reach 32 semitones and which is not a common scale in the West, which uses the well-tempered scale of 7 tones and 5 semitones ). He is also a phenomenal composer and arranger, a fact that complements his singing, as everything that needs to be done is already built inside his mind!
Dimash graduated from the University of the Arts in piano, classical, contemporary and jazz singing, has a master's degree in composition, plays seven musical instruments and is currently completing his doctorate in musicology.
